Shaking his head at the way the researcher proceeded to pass right the fuck out, Jason faced the Librarian, excitement churning in his belly. "Do you happen to know the area she's referring to? I was in the Deep Woods earlier, but...I gotta be honest, the number of webs and Ariados in there was impressive, even with the Scyther returning to the area. Or maybe an old map of the paths before Cipher messed things up?" Jason knew where he could go in with relative safety, though he was fully aware that he would want to remain vigilant for more Scyther looking to take him off the census when he got there. In fact, might not hurt to train up the team some, make them ready to throw down with whatever is waiting in the Deep Woods...

After getting an answer, and maybe a map, Jason would go out to train his team up before heading out to the Deep Woods to find the shrine that the professor had said was there. He would start with Slayer and just work through the team from there.

(Auto-train the whole team. Have Occisor wear down a Beedrill with Quick Attack and try to catch it when it looks weak.)

"I'd be happy to help in any capacity I can, miss. Any particular suggestions on what to look for?" Jason was eager to get started, hoping to maybe add helping to solve one of the great mysteries of the region as well as becoming the region's champion when the time came.

Still stunned by his inability to really understand, he nodded to the librarian and spoke to the woman again, this time getting to his point quickly. "Miss Jacqulyn, I'm here because I understand that you're looking into the stories about the shrine here in the forest and I was hoping to offer my assistance in some capacity. I just...was wanting to know what it was you already knew."
As the music, after several sets, began to wind down, Jenna would smile and bowed to the applauding guild members and the small amount of townsfolk who were also enjoying themselves. Karma, the bartender, was handing out drinks when the three who normally kept to themselves, or chased others off in Adelyn's case, began to cause trouble and she fixed them with a "don't you start a fight now" glare before moving to the next person. Jenna, of course, was giving a speech of sorts, though really she was explaining the plan going forward for the rest of the week. "We've invited an old friend here for a special event, but for now, let's talk about what we have going on. As you all know, there are a lot of jobs coming in, so, Rising Starborn, you know the drill by now; get a job, get it done, and come home safe and sound. The guard is asking for help in a couple of these jobs, what with the recent attack by that powerful bastard no one can find since, so don't turn them down if they approach you. Got more of the usual, deliveries and the like, so just do what you do and stay safe everyone!"

Following the librarian through the building, Jason watched the various students as work as they passed them each, chuckling at one who he watched struggle to stay awake and finish whatever it was he was doing, his eyes drooping and his head drifting forward before he would jolt back awake and rapidly resume typing before quickly fading again. In the time the aspiring champion could see him, this happened three times and each time drew a chuckle from him. He could remember his own late nights researching different types of Pokemon, their various strengths and locations, how close he was to see some of his favorites. Made him realize that without really meaning to, he'd set himself on the path to challenge a Pokemon League a long time ago, though his interest in it came naturally either way.

Upon seeing the desk Jaqulyn was sitting at with everything on it, he began to understand why the librarian said she had a habit of neglecting his basic needs and why he had been asked to tell her to sleep. And, judging from how tall a couple of the stacks were, telling her to eat real food might not be a bad idea either, but one thing at a time. After standing there a moment, he would clear his throat and speak. "Excuse me, are you Miss Jaqulyn?"
Jason Connor

"I'll...well, guess I should go see her then. I was told by the professor who said she was here to tell her to get some sleep. Does whatever you're talking about have to do with that?" Seems this girl was well known for...well, at least not sleeping thanks to her research. What else was there to do but go through with all of this.

Rising Starborn Guild Hall

The hall was alive with the sounds of guild members mixing and mingling, clients and guild hall bar patrons coming and going and also laughing and talking with the guild members. The last couple of years Jenna and the founding members of the guild had put in a lot of work to begin showing the townsfolk and guardsmen that the immigrant mages that made up the guild were not only good people but genuinely and truly wanted to help them with their problems and for the most part, that’s exactly what happened. While it was well known that there were a few members of the guard that still believed that the immigrant mages were more dangerous than they showed themselves to be, the town and bulk of the guard were either indifferent or enthusiastic to have the guild there.

Jenna herself was busy helping a group of the guild’s mages get set up with some instruments and a couple of microphones and humming to herself. One of the mages, who was testing the drum set that they’d just set up, heard her and smiled. “You’re looking forward to this, eh boss?” The mage in question was well known in the guild; one Trent Enroar, the Knife Trick mage. He and a few the other members of the guild, who were all on stage with various instruments, had been meeting with Guild Master Jenna for about a month and a half now. She herself stood from making sure the microphones were set up right and grinned, the elongated fangs she bore as a side effect of her magic showing.

