"We're undercover. This is a very important undercover operation which you are endangering just by talking to us. Look, I have a gun. I am Detective Inspector Me. This is my partner, Detective Her."
"Her?"
"Me."
"Him?"
"Not me. Her"
"Me."
"You?"
"Yes."
"I'm sorry who are you?"
"I'm Her, he's Me. Got it? Good. You better get out of here before you blow our cover. They've got snipers."

I was wondering if anyone was interested in a RP of the book Darkest Minds. It would be all original characters in a different setting with different plots. If you haven't read the book I recommend you do. It is about a disease, Idiopathic Adolescent Acute Neurodegeneration or IAAN, that spreads throughout the world affecting children and teens going through puberty. This disease kills off most of the children and the ones that survive are changed. They develop a set of powers that are rate by a new branch of government, IPCA, by color.
Green - A heightened intelligence
Blue - the power to move objects with their minds
Yellow - the power over electricity
Orange - the power to control minds and people
Red - the power over fire
IPCA is now confiscating children and putting them in internment camps. Parents are being told that they are being treated for their disease, while they are actually being forced to do manual labor, being tested on, and being as weapons. Life is terrible and the few who know the truth about the internment camps have formed a resistance, actively fighting IPCA.

Let me know if your interested.

"Screamer girl, how nice of you to join us." Astrid nonchalantly tossed the words out without looking up from the new match that now burned her skin. She recognized the girls voice from when she had weirdly freaked out in the kitchen. Maneuvering the match in her hands so she could hold it in one hand, she grabbed the bottle behind her and flicked off the lid. Looking up finally she watched as her roommate began a panic attack and ran out of the room. “Get the fuck away from me…” She sprinted out of the room and the slamming of the bathroom door could be heard from Astrid's room. Shrugging her shoulders Astrid smiled at the new girl and said, "Bottoms up." Tipping her head back she poured the contents into her mouth. Looking around the room she noticed that it seemed to be significantly darker. Shadows crawled the walls. Tilting her head to the side, Astrid noticed that the shadows were not actually on the wall, but standing up. Couldn't have been the Opium, I literally just took it. Pushing herself off the table she moved towards the closest shadow. Completely forgetting about the match in her hand she let it drop to the ground, knocking the flame out. Tentatively Astrid reached out a hand towards the bizarre thing in front of her. She examined it tilting her head back and forth like a scientist experimenting on a rat. Biting her bottom lip she stared deeper into it and finally pushed out a finger touching it. Instantly her finger burst into fire. Jerking her hand back in shock, Astrid waved her finger trying to put it out. "Shit!" Then she remembered that the fire wouldn't actually hurt her. Was this a new extent of her power? Completely oblivious to the shadow next to her she sat cross legged on the floor and stared at her new fascination. What if she could not only resist the burn of fire, but also control it? Astrid put all her concentration into the flame willing it to move... grow... do something.

thatswhatshesaid by saying Astrid lit the match on the table, i didnt mean she set the table on fire only she stuck the match against the table to catch the match on fire. I think setting the entire table on fire would be a bit over excessive...

Staring at the trees Astrid muttered to herself. "Not barbaric, merely elevated above yourself." Dez wrapped an arm around her shoulders. Normally she would have shrugged it off and reprimanded him for it, but something about the forest was continually drawing her attention. Interesting you say. I do actually. Here’s a test for you. There’s construction in the forest. They had to cease development because the machines stopped working. They haven't been back because each piece they bring in dies...and so do the workers.” Dez was good, his words immediately trapped her interest. Ignoring the rest of the words that tumbled from his mouth she strode forward staring at the forest harder. Talking to herself she said, "Perhaps an acid fog that only appears at a certain hour. Would explain the workers missing, but not the machines. No no more a methane gas pocket. Workers get lost in the fog, machines stop working, people see stuff they normally wouldn't. Could even open sinkholes to make stuff disappear." She stared lost in thought at the forest watching fog billow around the trunks of the trees. Unconsciously she corrected Dez's mispronunciation. "It's 'jee-ah ghwich,' means God be with you. Not really the greeting you were going for Dez..." Her thoughts were interrupted by a sudden punch to the shoulder. Surprised Astrid's head whipped up only to see her friend Sophia standing there. Smiling widely she grabbed her friend into a hug. "Hey Soph. Just figuring out the usual unusual." Pulling back she nodded her head towards the forest. "I'm thinking methane..."

"ASTRID?" The sound of Nicole finally arriving home rang out through the room. Astrid's head was bent in concentration over her desk. Scattered across it were a series of mechanical parts, a box of matches, a bottle that might or might not have been opium, and a double bacon cheeseburger from the store down the street. Reaching over she grabbed another bite of the burger before yelling out in a some what muffled voice, "I'm in my room. Come on in and check this out." Turning around for Nicole to see she flicked a small red tipped match against the desk and watched it blaze up. The flame reached it's peak and gently drifted down till it was burning the wood. As she watched this she held her left arm perpendicular to her body and moved the flame closer to her body. "This is fucking amazing." Moving it another inch the flame reached the bottom of her skin and flattened itself out as it reached something it couldn't burn. The skin of her arm turned red and she could see her veins slightly through the semi-transparent skin, like when you put your hand over a flashlight. Looking up for the first time at Nicole she wore a massive grin across her face. "I'm not burning." To prove her point even more she stuck the match behind her right ear so that the flame would reach her hair. The licked up the stick of the match but refused to catch her hair on fire. Shaking her head Astrid watched the burnt out match fall to the floor. Her hands went to her head in amazement. "This... this is so fucking cool. Like... like you have no idea. This could change the world. I- I have to study myself. Figure out what exactly did this to me. What this even is. Imagine if I could do more than this..." She paused to let her words sink in. Turning around swiftly she put her fingers to her mouth in thought, "Maybe if I try it with opium." She stared at the bottle as if daring it to give her the answer she seeked. Without turning around she asked, "Have you ever tried opium? I was hoping it would relax me enough to expand my... power?" At the word another huge grin popped up on her face. "I have a fucking power. Hahaha this is fucking crazy." Turning with an almost crazed look in her eyes, "I want more!"
