Current You've heard of BBW and BBQ, but have you heard of BMW? Neither have I, they never signal their turn.

Bio

Thank you for visiting my biography.

I am just a typical Aussie Young Adult juggling social life and work at the same time.

I have not roleplayed in years. I thought maybe I'll re-login once in a while and see how the Guild is going.

I have lost touch with the friends that I've made while I was a resident here. Those of you who were my friends, know that I enjoyed my time roleplaying with you and I hope that it is mutual.

I hope to see you in another life.

I hate it when a roleplay just starts and everyone specializes in the same general area in a roleplay that has the possibility to be diverse. (I.e too many healers, fighters, bards, etc.)

<Snipped quote by vancexentan>

It always seems to be an issue when given a choice. I've noticed it a few times and people seem to gravitate towards a certain class, species, genre, etc. I think this needs to be always in the back of the mind and if the GM wants to limit slots, than he or she should.

Another way to get around this could be crossing classes over. Don't have a great example but it might be enough to break that general mould.

What do you mean? I wanna 360 no scope somebody!

Or I want to compromise myself with a giant badass rifle!
I'm not sure if there are any existing rules that I could use, and if their are I am not sure they are forum-friendly. I shall research them, and come back later. Until then, discuss and offer suggestions to this mess of a page.

Right now all I got is a player allocates points to attributes (Mind, Body, Spirit, Focus, Discipline), which determine their health, melee damage, ranged damage, defense, and ability to channel Chi.

Each character also knows a certain 'style', and these styles offer bonuses in combat. Some styles may offer defense bonuses, while others offer melee bonuses. Some might greatly increase melee damage but greatly reduce defense. Some styles are useful against others, while some styles are balanced.

Techniques are the skills and abilities of a character. Every character can use a standard attack, but they can deal the most damage using skills and Chi abilities. Some of these Techniques can allow a character to attack two, three, or even four times a turn. Other Techniques might allow them use Chi to heal their allies, inflict damage on enemies, buff their friends, etc.

In a single turn you may:
Engage - Choose an opponent to fight; you may follow this up with an attack, and certain skills/abilities.
Disengage - You may disengage from an opponent, but without certain skills/abilities you will take damage.
Attack - A normal attack against an opponent.
Use Skill/Ability - Instead of attacking, you may use a skill or ability; some allow you to use a normal attack as well.
Channel - You generate Chi overtime, but using this will greatly increase the amount of Chi you generate this turn.
Change Style - Change your style to receive a different buff.

Why not check out Dungeons and Dragons - the Fifth Edition rulings?
Mine is simple, I'm a traveler and I'm going with you guys since its better than to travel alone. Y'know, bandits n' stuff.
I know, but some people forget about stuff like that. Heck, we could even do other passive skills too, like passive athletics to decide how easily one might say, jump a gap that's only five feet long. For some that's nothing, but if you're not the type to be running about or have some reason to be at a disadvantage, a more conscience effort might be involved.

That is at DM's discretion. I know for certain that the Wizards (the Creators) do not have that as a feature.
.. Now we could have a passive perception (For Orchid his is 13) so if anything that is trying to hide can't beat a 13, Orchid would spot it. But if he's not actively looking, then he won't know to do a perception check to beat a 13 or higher. Yeah it's kinda a pain to constantly do perception checks, but at the same time it's sort of in-character, you know? Would your character be the type who's always on the look out, or would he sometimes just sort of stumble into a situation and take whatever is given to him?

That's what Passive Perception is designed for...
I am cool with combat rolls. I'd prefer a call out check for ability rolls in out of combat situation. It makes it less confusing.
Trear Oakfell:

@VKAllen Now your total exceeds the 27 point buy limit by one point if I am counting this correctly.

STR - 8 for 0
DEX - 13+2 for 5
CON - 14 for 7
INT - 10 for 2 (Suggested change: 9 for 1)
WIS - 14+1 for 7
CHA - 14 for 7
Resulting in a grand total of 28 points. If I may suggest an easy way out, as you seem to be looking for low-ish intelligence, if you drop it to 9 your point buy total will become 27 and thus legal.

Oh, and as goblinoids are a subrace of humanoids, you may choose another humanoid subrace as a Favoured Enemy. You may learn one language from the two of them, which you already have, so you cannot learn one from the other. You'll still get the other bonuses, or that's at least what I'm reading from this.

I am detecting a few other errors. Will fix later in the afternoon.
@VKAllen As far as I can see, you are missing out on stats. You current array comes across as follows:

STR - 8 for 0
DEX - 13+2 for 5
CON - 14 for 7
INT - 8 for 0
WIS - 14+1 for 7
CHA - 12 for 4
Resulting in a grand total of 23 points spent, leaving you with 4 extra. Also, what might be your favoured enemy?

Ghukliak.

Favoured enemy is the goblin kind.

The array I used was in an app's, so I'll add additional things in.
Let's take a look here, shall we?

@Lucius Cypher I have always thought of the staff you receive from your background as more of a walking stick/poking implement rather than a weapon (quarterstaff). Would make sense for a Half-Orc to have one a bit sturdier one though. We can say it's a quarterstaff. The longsword being called a machete is fine with me.

@VitaVitaAR You can remove skill proficiencies from your Languages and Proficiencies tab, as those are marked with the checkboxes above. As for the fluffing of the chain mail... while I don't personally think of it as silly looking, I can see that it could bother someone. You have to realize that a plate-armour on the level of chain mail is some really bad plate though. If it leaves the big arteries on her legs visible though (like in the images) it might well be 2 AC worse. The arms don't appear to have the greatest plating either, so we can work with this I'd say. Not to mention the lack of a helmet :P Sure, have it be inferior plate mail.

Haven't seen any problems with characters thus far. We are still waiting for one of the people from the Interest Check and for VKAllen to show me their character, but I'd say we are making good progress in getting this thing running.
