Clarissa Sherman Age: 16 ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ | Personality: “When you have ruled out the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.” Clarissa is clever, observant, and analytical. She has bent her abilities to the service of justice and seeking the truth to help others as much as possible. She is not, however, above the occasional lie or breaking the law when she feels it morally correct to assist a client or solve a case. She avidly studies those fields that she finds useful to her, and tends to know at least a little about most others. She has a flair for the dramatic, and enjoys keeping her evidence or deductions hidden to impress others. She also very much enjoys surprising her friends with her skills at disguises. Although her personal grooming is often very fastidious, Clarissa is quite disorganized in general. She’ll leave clothes or papers and other things wherever she last set them down, and her room is a mess of the highest degree. She takes convincing to let others clean up after her. She is athletic and not always very ladylike, often eschewing dresses for suits. Her overall eccentric nature makes her a difficult friend, but she is personable enough. If anything, she’s less charismatic to those she knows well. She has no experience or apparent interest in love and romance, and would likely become quickly flustered if confronted about it or if she had to speak to someone she liked. Despite being a Witch herself, Clarissa puts little stock in the popular mysticism of the day. |

History:
Clarissa was born into a middle class family. While her family was not particularly well to do, she never wanted for anything growing up. Possessed of a keen mind and sharp wit from a young age, she has gotten a good education and furthered it wherever possible with her own studies, particularly in areas of personal interest.
Her natural talents and method of deductive reasoning has led her to become something of an amateur detective. She helps others with their problems, investigating things and working hard to find solutions that see justice done. Being a young woman, she usually addresses cases among children, though she has sometimes been dragged more into the adult world. Murders and high-profile crimes are not her usual fare, nor is she well known enough to garner professional attention for their assistance. Clarissa will help anyone with whatever problems they bring to her, should they be within her powers to solve them.
Her detective work has the benefit of sending her across London, and even to other places in England at times (if she can escape from her family to travel). More importantly, it allows her to help people in need, and gives her ample opportunity to find Hydes lurking around the more unexplained or inexplicable crimes.
Clarissa treats the London coven as a sort of social club or knitting circle. She usually attends meetings, and she often drops by to recruit the help of other witches should circumstances require it.
Magical Identity
Witch Name Lumen ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ Upon transformation, her hair becomes blonde, and her eyes become lighter and seem to glow almost as if lit from within. Her outfit is primarily dark blue, and could probably be mistaken for ordinary clothing. Weapon ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ Lumen's weapon is the lantern she carries with her. While she could use it to club someone over the head, she usually uses it to channel her offensive magics | Pixie Lux ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ A relatively ordinary looking pixie with six wings form of light. Lux tends to be a curious sort, approaching everything new with a childlike sense of wonder. She is always there to react with surprise at Clarissa's observations, or provide her own attempts at them. She can also manipulate the light cast by her lantern, using it to create intense bursts to dazzle, or beams of searing light for attacks.

Mary Anne Crewe
Mary Anne Crewe Age: 17 ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ | Personality: Mary Anne is a clever young woman who is kind and polite to most everyone she meets. She can be a bit on the quiet side at times, but is still ready with a smile and a few words for her friends. She doesn’t seem to be concerned with class boundaries, and is certainly just as warm to anyone. Despite her best efforts, her lower-class accent and slang sometimes slip out, especially if she’s under stress. While she appreciates her new life, she sometimes wonders if she’ll actually be able to fit in. She definitely worries that others don’t take her seriously, particularly if they know her history. In her magical girl persona as a lady thief, she is much more flamboyant and outgoing. She is still polite to everyone she meets, and tries to avoid violence or threats in any of her capers. Cunning and just a little dangerous, she’ll sweep men and women alike off their feet, stealing hearts along with material wealth. She always leaves a calling card at her burglaries. |

History:
Mary Anne was orphaned at a young age, and her early life was difficult. Her orphanage was not particularly kind or able to provide for the children, and she had to turn to picking pockets and other forms of petty theft to survive. Life was hard and sometimes dangerous, but she always tried to be kind and help the other children or those even less fortunate than she was.
Eventually, she was adopted into a wealthy family, lifting her out of poverty and into the world of the upper class. Suddenly schooling, refinement, and social pressures took up most of her days. Her good nature was able to more freely shine through, and she still tried to help her old friends when she could.
After becoming a witch, she’s decided to become a lady thief, plying her old trade on a much grander scale and more for the thrill than necessity. She picks her targets carefully, targeting those who do not value their wealth, or to punish the evil and corrupt. Sometimes, she’ll even steal from other criminals, particularly if their crimes would otherwise go unknown. She doesn’t usually keep what she takes, instead giving it to the less fortunate. Overall, she is a force for good, but her alter ego is seen as a criminal by the police.
Magical Identity
Witch Name Blue Rose ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ Blue Rose's outfit could possibly pass for normal clothes, although the skirt is scandalously short. Her eyes are still blue, but compared to Mary, her hair is long and blonde. She casts no shadow whatsoever, perhaps as a side-effect of her own magic. Weapon Weapon's Name ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ A revolver that fires magical projectiles that strike at the spiritual rather than physical body. These projectiles don’t cause any lasting injury in ordinary humans, at best disabling a limb as if it had fallen asleep or temporarily causing someone to pass out. Magical creatures such as Hydes, however, suffer damage as if hit by actual bullets. | Pixie Umbra ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ Umbra is a small fairy with the wings of a moth. She has pale skin and dresses in shimmering black. She is more serious than Mary when it comes to both defeating Hydes and being a phantom thief. It is often Umbra who comes up with the more elaborate plans for a heist. Transformed State ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ When transformed, Umbra becomes a mask that Blue Rose usually wears over her face to further obscure her identity. |
