Spartan Lucas Ryker

Ultimately, nothing about Lucas's loadout for the sabotage of the anti-air weaponry, though he did integrate a Promethean Vision module with his helmet. According to Shih, he wouldn't be able to run both his active camouflage and the vision at the same time due to power limitations, but that wasn't a problem he was concerned with. As he approached the hangar where the team was gathering to get ready to board, he racked a round into the chamber on his DMR and then stood quietly, humming to himself as he waited to get the mission started.

Infiltrator Comi likewise was waiting in the area with the phantoms, though she had arrived after Commando Tar'Mdalak. The mission, now that she had access to the briefing information she'd missed while the rest of Aegis Team was planet side, she could understand her response to Flint earlier, though for him, the Human-Covenant War was mostly just stories, if she understood things correctly. Her weapons had remained unchanged and her armor ability was still only the active camo module, as she saw no need for a hardlight shield during the first half of the mission. Stealth would prove more valuable.

I didn't give an answer right away, finishing up a deep-freeze on several of the nearby zerg. "No more than a kilometer down, especially in the creep. Stuffs not all liquid, but you already know that. Length of time isn't a factor, average temperature when I freeze things is well below 0 degrees Fahrenheit, nearly to absolute zero if I really push it. If you can get me to the network entrance, I can deep freeze it from there." Jerra was near me, her tail lashing out towards any mostly frozen Zerg that still managed to escape my ice storm. "Radius is...I'll say large. I've never pushed myself to the limits with it before."

[Terrance]

Drawing my own massive blade, I set out into the field, the weapon moving easily between everything that move in my expert hands. "He isn't kidding, they're easier to shatter than slice through or shoot. But..." Humming thoughtfully, I sigh and open a channel. {Frank, get a couple of the old Goliaths out here and have them open fire on the ice sculptures our friend is making.} After receiving an affirmative, I turn back to Uncle Stef. "I think they can handle clean up out here, we should head into finish off the remaining hive buildings."

From one side of the armory, where Ryker was going over his DMR and making sure the pieces of gear that were shipped to ship ahead of him were still in good order. At the same time, he was talking with Comi'Masam about the team and it's members. Or at least the ones who'd been put back on the team. A quick review of their roster revealed that one SPARTAN-III and the Mgalekgolo both weren't recalled to Aegis, but that was a risk that came with a joint team. As he finished running a cleaning swab down the barrel when he overheard the conversation between Shih and Commander Vael. Finishing the barrel swab, he quickly replaces the parts and approaches, spotting the crate and the goodies inside as he approached.

"Had a couple of buddies who served on Requiem, newer SPARTAN-IVs. They had limited chance to use the weaponry, but one of them got real good with with that Hard Light Shield module. Read the intel reports on the Promethean vision, so I'll be snagging one of those if no one has complaints."

Comi'Masam

Securing her SRS99 on her harness as well as her pistol and specially designed energy sword on her thighs respectively before joining the others at the crate and glancing in. A smile crossed her face as she picked up one of the modules. "Hardlight Shield, excellent for pushing up corridors and providing mobile, if temporary, cover in an open battlefield. Definitely my preferred module when an op goes south." Appraising the weapons, she shakes her head. "I don't much care for the Forerunner weaponry, lacks the power of a good plasma rifle or human assault rifle."
Comi'Masam

Comi nodded, offering a Swords salute before replying to Vael. "As is our way, Commander. I will go and prepare my gear for the mission." Giving another salute and then turns and heads for the door. Getting to know her new teammates could wait, as there was the mission to prepare for. Plus this opportunity would let her catch up with Spartan Ryker and get his take on most of the rest of the team thus far. She smiled slightly as she went, knowing that things would only become more interesting with a joint effort team that was more dedicated to the idea than Cerberus had been.

