I'm sorry to say that I just won't have time for this RP for at least another week. In the interests of not holding everyone up, I reckon it would be best for me to just drop out now.
Sincere apologies, finals are harder than I thought.
Those are excellent suggestions! Unfortunately, finals are gnawing at my free time, ask updates may take a while, but once they're done and dusted I'll resume posting semi-regularly
EDIT: Predicted next update is coming late Wednesday or Thursday. GET HYPED.
General Location of Operation: True Knight, Usually in the Northern Holy Roman Empire, Occasionally venturing into the lands of the Commonwealth or onto the shores of Britain
Preferred Dialogue Color: Gerhard may have abandoned the Swedish Crown, but his text has not abandoned its color
Height: 6 feet 2 inches
Weight: 12 and a half stone
Appearance: Gerhard’s past is clearly visible in his appearance. One can regard him as one does a relic of the past: in differentiating what is original and what is new, a complete picture can be gained. Gerhard’s appearance is the symptom of proud nobility slowly eroded by danger, poverty and experience. His height identifies him as a noble, his muscular, healthy form an indicator of a noble’s diet. The new leanness, the weathered skin and poorly-managed hair shows his years on the road, locked in combat with inhuman threats. His blonde hair and emerald-green eyes mark him as a Swede, his messy stubble and foreign motley detritus of his long absence from his home country. He carries himself with dignity, a straight posture and good manners. He speaks well in multiple languages, but is quick to laugh and boast, and has the usual cautious hostility of wanderers. He is missing teeth, one removed by a Cossack and the other two by an irate werewolf, and he is missing the smallest finger on his left hand.
General, non-combat, Apparel: Gerhard wears road clothes. Sturdy boots, warm, thick trousers and woolen shirts. He is fond of his tricorn hat, and the thick woolen cloak, his constant companion. He still keeps his blue tunic, his only relic from his service to the crown, and he wears it when the weather turns particularly inclimate.
Armor and Weapons: Gerhard is a man who firmly believes that a hunter should be ready for whatever he is required to do, and loads his horse for the task. He is rarely parted from his sword, an Austrian saber of impeccable design, of which he is quite fond. He has always respected British gunsmithing, and carries a British musket and pistol with him whenever he expects danger. When fighting ahorse, a long spear of uncertain origin but deadly appearance is his choice against monsters for whom the reach of saber is too intimate. He wears the armor of a cuirassier, occasionally supplementing it with a coat of chain when the threat warrants it.

Likes: French cuisine. Fencing. His horse, Adolphus. Dancing. Sunday Mass.
Dislikes: Papists. Russians. Pixies. Naval Voyages. Large Cities.
Fears: Hell. His own weaknesses and failures. Heights. Death.
Specialization: Grim. Gerhard believes he is capable, and believes God would want those who can do good should do it.
Magic: Very little. He has had success increasing his own reflexes, and has recently been trying to use magic to increase his strength to moderate success.
History: Born the third son of a minor noble family, Gerhard faced a traditional choice. He would inherit very little: he could enter the clergy, learn a trade, or enter the military. Gerhard’s fascination from an early age with swordplay and horseback riding made the choice for him, despite his deep religiosity. His father found him fencing masters and taught him to ride, and on his 16th birthday, in the Year of Our Lord 1716, he joined the armies of his nation as heavy cavalry in their Great Northern War. He actually saw Charles XII die on the field at Fredriksten. He saw action at Oregrund, at Gotland and at Staket, ending the war among the most veteran soldiers under arms. He was furious when Nystad was announced. He was shocked at Sweden for giving up, for losing its will to keep fighting the Russian oppressors. He wanted nothing more than to keep fighting, to make the Tsar pay for the humiliation of mother Sweden. His impotent rage turned to disappointment and disillusionment, and he found himself unable to return to his normal life in service of a government which had let itself slip so far into decay. Sweden was no longer a great power, and Gerhard was no longer proud to call himself a Swede. He found solace in Christ, for a time. He even considered becoming a priest, serving his God with his every breath. A dream changed that, a realization that literate men of faith were numerous, and strong warriors for the Cross were few. Gerhard has tried to convince himself that this was a dream, or a spark of inspiration, rather than a message from the Father, but deep down he remains convinced. He knew that he could serve God better fighting the abominations of Cain and Lucifer, and petitioned to join the knighthood in 1722. For the last four years, he has roamed the states of northern Europe, fighting the foulest monsters he can find, each vanquished aberration a prayer given to the Lord his God.
