Character name: Iris Dufrein

Age: 18

Height/Weight: 5'7" 125lbs

Personality: Iris is a bit of a troublemaker. She likes to have fun and is not all that fond of rules nor the people that are usually enforcing them. She at one point was put in the bunker jail cells for breaking into the commander's room and stealing some of his weapons. She is also protective, kind, and funny.

History: Iris is part of the second generation born in the bunker. Both of her parents were born in the bunker as well. Her grandparents often spoke of the outside before the asteroid. They made the world sound so big and so amazing that she couldn't even fathom all that they lost. She was determined that in her lifetime she would get outside if there was a chance at all.

Skills: Iris started training as a soldier at 16 and excelled at archery and hand to hand combat.

Extra or Miscellaneous information Iris was named for the blue irises that she was born with.

7. If you can't be here for an extended time you need to let the gm's know in ooc by tagging all three or by pm in group conversation to all three. If you are gone for longer than a week without any word from you, your character can be killed off.

8. Swearing is allowed in the IC but keep it civil in the OOC. If you have a problem that needs to be addressed please bring it to PM or directly to the gm or co-gm do not fight or make a scene in the OOC. You WILL be kicked out if you do.

9. Everything should be written in 3rd person and past tense for consistency.

The Asteroid of the Damned

The world has just been hit head on by a large asteroid. Most of the smaller asteroids and the debris have burnt up upon entering the atmosphere. The damage to the planet is extensive. Earthquakes and volcanoes have been activated and the population has suffered massive devastation. Tidal waves and tsunami's have caused the coasts to be pushed inland. Since the asteroid actually hit in the middle of Russia. The water levels have risen exponentially since the tectonic plate that Russia sat on was busted on impact. The Earth's atmosphere and oxygen levels are changed and 98% of the planet's population has been wiped out. What hasn't been destroyed by the asteroid's impact has been destroyed or altered by the excessive heat or by the other unknown gases that were released from the Earth's core. Fortunately, Nature will always find a way.

The animal and plant life has changed immeasurably since the asteroid hit. Since the devastation of nearly all animal life there are new creatures that are completely new and some old ones that have adapted and now have harder skin whereas before they were furry. There are more reptiles and amphibians, and there are fewer mammals than before. The creatures are more vicious because there is less available food. People are no longer on the top of the food chain.

The people who were in the underground bunkers came out after five decades. Not all of them survived. About half died in the first week. The rest of them began to feel changes as their bodies adapted to the new surroundings. Their cells changed and adapted to the atmospheric changes in oxygen and carbon monoxide levels as well as other gases in the air. Those that survived began to get sick with something like the flu. After about a week of illness they began to thrive. It was then that they started to realize that they had some horrifying problems. Those that did not survive started coming back to life as the walking dead.

Your location is in the midwestern United States. On the map it is a red dot. It should be northern Missouri.

When they are fighting the dead, each other, the new wildlife and the planet itself, will the human race survive?

It has been fifty years since the asteroid hit and there are new families that have been created since it happened in the bunkers. There would have been births and deaths. The remaining people are multi generational and span ages ranging from 5 to 80. YOUR character must be at least 16yrs old but no older than 60.

The Bunker

The bunker is full of rooms set up like a hub with hallways going to different sections. There are small bedrooms 8x5 for singles and for married couples there is one section of 8x9 sized rooms. The hub can hold up to 200. There are bathrooms, showers and a cafeteria type kitchen. The cafeteria doubles as a multi-purpose room for meetings or community gatherings. It's a tight living space for 200 but they only had 154 so it was slightly easier for them. There are also storage rooms for the food and maintenance things as well as a laundry room and a couple of offices for the commander and other government officials that may be there.

The bunker has hundreds of plants and it's own electrical system in place. There has been a lot of strain on the system due to the age of the equipment, since it was built in the late 1960's. The air and water filtration systems are in place as well and also are strained.

The asteroid wasn't expected. There was no knowledge or warning until the last 24 hours so they were picking up people at random hoping that the younger ones would be able to learn from the older ones and reproduce so it would not be the end of humanity. You can describe a set of drawers in their rooms with a single bed and that's about it. It was really about the size of a normal bathroom. About 5'x8' approximately.

I typically don't have posting rules that limit posting. As long as you stay in the same time frame (the same day) as the rest of the group you are okay to post your conversation or whatever they are doing.

Alexis had followed Wayne and the sight of all of the streets and catacombs and the lighting changes and the scents were enough to overwhelm the senses. She finally just worried more about keeping her face covered and not losing Wayne. Death was a real concern for her in this place. One wrong move and that would be the end for both her and Wayne.

When Wayne woged she was fascinated by his transformation. It was almost serene. Most of the wesen transformations she had seen were almost violent but not his. She smiled at him in awe. Following him into the large cold room she felt danger, she almost couldn't breathe because it was so strong.

She listened to this voice that seemed to emanate from everywhere and nowhere at the same time. It almost reverberated off of the walls around her. After a moment she heard it ask her to come forward. Her heart almost stopped and she was sure it knew that. Alexis saw Wayne's face telling her no and the fear for her in his eyes was not lost on her. His words came to her again.

"...he will desire to speak with you, but hold your tongue. It is not wise to enrage the Tintenfisch."

Alexis hesitated. She stepped up next to Wayne but no further. She wondered how it knew her name but she dared not speak. The aura of danger only increased by the second and she had never faced a giant squid before. She was at a terrible disadvantage due to it's size alone and she knew it.

Alexis kept her eyes downcast but pulled her hood back since he seemed to know who she was. Her auburn curls were visible as they spilled down over her shoulders. She was hoping to project courage and respect instead of the fear she felt in that place. From where they stood she couldn't see anything of the tintenfisch which comforted her a little. It must be further back in the darkened cavern. She thought to herself.

Sophie watched his face transform as he thought about their situation. She smiled softly at his realization. When he asked her about her and Wayne she brightened.

"Wayne and I are..." She stopped unsure of how to proceed in her description. Thoughtfully she resumed.

"We are not romantically involved but we are closer to each other than most romantic relationships and yes we love each other in a way. I guess you could say we are as close as twins. Our relationship transcends the physical, we protect one another and fight together and at the same time we can almost read each other's mind sometimes. There are times I think he is literally the other half of me. We have been together a long time. That's really the best way I can describe us. I hope it makes sense to you."

Sophie had not tried to explain her and Wayne's bond before and she wasn't sure she did it justice. She bit her lip subconsciously for a moment.
