Nationality: French Caribbean/Creole
Appearance:
Bio: Born in Trinidad, Arnaud grew up in the aftermath of an uncertain age-between the chaos in America, and the hotpoints erupting the world over, an age where the Caribbean was forced to fumble about in the dark, trying to find a new destiny-no longer could many of the nations there rely on European or american trade, support or tourists. Economic crashes become the norm, unemployment nearly a given for many. The world population fell.
And fell.
And fell.
Then, something unexpected happened. Cuba, long silent, long forgotten, seized the chance fate had given it with both hands-ushering in a new age for the Caribbean. Cuban soldiers stormed beaches, Cuban guns found their way into the hands of revolutionaries. Red flags were waved with pride for the first time in a century-communism, in what seemed to be the twilight of human existence, revived itself. The specter that had haunted Europe in the past had pulled itself from the brink of death. And it took the Caribbean. A new nation was founded, in one of the last green spots on Earth. The Federated Communist Republics of the Caribbean-regarded as a threat by other nations, an unpleasant reminder of the mistakes of the past-had been born.
It was into this nation that Arnaud was born-a native of the Communist Republic of Trinidad and Tobago-an FCRC member state. One of his first memories is of his home country being flooded by great hurricanes, and of parts of his home nation being consumed by the sea-for all that the Caribbean managed to endure the ravages of war, many of it's island nations could not resist the relentless rise of global sea levels. Having lost his parents, and much of his extended family in the disaster, Arnaud was raised as a ward of the state, but that was not the end of the matter.
This memory has stayed with Arnaud for his entire life-and inspired him to join the armed forces of the FCRC, reasoning that by serving the interests of the FCRC as a pilot-he might aid in acquiring new lands for the peoples of the Caribbean to flee too, if worst came to worst. While he could fly, no one in the Caribbean would be left behind when the next storm hit, the next time the waters rose.
He flew missions for FCRC expeditionary forces all over the region-from South America to the cold reaches of the north-he's flown against bandits, against other nascent nation states-the FCRC and Texas certainly had their share of scuffles-but the farthest he's ever been is, ironically, the place he's currently marooned in. Iceland. The FCRC overreached, and plagued by bandits and supply troubles, their nascent outpost on the island had be recalled. Bandits attacked, on the ground and in the sky, just as the boats were being loaded. Arnaud flew against them-and by the end of it, the boats were away, many of the bandits were dead-and Arnuad was out of fuel and forced to land.
Rescue, he's sure isn't coming-resources are a precious thing, and the FCRC, however much it might want too, can't launch a new expedition to save one man.
It's a harsh reality.
So now he's sitting in an abandoned base, out of fuel, slowly eating his way through his supplies and wondering if the cold or the bandits will get him first.

Waiting for the Great Leap ForwardsPLANE:
Name: R-1
BolívarDescription:
Extra Aircraft Notes: Designed to be produced in massive numbers, the R-1 Bolivar has the distinction of being one of the first homegrown plane designs fielded by the fledgling Federated Communist Republics of the Caribbean. The Bolivar is designed to be three very simple things-cheap, hardy, and reasonably effective. In the fine tradition of the AK-47, it succeeds with flying colors-while they're not amazing aircraft, they are competent, can be produced quickly, maintenance can be conducted with ease-and it can even make use of foreign produced parts, thanks to a dedication to functionality by the design team.
And finally, it's often said these planes would still fly even if you buried them in sand and dug them up a month after.
This is not inaccurate.
Plane Type: Jet
Weapons Descriptions:
1x Minigun
20x Nonhoming missiles
12x Bunkerbusters
4x Multi-role homing missiles
Weaknesses: Stripped down and basic in nature. The R-1 lacks many of the gadgets that aid the pilots of other nations-it focuses on functionality over pilot comfort. Due to this, it tends to struggle when faced with extremely high-tech aircraft. Normally, numbers would make up for this, but if it is a single R-1 against such a foe...