“Course I am. When was the last time we got to put on a show?” Trent chuckled as the rest of the band finished their sound checks and she took the front center position on the stage, her red hair practically glowing under the performance lights as she stood at her full seven foot, 4 inch height as the band started strumming and she took the microphone off it’s stand. “Ladies and gentleman of the Rising Starborn and the lovely town of Rembrandt, today, for the first time in five years, me and the band get to perform and it’s for all you wonderful people! Enjoy!” As the band properly started in on the intro for the song, Jenna’s vocal power kicked in.

"Oh no, I just keep on falling (Back to the same old)
And where's hope, when misery comes crawling? (Oh my way, eh)
With your fate, you'll trigger a landslide (Victory)
And kill off this common sense of mine
And it takes acquired minds
To taste, to taste, to taste this wine
You can't down it with your eyes
So we don't need the headlines
We don't need the headlines, we just want
(We want the airwaves back, we want the airwaves back)
Everybody sing
Like it's the last song you will ever sing
Tell me, tell me do you feel the pressure now?
Everybody live
Like it's the last day you will ever see
Tell me, tell me do you feel the pressure now?
Right now, you're the only reason (I'm not letting go, oh)
And time out, if everyone's worth pleasing (Well ha)
You'll trigger a landslide (Victory)
To kill off the finite state of mind
And it takes acquired minds
To taste, to taste, to taste this wine
You can't down it with your eyes
So we don't meet the headlines
No, we don't want your headlines, we just want
(We want the airwaves back, we want the airwaves back)
Everybody sing
Like it's the last song you will ever sing
Tell me, tell me do you feel the pressure now?
Everybody live
Like it's the last day you will ever see
Tell me, tell me do you feel the pressure now?
Everybody sing
Like it's the last song you will ever sing
Tell me, tell me do you feel the pressure?
Alright, so you think you're ready?
OK, then you say this with me, go:
We were born for this (We were born for this)
Alright, so you think you're ready?
OK, then you say this with me, go:
We were born for this (We were born for this)
We were born for this (We were born for this)
We were born for, we were born for
Everybody sing
Like it's the last song you will ever sing
Tell me, tell me can you feel the pressure?
Everybody live
Like it's the last day you will ever see
Tell me, tell me can you feel the pressure now?
Everybody sing
Like it's the last song you will ever sing
Tell me, tell me can you feel the pressure?
Tell me, tell me can you feel the pressure?
We were born for this (We were born for this)
We were born for this"

Her body moved smoothly and in rhythm with the song, almost perfectly and the band complimented her perfectly. They finished the first song and moved on to the next, the Amazonian guild master singing each song with the moves to match. The bar tender, one of the guild’s founding members, smiled to herself. “Bloody show off, she is.” A patron over heard and smiled at her.

“Jealous, Karma?”

“Hardly, just get a chuckle out of her over the top personality.” All around the main floor of the guild hall, the different members were having their own reactions, though most danced along.
Spartan Lucas Ryker and Infiltrator Comi'Masam

Leading a group of warthogs and a couple of other needlehogs, Ryker and Comi were already inside the breach, lighting up any infantry that they could see. However, once they were inside the walls, the needlehogs were in a very different situation, as their munitions were worthless against the walls and heavier protections offered by the urban environment. The warthogs equipped with standard armaments would have the penetration to clear out walls without having to risk their crews, but Ryker and the other needlehogs were going to have to hope they could catch the defenders between positions as they raced through the streets. {Light armor group is inside the walls and doing what we can to push back the city defenders. What's the plan for securing the buildings as we move? Needlehogs are good against infantry, but not much else.}

Comi, meanwhile, was lighting up every Unggoy, Kig-yar, and Sangheili that exposed themselves long enough to take more than a couple of needles, keeping any of them holding anti-tank weaponry from getting an actual shot on both the Warthogs and the approaching scorpions and wraiths.

As he walked, Jason let out a low whistle at all the scholarly types walking around the area and stopped to look around a moment. Starbor seemed to have everything, but somehow it wasn't the capitol of the region. Well, that actually makes sense on second thought. Where would they put the Professor's lab for starters? First he set to exploring a little bit, seeing if there were any Pokemon that made their home down here amongst the learned before setting to asking, or at least trying to ask, various professors if they could point him to the person who was looking into the legend of the shrine. As he approached the first of the professors he could see, Jason was sure of two things; one, that there were good odds that he would get laughed at at least a few times for chasing a legend and two, that he'd be confused for a student, even though he had Slayer resting on his shoulder to help try and ensure that didn't happen.

