OOooooooooooooooooo that sounds like a challenge! You seem like the type who either fights like a joke, having the most fun ever with it, or is absolutely ruthless. Im gonna go with both. I happen to pride myself on my creativity too. If you ever need something to do, you should totally join in. I'd be hella interested to see what you do.And I feel you on being around jerks. Im friends with LeeRoy, and let me tell you, he's grade A dried beef strips.

I'll probably roll up a character to use in this. Like I said before... I don't know how much time I'll have, particularity due to summer being right around the corned, and that's the busiest time of year for me... but, I'll have to give it a shot anyways. I wish we had some cached pages of one of the WOTW tournaments from Old Guild. XD You probably would have loved the Chibi Trio; Lynx, Tynx, and Rynx :) One of my favorite group of NPCs you'll probably see occasionally accompanying some characters of mine.

Would probably be most accurate.

Or perhaps 'too lazy to resize the image to fit'

There are some cached files on the internet. I forgot what websites have them available, but there is backup I believe for about a year back for almost all websites. I went on a snapshot of old threads in the 2006 Roleplayer Realms where I first rped at. I'm sure some of the old arena stuff is available. Somewhere.

So.

I don't want to deny the viability of high-freqency vibartion weapons, but as far as my knowledge goes, oscillisation in a sword causes unwanted energy loss, resulting in worse cutting ability , and the same goes for projectiles, the use of slanted armor against long-rod penetrators being a good example of how the change in trajectory induced by the vibrations will impede the projectiles power. I do understand that such high frequency vibrations won't even be visible to a naked eye, but still do belive that cutting weapons may not benefit from them.

Lets discuss?

BTW, ultrasound plastic welding is actualy a thing. And friction induced heat, thanks to which the welding happens, isn't exactly what one values in a sword or bullet, eh?

I assumed as such.

I usually fight in around the Tier 5-7 Range. Which, I think for how they have the tiers set up these days, would be in 'High Tier'.

Speaking of which, I still prefer the numbered tiers, but I know a lot of people don't care too much for em. XD I'm old school.

Yea, I know. I had tried looking through some stuff at one point in time... it's really a pain though. XD

I agree on the high tier preference. I always get shit from a particular someone for having a powerboner, but I just find that high level characters are the most fun and varied.

IMHO, high tiers are also harder to balance, sometimes giving rise to arguments.

BTW, what are your opinions on my vibro waepon babble? Shall we be more strict with this kind of stuff, or let this pass as a rule of cool? I see viable options of using such weapons, but their use as cutting melee and projectiles nags me.

I completely disagree. High Tiers are actually relatively easy to balance. On Vibro weapons... it's just silly. XD You can't have a solid object at a high rate of vibration, expecting it to do anything at all... Now, energy at a high vibration level.. may be a possibility. or even a weapon giving off a high amounts of vibro energy.

Just like with anything, balancing a high tier character is simply a matter of inventiveness, experience, and skill. Also, hiya Guru, been awhile, though I'm not sure if you even remember me lol.

Oohh, it seems Arkaeis has a guest on Angar-Rylla...*smiles evilly* wonderful~

Vordak, I've edited Arp's sheet.

Also, I refer all of you slamming on Vibro weapons to the Friction Drill. