"My daughter asked me to put her shoes on. How ridiculous, they would never fit me! ”
Comedic Genius. Stay-At-Home Father.
Aaron is by no means a small man. His bulky figure combined with his height of 6’3” make him quite an intimidating figure. Someone unfamiliar with him would likely be wary of the severe looking man. But anyone who knows Aaron, knows that his intimidating outer appearance is not at all a reflection of the lovable goofball. He’s a dad through and through, loving a terrible dad joke or cringeworthy pun, and of course thinking he is the most hilarious person alive.
Being a Stay-At-Home dad may not appeal to some men, but Aaron loves it. He loves being able to spend his days hanging out with his kids, tormenting his with his wife with his awful jokes, or working on his hobbies while the family is at school and work. In his spare time, Aaron enjoys writing, or attempting to at least. He has never stuck with a project long enough to finish it, or showed anyone but his wife, but he enjoys it nonetheless. He’s also found quite an enjoyment of video games, particularly sports sims World of Warcraft, although he would never admit that to anyone else. God forbid someone thought he was a nerd!
Family is the most important thing to Aaron. Nothing takes precedence over being a caring father and a loving husband. He knows he can’t do a lot, but he does everything that he can, always making sure that his family comes first, and trying to teach his kids the same values. He always makes sure that the family sits down for dinner together every night, and enforces a weekly movie night.
Stubborn and insecure.
Aaron grew up in New York in a family far too big for their income. He was the youngest of five children, and often felt overlooked and neglected. All he wanted is for his parents or older siblings to pay attention to him, but they were all too busy with their own issues. This led to some questionable behaviour as he grew up, often lashing out and getting into fights for attention. As he got older, he promised to himself that if he were to ever start a family, he would make sure to treat them like one.
In High School, Aaron discovered a love of Ice Hockey. He enjoyed the fast pace and brutality of the sport, and showed potential very early on. He led his High School team to victory every year that he was there, and earnt a full scholarship when it was time to move onto College. He continued to thrive in the sport throughout College, attracting a lot of attention. Although, that wasn’t the most important part of his time there. He met a girl. A hard working, academic who at first, showed no interest in him whatsoever. But they continued bumping into each other all over campus, and eventually started to get to know each other. That’s when they started to fall for each other. Opposites attract, so they say.
The end of his Senior year provided a difficult choice for Aaron. Continue his career in Ice Hockey, which was more than promising, or settle down with (wife) and start a family. They decided together, that they could do both. After graduating, Aaron and (wife) got married, and quickly fell pregnant with their first child. For years, they made it work, with Aaron playing in the NHL and (wife) putting aside her entrepreneurial dreams for a while to be a stay-at-home mother. It wasn’t until the championship game of his 5th year in the league that things came crashing down.
After a nasty accident during the game, Aaron was left with a permanent injury in his left leg, leaving him unable to continue his career. He was devastated at first, falling into severe depression for several months later. It took him awhile, but once he started to recover, he saw the silver lining. He may not be able to go back to Hockey, or even start a new career, but he could be the father to his children that his father never was. He decided to put all of his time and energy into his family, and that allowed (wife) to start her own career. Now, several years down the line, the pair have 4 children, and have decided that it’s time for a change of scenery. With the money he had saved from his years in the NHL, the family bought a house in a lovely neighborhood in Albert Bee, Kansas. Honeycomb Lane.
Of course, Aaron still misses Hockey from time to time, but he wouldn’t give up his family for anything in the world. He often worries that his injury prevents him from being the best dad he can be, regretting not being able to run around and play sports with his kids like other dads do, and often gets quite frustrated at himself for not being able to do be as active as he would like. He can be quite stubborn at times, not liking to ask for help or admit when he’s wrong. Not being able to provide for or protect his family should things ever go wrong also scares him, not that he’d ever admit any of this to anyone besides his wife. He’s terrified of seeming vulnerable, or not being able to be a sturdy role model for his kids. His wife is the only one to ever see the more fragile side of him.