As the altercation between the human and the Commando came to an end, the Infiltrator finished arguing with the engineering crew and glanced over, narrowing her eyes at the General harness-wearing Sangheili before pulling up her datapad and tapping at it. After a moment, she paused, seeming to be reading it before stowing the pad quickly and approaching him and offering a salute in Sangheili fashion. "Pardon my rudeness, Commander," she spoke, the Scottish accent returning, " I dinnae realize you were mah new commanding officer when I was trying to save the marine from his own smart mouth." Pulling out her datapad again, she tapped it rapidly before Vael's would beep at him.

"Infiltrator Comi'Masam, formerly in service with Joint Operations Unit Cerberus. The same unit that Spartan Lucas Ryker came from, presuming that this is the well-spoken of Aegis Team." While she maintained a respectful tone and stance, but it was clear she'd spent time with the humans in several mannerisms and again in her accent. "I understand part of my transfer is due to Ryker, Commander."

Nearby, working with a pair of humans to get what they had affectionately dubbed the 'needle-hog' parked next to a Spectre so that it doesn't cause issues should the blockade runner come under fire, an Infiltrator glances over at the smart-mouthed marine. "Oi, lad, come on now. Commandoes aren't known for their sense of humor." Turning back to her task, she barks an order at a nearby Unggoy who was tapping away rapidly at a datapad. "You there, laddy! What's takin' engineering so long?"

Clearly she'd spent a lot of time around humans, specifically the Scottish. The Unggoy replied in a language that any listening humans could recognize as Sangheili. The Infiltrator growled in annoyance at the reply and waved a human out of the way as she headed for a wall communication before barking into it in rapid Sangheili.

Throughout all of Tar's speaking, Lucas didn't interrupt or reply, instead opting to let the Sangheili female get it all off her chest. However, when she asked for his word to keep ONI's claws off of her home, he nodded. "Stopping ONI from doing something? You can bet I'm all for doing so, without hesitation."

The transition to the blockade runner was done without much celebration or pomp and circumstance, which fit the SPARTAN-IV just fine as under the radar is the best way for their team to operate. As he walked off the pelican, not noting the person approaching from one side and the front of the pelican, he started to ponder how the others would handle working underneath Commander Vael'Virisusai. In the interim since now and their last mission as Aegis, Ryker had worked almost exclusively under the Sangheili warrior.

And while he had plenty of prior experience working primarily with the members of the Sangheili race, working directly under one had been both different and educational. So long as everyone could follow orders and do their part, he didn't imagine there would be many issues. However, as he headed for the armory to check on his weapons and make sure it was all up to par and clean, he couldn't help but wonder how well the human members of the team who hadn't worked under Sangheili before would take it.

While he remained curious as to why she was wearing a bulky coat, for the time being, Jake didn't dig, instead pulling out his phone to see where was available for them to eat on the coastline. "Well, seems that the Mermaid's Song is till available. Sound good to you?"

Royal Rumble in the Arena’d Jungle

Featuring Damian “Blades” Gerard, Roseletta “Black Rose” Griffonbane, Nolan “Ashen Ghost” Waltz, and Penny “The Phoenix” Hoft

Once all the S-Class mages had given their showing, or lack thereof in the case of Nolan, the announcer’s excited grin could be heard as he spoke the next sentence. “And with all our players on the field and their positions spoken for, LET’S GET READY TO RUUUMMMBBLLEEE!” Damian moved first, jetting forwards at an unanticipated speed towards Rose, the black bladed Ares Blade remaining in a sheathed position until the last possible moment, when it flashed out towards her abdomen, fire coating the blade.

”Infernal Opener!” The blade itself only lashed out momentarily, but the fire shot out like a spear as Damian pivoted and brought the katana down towards Rose in an overhead strike that was controlled and powerful.

While that was going on, Nolan’s eyes fell upon Penny. Well, they were supposed to put on a show so he better get started. Four spheres of red light, vicious, violent spirits formed behind him which was followed by tendrils of inky black ash swirling around the slayer and then the spirits. ”Ashen God’s Vengeful Bombs.” He held his hand forward and those spheres flew straight towards The Phoenix, but she would be in for a nasty surprise; as soon as she would move out of the way of the attack those spheres would follow her. Those vicious spirits were actively chasing her while Nolan was closing the distance between them.

