@Lilygold A DSC is a Distinguished Service Cross, the second highest medal available to US Army soldiers [Maybe I should have emulated Britain? If so, it would be a George's Cross]. He's proud of his decorations, and I liked the idea of him never mentioning his purple heart [the medal one gets when one is injured in combat].

I asked if Kara wants to have Elise be related to Arthur, but I don't really see an in with Yuu. If you have an idea, please let me know. I'm always looking for character friendship
@vancexentan

I'm not sure that particular definition fits. Some of it does, most does not.
God I always hated the DnD morality system. Arthur is certainly not Chaotic, he wants the empire to rule the world because nation states create wars and wars kill people.

As for Evil, eh, probably? I'll be making sure his goals are relateable at least, and his reasons marginally sound, though "absolute world domination-enforced peace" could be called evil depending on what school of thought you subscribe to. It is certainly a bad idea if you ask me. Not sure it's evil.
@karamonnom

Wait why didn't I think of that. Why not be attached to the 89th? They're just working as OPFOR and counter-insurgents, they would be the perfect unit to help field test new knightmares and to act as caretakers for the engineer. This would of course not necessitate you letting the 89th play with your new nightmare. You could have a relationship with some hotshot ace NPC in the division or something.

Also, @vancexentan, I think Arthur is going to feel original. The idea of him I have in my head certainly does, perhaps it did not come across in the CS. Have faith that he'll play well and be both unique and entertaining. I think the #1 thing to remember is that Arthur has no world-changing ambitious plans for the moment: amassing power and assuming either indirect control over Britannian politics or direct control over Britannian military might is his only real goal at the moment. That, and annexing the Chinese Federation, of course.
I'll get the history done tonight, start the countdown. I am giddy to get started.

EDIT: First draft of the History written. It's vanilla, but I guess that's sort of the direction I'm taking Arthur: a talented man within the machine, normal save for ability and ambition.
Sad I got here late. This looks like it would be interesting if you're somehow still looking for people.
Sounds reasonable, Vance. I'll shift it around to make Arthur's pursuit more active. I figure if he's stuck in some backwater until war starts again, and his only method for promotion is to catch turr-ists, then Jack would be on that hit list which would be pursued avidly, presumably near the top for plot reasons.
Up to you, @ClocktowerEchos. I just figure that a relation between them is too easy to miss
Sounds good to me.
Idea: the unit Nagamasa attacked was a battalion commanded by Arthur, thus making him responsible for Jack's mentor's death. Arthur would of course not know who Jack is, but I expect it would not be too hard for a person, hungry for vengeance for the murder of his friend, to find out the name of the commander of a battalion. It would lead to a fun dynamic when our characters eventually meet.

Perhaps the small gang has been troubling Arthur's reluctant pacification attempts, so there would be some initial tension going the other way, too.
