Trin raised an eyebrow as Zaino motioned with his head that he wasn't in condition to go. Or maybe just no want to help. It seemed like the former more than the latter, but both were probably involved. With a sigh Trin tightened her fists, staring at the fire for a moment. She wanted to make a snide comment, just to bring up a sore and truthful fact. “Maybe... ” and she kept silent again. Turning away from the fire and the other companions for the time being Trin returned to their horses. She had seen her father head down toward the river with his fish blanket in hand, so she wasn't worried about food coming to them soon. The wait didn't help the growl creeping up her stomach however. Taking a small brush out from one of the saddlebags Trin slowly brought the brush down Talvin's backside. It was a relaxing activity she was tasked with to help keep their steeds happy and to give herself some time to think when needed. Thinking brought hunger right now, but someone had to stay awake. Be alert. If there wasn't someone who could do that then what could happen to them in the dead of night? Trin's eyes darted through the forest, a small chill going down her back as her hand continued to run the brush down Talvin.
Leon slowed his walked when Caius came walking up towards him so he could get his wine bottle back. They didn't have much food left, so enjoying what little drink they had may as well be shared. Taking another mouthful down Leon handed it to Tilhas. “No idea what it's made of. Maybe green apples? Either way, it was in a lord's mansion when we got it, so I assumed it was a decent brew.” Leon said with a shrug of his shoulders. When Lumara told Leon to get the wood he let out an annoyed groan.
“ Carrying the tool and the wood, am I? So, what made you pair join the Shepards?” Leon decided to ask as he knelt down to retrieve the first of many logs in the area while mumbling about it not even needing to be cut. Kindling shouldn't be a problem that night.
“Do they have some big party when you get initiated in? It'd be pretty boring otherwise I feel. Just walkin' and walkin' and walkin'...”
Talbot was quick to approach, as Neo hoped he would be. A mouthful of questions came from the sorcerer fairly quickly. Stop at a rock that didn't have any water hitting it that was a safe distance from the stream, Neo took out his two lightining tomes and placed them down. “Put any tomes you have here for a moment. You shouldn't need them for this part. The tricks I have... well, I'm going to see if you can perform them now!” he said, continuing his walk until his feet were almost in the stream. Looking down, he could see a couple fish swimming by every few moments. Perfect.
Neo turned his head toward them as they reached the stream, and apologetic smile on his face as he looked from Vellia, to Talbot, and back. “I wish I didn't have to wake you, but the others are either too injured or preoccupied to help at the moment. Both of you, I'd assume, would sleep far better with a decent amount of food in your stomachs, yes?” he said, gesturing to the material in his hand. Unwrapping the large bundle for a moment it became apparent that the item was a net of peculiar make. Rectangular in shape the knotting was tighter than most, leaving many more, but much smaller, holes throughout the net. The center knot from one side of the net had a wire as thick as a twig going through the weaves to the other side.
“This is a special net I procured from a ship my family sailed on for a short time. It's made specifically to catch small sea creatures. I modified a bit with the wire that now runs through it.” Giving one corner to Vellia Neo pointed across the stream, not ten feet away. “If you could hop to that side milady and pull the net snug I would appreciate your assistance. Then, using your sword, put the hilt through one of the holes close to the end and the blade into the ground and step back“ Handing the other corner to Talbot. “I need you to hold this end tight, with your other hand on the wire. I'm going to take the other end into the water so we cover almost the entire stream and repeat the process with my iron sword.” A wistful smile formed on his face. “If we survive that much work, the rest of the process should be easy.”
Taking his whole side of the net, Neo began to walk down into the stream.
