Hahaha, at the very least they'd know each other. Friendliness is optional, a little inner drama is always fun ya know?. So Raven has backed out from this leaving the slot for Earth open. I wanted to start by tomorrow so if no one claims it by then, I guess I'll take 'em, if there are no objections of course.
Yeeaah... I tend to forget you can't read my mind. My bad, hahaha!
Well, it doesn't look like our fox is returning so I figured changing the target to turning on the lights might work out better. :/
"I sure hope they will turn on soon. For a creature of the night, I didn't develop much of a night vision. That's more of a male's thing." Jade shrugged her shoulders and continued moving, looking for switches in the dark. "Just keep the memory of those scents and sounds in your head. That could be valuable information. Anything we see or hear from now on should be approached with caution but assumed as part of the game." Eyes drifting from corner to corner, Jade spotted a door and had a thought. "We should locate the basement, see if we can trip the breaker and get some of these lights back on."
I apologize for that sudden absence, just hanging out with my best friend as much as possible before we don't see each other for 5+ months. :/ Okie dokie then... Talija, c3, and Masaki you are all accepted and may switch your characters over to the other tab at your earliest convenience. Ragnarok, I thought it'd be nice to give everyone a little edge up in something but if you wish to keep Sinclair rather neutral be my guest. He is accepted but your picture has stopped working, so whenever you can fix that you may switch him over with the others. ^.^ That just leaves Raven as Earth, I'll shoot them a PM later tonight if they don't show up before then. > Is this still accepting? In a way, yes and no. ravenDivinity has first claim on the Earth child slot, however I was telling someone else on the interest check that I could make alternate roles available if you'd truly like to join. The group is made up of children, so they'll probably be sent with an adult to watch over them, a warrior of sorts to keep them safe until they grow into their powers. If that sounds alright to you, feel free to put together a CS with N/A in the Elements slot and your character's age in Other. A general note, I saw a few mentions of school in your CS's and it occurred to me that I didn't think of such a thing. The little details that slips one's mind. The setup of the world is very Pangea-like, mostly one giant mass with other smaller masses out at sea. Territories rather than Countries, and the time is a little older than medieval but not quite advanced. Needless to say, school is going to be kept similar with minor differences. History class is more like Geography, no gym just wilderness survival, farm animal care, horseback riding, forget math... I hate math. The classes are geared towards daily life, whereas activities are aimed at those who wish to someday travel or leave the village. Needed for both protection as well as handy skills to earn tournament money. XD And the village they live in is large for a village but too small to be considered a city. Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I'll be posting my character sheet soon.
Jade sighed with relief, watching the little Riolu waddle off towards the Ponyta. Placing her feet firmly on the deck she shivered slightly at the chilling water dampening her shirt, a trail of Silv's dripping body left behind on the fabric. Mia and Blake, who had been left behind by their trainer's sudden movement, leisurely made their way toward the railing to join the others. "Breeder, huh?" Jade had much different problems with Breeders than she did Trainers, not liking one or the other particularly. Trainers caught Pokemon and used them to gain fame and fortune, but breeders were in it for the eggs. While much gentler, she still didn't like them very much. As the guy walked away, Jade eyed him up and down, determining that he didn't seem all that bad... yet. Turning to see how close shore was, Jade shrugged and pushed away from the wall. "Come on you three. We've got to finish packing everything up." Jade gave a slight wave good-bye to Kite before heading off towards the cabins herself, a Trapinch, Bagon and Dratini close on her heels.
It's ready!... I think. XD [Click Here :)](http://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/75587/posts/ooc#post-2339041)
Our Elementals
_On the day of the children's birth five shards were removed from the main crystal, meant as tokens, reminders of the mission they had before them. However, not a single person could alter the appearance of the shards, as if compelled to leave them be. There were many times when the village elders attempted to give the children the shards, but every time they were put neatly back in their box leaving behind a sense that they were not ready to be distributed. It wasn't until a month before the children's 17th birthdays that the elders had a dream where the shards spoke to them, giving their permission to finally hand them over to each of the five children. It was this dream that told the elders it was finally time for the kids to set off on their new mission and a plan was made, to present the shards before sending them to observe the crystal._ --- Most magical boys and girls have something that 'transforms' them, the assumed source or amplifier of their gifts. Ladies and gentleman I present to you, the shards. When they are first handed off to the children, they merely hum with a power meant to draw them back to the main crystal. Once at said crystal the spirits of the deceased sorcerers will enter the shards where they will become beautiful stones that unlock the specialized magic within them. You will then get to decide how the stones stay close; necklace, cuff, ring... Usually something that can stay very close to its person. The kind of stone also depends on your element: [Aventurine](http://www.hiddenitegems.com/images/gem-id/cabochons/aventurine-green-cab.JPG)(Earth), [Lapis Lazuli](http://images-of-elements.com/lapis-lazuli.jpg)(Water), [Vanadinite](http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FhKi8537TnQ/UZkFJAw55wI/AAAAAAAAHWY/4YwjgjNRNyA/s1600/Vanadinite5.jpg)(Fire), [Moonstone](http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130225182737/greenrider/images/b/bc/Moonstone.jpg)(Air), [Citrine](http://www.rubysapphiregemstone.com/images/NB2249.JPG)(Aether). As