However, he didn't get to ask the first professor he saw anything as a sudden throng of students exiting their classes separated him and the educator from each other and the person managed to disappear into the mass of bodies, leaving Jason to find someone else to ask. If none of the professors could direct him to the researcher hunting for the shrine, he would head to the library and see if the librarians knew anything, but hopefully it wouldn't come to that.
The year is X903 and magic has seen a spread from its former primary centralization in the kingdom of Fiore. Over the last hundred years, the mage guilds of Fiore have begun to centralize their power bases and job requests and for many mages of many walks of life, that did not sit well as it grew more and more common. Ten years ago, in the year X893, in response to the growing outcry of wizards who had no desire to be ‘corporatized’ as it was called, Fiore’s Magic Council authorized any wizard with a desire to leave the country to do so. At this same time, other countries were allowing similar immigrations, as they hoped to snag magics that either hadn’t yet appeared in their country before or was incredibly rare. Many mages from Fiore found themselves migrating towards the Kingdom of Pergrande, a militaristic country where, until the immigrants began arriving, magic was a rarity and those who had it were essentially made Lords of the land and given the title of War Mage. While these War Mages were not particularly fond of the sudden uptake of magic due to the immigrants from Fiore and other countries, they were willing to work with them and help them adjust.

However, many of these mages made it clear that there were many of the militant kingdom’s laws that they did not agree with and would not respect if they were forced to. Among them was concerns of what magics were declared ‘evil’ by the royalty of the kingdom, primarily various Slayer magics and any magic that “tampered or affected the spirits and minds of the target or targets.” This scope included many celestial mages and Shaman magic practitioners, who spoke out in response to finding out about these laws. Brief skirmishes were had between the mages and royal army and nearly saw all the mages kicked out before the War Mages found a solution that both sides agreed upon. Shaman magic practitioners were made exceptions and celestial mages were no longer designated as magic that fit the criteria of evil magics.

The reason the celestial mages were classified under evil magic was because of a fundamental misunderstanding of celestial magic itself within the Kingdom of Pergrande due to a lack of celestial mages within the kingdom. Ultimately, the immigrated mages are left to their own devices so long as they are not disruptive. Many have tried to start new guilds within the kingdom, or at least small groups and communities that they can all rely on, but many of the people of the kingdom are resilient to relying on the new mages for more dangerous jobs that have had mortality rates before. “They’re outsiders, they can’t be trusted.” Every time they would offer to take a more dangerous job over for the guards, so that they could be with their families, those were but two of the many arguments against it. Many of the War Mages have advocated that with the arrival of new mages and magics there needs to be a reevaluation of many of the kingdom’s stances, but just as many, along with nearly all the nobility, including the Royal Family, refuse to see it that way.

What stories will be told in this new realm of possibility and royal intrigue? Only time will tell as the immigrant mages try to build their lives in a new home.

Upcoming new guild-Rising Starborn

Based in the town of Rembrandt within the Pergrande Kingdom, this up and coming guild is led by Jenna Wolfsbane, a master of Takeover magic using a variety of wolf-based forms. The guild recently came to be well known for taking over a larger range of jobs since the town guard’s recent decimation by a powerful and unfamiliar monster, as well as respected by many in the town for doing what they can to help the town and its people. However, they still face many challenges, as most townsfolk are merely indifferent to them and wouldn't come to their defense the way the guild would them.

And now, of course, the rules.

  • 1. Standard rules of Roleplaying apply, no mary/gary-sues, god-modding or powerplaying etc.
  • 2. This is not a completely serious Roleplay, Fairy Tail-esque humor will be involved, things such as the ridiculous magic and personalities are allowed and to an extent expected but don't bog down the Roleplay by putting jokes where they don't belong or being downright offensive.
  • 3. Absolutely no canon characters or copycats. Similar magic is allowed, but original magic is encouraged and appreciated. There’s a lot we never saw in the show.
  • 4. If you have been absent for an extended period of time and wish to rejoin the RP, please ask in the OOC before doing something in the IC. If you wish to make a new character you may, but only two characters in total are permitted per player.
  • 5. Remember we're creating a guild, not everyone is going to be as powerful as Gildarts or have the potential to become the next master like Laxus, some will never be stronger (Macao and Wakaba for example aren’t necessarily weak, but they don’t gain strength).
  • 6. There is a TWO POST rule, meaning that you have to wait for two separate posts before posting yourself, though this will be flexible.
  • 7. Remember have fun and help make this an enjoyable Roleplay!
