It was good. Except for the fact that the makers thought people actually cared about what the humans were doing while Godzilla rekt shit.

While I understand the teasing was slightly annoying, especially the first time Godzilla throwed down with the male MUTO, I thought the movie was great with it's suspense. And also, I cared more for the humans in this than I did in Pacific Rim. I only wished Brian Cranston was alive longer, then that would've been much better. Also there's one little fact people often forget about Godzilla, the original and other of his big name appearances he didn't appear until the final act of the movie. But then again, it's all about opinions.

Yeah I really liked how much it reminded me of the first movie, especially Godzilla's design. Nothing like that other American Godzilla bullshit. Not sure how I felt about his brontosaurus feet though.

Like the thing with War of the Worlds, where when it was shown, people actually thought it was happening.

If you read the first sentence without watching the movie, shame on Darog. If you read the whole thing without watching the movie, it's your own fault.

Not really,Normally people, especially for things that just came out, would put that kind of information into a spoiler. Squee was most likely reading through here to see if she should go see the movie. So when we're all talking about our opinions of the movie, and the paragraph with the spoiler embedded in it is talking about their opinion of the movie, she expects to read a paragraph giving a good opinion and review of the movie. Most people read threads expecting spoiler information to be hidden away, because of common courtesy. And you can't say that she should have stopped reading after the first line. It was very cursory and isn't really a spoiler. Also it's shown in the trailers that "Godzilla throws down with a MUTO" whatever the fuck a MUTO is anyway. So the fault here is not putting a spoiler in a spoiler. I was going to point it out, but Squee found it first.

I quite enjoyed the movie.I didn't mind they had a lot of build up to the monster fights, 'cause it builds suspense that way and it makes the eventual showdown that much better. They were kind of going with the whole Alien/ Jaws thing where you didn't see the monster much until near the end, so there's always that fear of the unknown thing going on. The story was engaging, anyways, and Ken Watanabe is always awesome. ...I feel like watching Letters from Iwo Jima again now. Anyways, as long as you don't go in expecting Pacific Rim with constant monster fights, you'll probably enjoy the movie. Besides, I think most people bitching about the lack of monster fights probably never seen the older Godzilla movies. He took FOREVER to show up in those.
