Hogwarts: The New Professors

Hogwarts Castle, standing tall and majestic in the Scottish Highlands, carries an aura of ancient mystery and quiet anticipation just days before the arrival of its students. The castle’s stone walls, weathered by centuries of magical history, are bathed in the golden light of the late summer sun. Ivy creeps along the battlements, weaving through the cracks and crevices, as if guarding secrets long forgotten. The turrets and towers stretch toward the sky, their pointed spires piercing the clouds, while the countless windows glisten, some revealing soft glows of light within.

Inside, the corridors are silent, save for the faint echo of footsteps or the distant murmur of enchanted portraits conversing amongst themselves. The Great Hall, usually filled with the lively chatter of students and the clatter of utensils, is now a vast, empty expanse. The enchanted ceiling mirrors the ever-changing sky outside, currently a tranquil blue with wisps of white clouds. Long wooden tables sit in perfect alignment, ready to host the upcoming feasts, while the house banners hang proudly from the walls, their colors vibrant and rich.

The castle grounds are equally serene. The Forbidden Forest looms at the edge, dark and mysterious, its secrets veiled in shadow. The Black Lake, calm and glassy, reflects the surrounding landscape like a mirror, with the giant squid occasionally causing ripples as it lazily moves beneath the surface. The Quidditch pitch, with its towering goalposts, stands ready for the first practice of the season, the grass freshly cut and gleaming in the sunlight.

Hogwarts’ resident ghosts drift silently through the halls, their translucent forms gliding through walls and floating over staircases. Peeves, the mischievous poltergeist, seems to be taking advantage of the quiet, no doubt plotting his pranks for the new term. The castle’s house-elves, unseen but ever diligent, work tirelessly in the kitchens, preparing the first feast and ensuring that every corner of the castle is immaculate for the start of the school year.

An old tradition that many of the past professors had taken part in was an evening walk from the castle to Hogsmeade for a pre scholastics soiree. Hosted at the Three Broomsticks all professors were notified of this in their orientation letter which they got soon after they confirmed they were accepting the Hogwarts position.

Active Events

Currently a number of house elves are going through the castle looking for professors to let them know that lunch will be served in the great hall or could be brought to them.
@World Traveler

Hi, is my character accepted, or would more work need to be done?

You are all set sorry I didn't make that clear!
Good evening, Everyone!

I'm planning to start the opening post for our roleplay, which will take place three days before the official start of the term. Most new teachers likely arrived a few days earlier, but this day marks the official deadline by which all new staff were required to arrive.

P.S.

I'm planning to create a system where I'll detail three or four posts, each with a small title. I haven't decided yet if I'll use color or a symbol to distinguish them. Some of these posts will indicate that I'm available to roleplay as NPCs, while others will be open for anyone to jump in and drive the scene forward.
Pets are more than welcomed and encouraged for Professors.
@Thayr
Apologies for not making this clear.

The start of this role play will be a few days before the students arrive. I was making the greenhouse scene as an example of things I might post or share for people to engage in should they want to / have time to.
Just a heads up I plan to open up the IC sometime tomorrow or Friday. Will work on a few mini-posts to set up multiple scenes and whatnot for people to engage in.

Looking forward to this and for anyone wondering this is still open for other people to join.
Characters look great! Excited to see how these professors handle the incoming students!

Speaking of students I am going to ask the group.

Would you prefer I create a bunch of NPC's and whatnot for everyone to use, or would you like to create some of your own.

I am thinking I will be available to help with student writing, and people can request I write a little bit here and there for them to have their professor interact with.

At any time you are of course allowed to create and write in a student doing this and that, but I know for some that can be a little annoying so if need be I can write for a bunch of students as well.

Let me know what you are comfortable doing and what you might want help with or enjoy writing together on as far as students.

My thought is I might sometimes post silly 'facts' about the goings on and whatnot An example below.

"Tonight no less than 8 students were outside their common rooms. Some with romantic hopes and others with mischievous goals Some thought being away from the castle would work and are making their way to the Quidditch pitch while another group hopes to find the greenhouse unsupervised and lacking a patrol.

If someone were to then write 'my professor headed towards the greenhouse for their evening patrol I would ping them and ask if they would want me to roleplay as the students or if they would like to.

Anyway just spit-balling here. I will be on for most of the evening if other people want to chat more about this and anything else they might have!

Liam Wallox (26) Hufflepuff

Professor of: History of Magic & Muggle Studies

Biography: Liam's early years were unremarkable. Raised by his witch mother after his Muggle father passed away, he spent summers with his Muggle relatives, balancing both worlds. When he began Hogwarts, he blended in with his magical peers until his third year, when his mother insisted he take Muggle Studies. This rekindled his connection to the Muggle world, leading him to start the Muggle Appreciation Club—a haven for Muggle-born students that transcended house rivalries.

After graduating, Liam decided to fully immerse himself in the Muggle world. With the Ministry’s approval, he adapted his Hogwarts transcripts to attend a Muggle university, eventually becoming a Muggle history teacher in London. He maintained strong ties with the Ministry, aiding in Muggle-related situations, and even met with Muggle government officials on their behalf.

When Hogwarts needed a new Muggle Studies professor, Liam expressed interest only if he could also teach History of Magic, a position untouched for over a century. After negotiations, he became the first new History of Magic professor in generations.

Favorite Hogwarts Memory: In his 6th year at Hogwarts, the Muggle Appreciation Club hosted a World Cup watch party in the Great Hall, thanks to the Headmaster's approval. With help from professors, they managed to broadcast the final match. By the end of the game, the hall was packed with students excitedly watching. Since then, the World Cup has become a popular event hosted by the Muggle Club, though on a smaller scale.

Personal Held Opinions of Other Characters
{work in progress}

Miles Kennedy -
Kaiden Devarron -
Antonio Cifaretto -
Taenar Vetch Tygath -
Alvis Juneberry Hawes -
Seraphima Evelynne Rose -

Looking forward to meeting both your characters!
I totally get this!

One thing I would recommend is taking a read through each characters sheet and jotting down a few sentences as far as your own characters opinion of them. I say this cause most teachers will at least have some basic knowledge of the others as I believe everyone will have technically attended Hogwarts with some overlapping years or year lol
