Astrid waved at the two of them and then was gone. Where she stood before was suddenly vacant and the air around her quickly rushed to fill her place. At the dinning pavilion she picked up some pancakes and sausage. Pigs in a blanket were the best food hands down. For a moment she struggled with the sausage trying to maneuver it into place while holding the plate with her other hand. After a moment of rolling food, she cat on the corner of the table with the plate balanced on her knees to perfectly roll up the food. Being so concentrated on the delicious meal in front of her she didn't see someone approach her from the left.
"Um... hi? Astrid?"Instantly Astrid jumped, her plate of food going flying, her instinct causing her to teleport away. Moments later she appeared back standing on the table holding an aluminum baseball bat. Already the bat in her hand was mid swing at the person who had scared her. The camper caught the baseball bat in one massive hand, dents forming under his fingers.
"Shit Astrid, you don't have to try and kill me." It was then that she noticed who exactly it was. An Ares kid named Ray. He was nearly 7 feet tall, and pure muscle from head to toe. Ray was the type of kid that could win an arm wrestling match with his pinkie.
She yanked the bat back,
"Damn it Ray, you don't just sneak up on people like that!" He looked down at his giant chest, confused at how he could sneak up on people. He was used to an upfront approach, sneaking didn't work out when you were as big as him. Rolling her eyes, she threw away the bat. It was ruined now that it was bent like a used toothpick.
"I really liked that bat. It was a good bat. Very special.""Really?", Ray's slow voice drawled out.
"What? Oh no, I just grabbed it from a toy store. The handles made of foam." She moved to get off of the table and felt something squish beneath her feet. Looking down she saw a bowl of mashed potatoes, splattered across the table, nearby campers, and most importantly her shoe. She glared at Ray, as if it was his fault. It was his fault. He had scared her. That sort of stuff took years of a woman's life.
Kicking the bowl from her foot she jumped to the floor and shook her foot trying to rid her foot of the food. Still looking at her foot she spoke to Ray,
"So... did you have a reason for scaring me or did you really just want me to beat you up?" Ray stood there confused for a minute trying to figure out how this tiny pipsqueak could think she had a chance at beating him up. He was almost two feet taller than her.
"I... I um wanted to talk to you about our... arrangement. You... know my... medicine?" Blankly she looked at him,
"What the hell are you talking about. I don't have any medicine." The giant shifted from foot to foot, nearly whining,
"Come on Astrid! You know what i'm talking about! The meeedicine." He said it slower like it would help her understand what he was talking about.
Sighing she grabbed the enormous forearm and began to drag him out of the pavilion.
"Idiot. Of course I know what your talking about. Just uh... wait here." Ray's jaw hung open slightly while his mind caught up with the situation.
"I... uh..." Before he could say a word she was gone. When she got back she was holding a plastic baggy full of tiny pills. Steroids for the giant, like he really needed them. Suprisingly quick he snached the bag from her hand
"Thank so mu-" She cut him off before he could get out another word,
"Save it numbskull. I expect the green on my porch by tomorrow." Turning she paused thinking better. "
Green means money, just so you don't mess it up."