“Oh Damian you shouldn’t have, I feel so special.”Teased Rose seeing Daimen being the first to attack her. She wasn’t a bit surprised, she was one of the newer one and her magic wasn’t exactly the best matchup against him. Her shadow darkened and expanded around her as he darted towards her. She bent a foot back before kicking it forward, allowing herself to fall backwards into the depth of her shadow that covered the ground he dashed on, avoiding the spear of energy and the strike before she reformed behind him holding her scythe over head “I got you now!”She said striking downward towards his back with full force in her swing.

Penny flicked her gaze around at the others, meeting Nolan’s eyes, she shifted and didn’t take her gaze from him. Watching. Ready. Waiting. As the four spheres of red light appeared, Penny was already settling herself into a defensive stance, fire once more rising from her as she watched them come straight towards her. She had no doubt that if she moved, they’d follow. She couldn’t help a slight smile tweak the corners of her mouth. No doubt Nolan was using them as a distraction- often a sound tactic.

Well, best to let him underestimate her.

Penny began to move- graceful, smoothly, through the air. The skies were hers, and she claimed them. Not for long. As the orbs missed her, she came back down smoothly, spinning and letting fire launch out in a whip, attacking the orbs as they came back towards her. She shifted slightly, letting her body turn towards Nolan once more, raising an arm.

Damian had to admit, he wasn’t expecting Rose to step into her shadow to avoid the attack, but then, she was a Shadow Magic user, so he should have expected something of the sort. Pivoting as she attacked, the katana that was his Ares Blade vanished to become the long handled Hercules Blade which he used to block the scythe blade and push the Shadow Mage back. Thanks to the boosted strength effect from the blade, Damian had created a fair amount of space and he used it to summon a Blade Rain, the many blades falling directly towards Rose’s position as he charged the wind element of his blade for another attack.

Well, Penny was not exactly right that he was trying to distract her; he was judging her reactions, testing how she would handle it while also applying pressure on her. The last thing in the world was that he was underestimating her; he was well aware of who she is and Nolan was certainly no fool.

Small bursts of ash released from the soles of his feet, propelling him further and further quickly until she was in blade’s reach. Ashes swathed around the sword and he swung upward from a crouched position though she should have noticed something was off; there was no actual intent on hurting her.

Rose expected as much from Daiman, figuring a simple swing to the back wouldn’t work, but it never hurt to actually try to confirm her theory. Rose held tight to her scythe allowing the strength of his push to open some space between them as she slid backwards, managing to keep on her feet. She looked up noticing the rain of blades before she raised her shadows in a dome around her to block the attack as well as sight of her, preparing for her next phase.

Penny shifted her stance, and in a swift maneuver, she removed her dagger from its sheath, raising it to meet Nolan’s sword- she could simply let the blade hit and cut her, let it heal, but she wasn’t one to waste her energy. She did nothing more than block it, knowing the dagger was no match for a sword. Part of her was amused- it was so easy to get distracted with Phoenix Song inside her- Fire and Ash. Was it intentional that they were facing each other, or a coincidence?

She stepped back, putting a bit more distance between them.
Spartan Lucas Ryker

Lucas didn't speak when Tar spoke, instead nodding and continuing on his way out of the briefing room. This whole thing stank of an ONI op, from the removal of Tar's older brother to the younger brother refusing to put himself at risk. In fact, as he stepped to one side to wait for the Commando, he eyed the ONI PO and his escort. Those two were ONI through and through, despite playing nice with the team thus far. If he had to guess, they probably had orders to make sure the team failed if it ever looked to be not worth the effort in the Intelligence agency's eyes. Same as they had tried to do to all the old black ops teams when the war ended. They weren't a necessity anymore, just a risk. We all knew too much... That wasn't to say that the two knew anything about the other issues, Ryker knew ONI too well to think that, but he could probably never bring himself to trust the organization again.

