How (if at all) does the New Frontier version of your character differ from the original?:
He lived in Atlantis for a bit as a local hero/military leader. Also Orm hires Mera to kill him. That and he isn't king yet. Oh and he isn't married to Mera yet.

Just read my Lex stuff over again if you have to.
I'm no good at making banners or anything, took me a whole month to figure out how to use pictures here.

I agree with that, and so far you're right about the IC. :)

Dude, pictures are your thing. Do it, I love it. Makes the post not only a good read but also pretty to look at.
@Nightrunner@Eddie Brock

Y'all should move to Louisiana! Gumbo and boudin for everybody! Where fishing and hunting is more important than higher education! La Bon Ton Rolet!

No offense taken, man. I've said my fair share of things in the heat of arguments that didn't come out right, so I get it. (I'm still gonna have Spider-Man grill Ol' Cueball mercilessly in his inner monologue, though. )

Haha wouldn't have it any other way!
Furthermore, please don't suggest that I'm just some shill incapable of forming my own opinion. I dislike MoS for my own reasons, which as you can see are quite important to me.

Did I say that? That was unintentional and not how that was supposed to be taken at all. My apologies. Seriously, never meant to offend you. I was just trying to say that we are probably not going to change each other's minds here so maybe we should change the subject.

Seriously though, never wanted to offend. You are probably one of my favorite other players on this game right now.

The fact that you had to non sequitur back to the killing issue just proves that there's no argument against my second point. MoS Superman doesn't prevent one iota of collateral damage because the writers chose to ignore it.

But I'll humor you. At what point did I say no superheroes could ever kill? I didn't. I said Superman shouldn't ever kill. In no way does that ever translate to the Avengers. Steve Rogers is a soldier. Natasha Romanoff and Clint Barton are assassins. Thor is a warrior. They all have killed in the past, so it's natural that they'll use that option when facing an invading army. Superman doesn't kill. Outside of a few rare examples in 75+ years of comics, it's just not a part of his character.

Saying Superman doesn't kill because it isn't in his character and then admitting that he has on a few rare occasions is contradicting your own argument. Why not count Zod as a rare Occasion? Supes has killed Doomsday multiple at least twice that I know of because he had no other option. And saying that it is okay for some and not for the others is the same double standard you are using to attack this movie. If Cap can kill, Supes can blow up a building. (Which he never actually did.)

But let's address the collateral damage issue since you want to continue this discussion. Most of it was caused by the world engine. All of it was caused by the villains, because they are villains. It is not Superman's fault that he couldn't stop every building from exploding. Could the writers have toned it down? Yeah sure, but Superman is literally the most powerful being on Earth and he is fighting someone with the exact same power level, realistically if beings like these were to fight shit would blow up. Just because Marvel isn't willing to blow up a few buildings during a full blown alien invasion doesn't mean DC has to hold back. Superman can move freaking planets, if someone just as powerful as him goes to earth with the intention of destroying it there is going to be damage, damage that Superman isn't going to be able to stop while being punched in the face non stop.

A villain who at any point could hand been momentarily incapacitated to allow for such a scene, if the writers cared more about making their hero a hero rather than simply seeing how many buildings they could flatten.

The Avengers sure did kill a lot of those aliens that were attack New York didn't they? Hawkeye arrows, Hulk smashing, Iron Man guns, etc. And before you go all "but they were aliens!" so was Zod. Guess killing a bunch of faceless minions is morally justifiable though. And Fraknly having an invasion on that scale without more collateral damage is unrealistic.

But anyways I think we're talking in circles here, you'll continue being on the hate train because the internet complained a bit and I'll continue loving this movie because I think it is amazing.

@Vandy

On an unrelated note...Lionel Luthor woooo!!! Oh wait...never mind :P

Haha you like that? I almost didn't do it. No more hints though, I want people to read the post.

Once Superman and Zod start fighting, find me one scene where Supes puts civilians first. In all that destruction porn, they couldn't fit in a single shot of Superman of shielding someone from an explosion or moving someone out from underneath falling rubble? In the first Avengers, you have Hulk saving an office building from the Leviathan and Cap rescuing hostages in a bank. MoS has no equivalent in its third act.

He snaps Zod's neck to save a family. That is a scene in the third act. He also has no super team to fall back on as he has a villain with the same power level as him focusing all of his attention on him.

I'm not gonna comment on the New 52 Justice League because I think it has similar problems and sacrifices too much to make characters look 'cool'.
But the Avengers devote minutes of screentime to the Avengers saving people. That's what I needed from MoS, some kind of thought about the people in danger rather than Mortal Kombat style brawling, the slight glower he gives Pete Ross in ihop doesn't count. Avengers 2 spends about half an hour clearing civilians from the battlefield before they actually go for the big villain.

Yeah yeah, forgot there's a lot of New 52 hate out there as well. Watch my counter argument link up there. And read the description of the video.

<Snipped quote by vandy>

You know what, fair point, I'd forgotten that. I got distracted by all the advertisements and logos that were being smashed to pieces. :P

There were quite a few adds in the movie, no argument there.

By the way, new Lex post.