for the powers they unlock, they are as follows: **Earth:** The element of strength and focus, a force that needs a steady hand to control it. Mastery of the element allows for manipulation of wood as well as stone, the ability to find the lost or hidden and a second sight is given through vibrations travelling through the ground. A very handy tool to see around the next bend. This element also gives its users a little extra muscle to back their punches. **Water: _(Masaki Haruna)_** Not as gentle as it is often made out to be. One moment a calm and tranquil element, the next a frigid foe. Understanding this allows for the sorcerer to heal as well as willing minor changes to ones own appearance through the reflection of a water source. It's more dangerous side allows the user to drastically change the temperature of the element, helpful when getting someone to talk. Water also likes to instill knowledge upon sorcers who draw strength from it, a small boost in the intelligence department. **Fire:** Violent and angry, this element longs for destruction. It is the spark of life, the only physical element that creates its own existence. While it consumes much, it also gives back its warmth and loyalty to its users but promises no such things to allies. What it lacks in physical strength and intellect, it makes up for in speed. Those of the fire alignment are gifted with faster than average reflexes. **Air:** Light and full of laughter, can be much more mischievous than it lets on. It can carry sounds over greater distance than one might normally be able hear from, a nosy body who likes to have a good time. Manipulation of scents is also a talent in addition with the naturally lighter body that, with enough practice, can jump greater heights/distances and even float along the air currents. **Aether: _(c3p-0h)_** While fire is the spark of life, aether is life. Where other magics use physical attacks, aether users are compellers. Using the positive energy to influence the mind in different ways. Their power grows from the light and connections to sacred sights, diminishing where corruption is high. They are also dream walkers, sometimes able to speak to the dead or dying, and are granted just the slightest bit of good luck. --- Those are your elements, so for those of you who haven't chosen: choose wisely. ^.^ And if you wish to change, it's first come first serve. ### RULES: -Play nicely with others. I will not tolerate any disrespect towards anyone here. -No Power Playing, God-modding and other such rude things. -This is a mid-to-high casual RP. That means proper grammar, punctuation use, and a good quality post. Length is usually not the issue. I would rather have 1 really good paragraph than 3 sub par paragraphs. -And in the case that interest fades or something pops up, don't leave us hanging please. Just type a little goodbye and what you'd prefer done with your character. It's no big deal, happens all the time... I'd just like to know when someone doesn't plan on posting again. --- So without further ado, your CS skeletons: {Picture} **Name:** **Nickname:** **Gender:** **Element:** **Personality:** **Other:** {Things like preferred weapon, fun facts, or anything I may have forgotten go here}
At the base of the mountains sits a village, neither large nor small it rests in the flat space between the foot of the Shia mountain pass and the borders of the Emerald Forest. By this point in the village's life, stone streets were replacing the dirt paths, a major contrast to the wooden structures used for their buildings. The center of this particular village was marked by a large Wishing Well with bright green ivy wrapping around the stone base and up the sides of the posts. Most of the merchants had shops set up in the courtyard surrounding the well, temporary stands that changed positions depending on the demand for product that season. The first layer of buildings closest to the center belonged to the village Elders, four out of the eight left empty for the next generation of rule makers. Spiraling out from the center were the living quarters where the mass of people lived, and all the way out at the edge of the town were the much larger structures. On the forest side sat the blacksmiths and the farms while on the mountain side sat the school, livestock fields and horse stables. The sun had barely risen over the horizon before villagers had awoken, flocking toward the center of the town. Today was the 17th birthday of the five gifted children, the day they would finally be presented with the crystal shards and sent into the Emerald Forest to see the main mass. After the disaster, the villagers did their best to keep away from the crystal, treating it as a sacred object and respecting it as such. One could always see the tip of the structure above the tops of the trees but the Elders were the last to see the crystal up close. Now those five children would venture into the forest and return the shards they were presented with to the main crystal as instructed in the Elders' dream. A sense of excitement filled the air as the sky grew lighter, teams switching in and out to decorate the main courtyard. Those who were not decorating were working hard to complete daily chores as early as possible so that the town could celebrate the momentous occasion. The children had always been treated differently, given privileges other kids would not normally have, however this was the first time their birthdays had been celebrated as largely as this year's. Laughter filled the town as people awoke and got to work, a normally friendly town finding a new level of friendship amongst the festivities, even young children stopped bickering to pitch in. By noontime the streets were filled with people playing games, eating and drinking to their hearts content awaiting the gathering of the birthday guests. Meanwhile, out in the forest, the dark crystal hummed with an excitement of its own. Various woodland creatures began to gather around the structure, feeling the shift in the crystal's power and drawn to it as those holding its shards would be. Its pull would only grown until the shards were reunited with the main body, an event that wouldn't be set in motion until the sun settled below the mountains and the sky began to darken. Until then it waited in an uneasy silence.