When the Commando stepped out, he matched her pace. "I understand that a lot of this has to do with Uztel has to do with Family Honor and the like. But you're needed alive, by a lot of your people. Don't do anything rash, especially if your brother is what they say he is. You know he won't fight fair or honorably."
Name:Comi’Masam

Rank (If applicable): Infiltrator

Species: Sangheili

Appearance: Standing at roughly 2.4 meters tall, Comi is a black skinned female Sangheili with a nasty scar down her left arm, a reminder from Covenant loyalists how they treat those loyal to the Arbiter. Her armor is that of your typical Spec Ops fighter, albeit painted red and blue to mark her better to allies and a slight alteration to the helmet, allowing for integration of the Human sniper rifle scope to her helmet feed.

When not in her armor, she can be found wearing a ceremonial robe of some kind, though she is never without a weapon of some kind, and this attire often comes with a plasma pistol.

Skills: Long range support tactics and close-combat tactics are her specialty, preferring the armor and shield penetrative power that the Human SRS99-AM carries over the beam rifle of the Swords of Sanghelios. She is also a skilled Ghost pilot, often using its speed to get in range of enemy forces and then unleashing a lethal burst of plasma fire.

Preferred Weapons/Equipment: SRS99-AM Sniper Rifle for long range engagements, with a modified Type-1 energy sword, with a larger guard on the outside and shorter inner blade, for close-quarters combat paired with her plasma pistol. For equipment, she uses active camouflage, though after the Requiem Incident, she also has been known to use a Hardlight Shield when needed. Also packs demo-charges for sabotage missions.

Background: Comi’Masam was born and raised on the colony world of Rahnelo, a planet with a tropical equator and snow and ice in every other direction, meaning that the swifter and more readily maneuvered vehicles of the Sangheili were preferred as they could handle the ways between settlements better. She herself was trained to fight from a young age, though only the males of her home were drafted and would be allowed to fight for the Covenant, that did not bother her at all. If she could defend her home when the time came, she would and that was all she needed.

However, as the years went on, the expected Human attack and invasion never came and Comi’Masam found herself bored on her patrols. Even after word reached them of the Prophets betrayal of the Sangheili and the fall of High Charity, she and the other warriors of her world who had not already left were told to remain, though the Kaidon of the largest settlement on Rahnelo did officially declare them loyal to Arbiter Thel’Vadam. It was this declaration of loyalty, or so many thought, that led to Prelate Tem’Bhetek attacking their quiet, out of the way world. Her first bouts of combat, real combat, were against the vicious, barbaric Jiralhanae of the Covenant Remnants, who wasted no time setting themselves upon the inhabitants of the planet. It was during this battle that a Jiralhanae gave her the gash wound on her left arm with the blades of his Mauler, roaring that traitors deserve no less, if not more, though he was disemboweled almost immediately after by the agile female. An earlier bombardment from their CRS-Class light cruiser ensured that the bastion compounds were unable to immediately come to the aid of the Keep, but they held the line all the same, despite high casualty numbers.

After the attack, and the subsequent capture of Kaidon Tulum 'Juranai and his two eldest sons, Comi joined the Scion and new Kaidon in boarding the Shadow of Intent and tracking down their father and brothers along with the Prelate and killing the San’shyuum for his treachery. After these events, during which it was discovered that Tulum and his sons were killed, she requested transfer to a more active front. She saw battle and missions all across Swords of Sanghelios space, trying to put down the last of the Covenant so that peace might finally truly reign. She even served time keeping the Jiralhanae contained on their homeworld, though it was no longer than a few weeks between deployments. Eventually, she grew bored once more, the repetitiveness of everything getting to her and she went to her commanding officer for a request to something new. The response was a placement in a joint SPARTAN-IV, Swords Special Operations team, where she met Spartan Lucas Ryker. Their time together saw them become fast friends, with many successful missions under their team’s belt. It was at his recommendation that she is now being transferred to Aegis, as well as at the request of their new Swords Liaison, Ethat’Lacalu, due to her skill at infiltration and sabotage.
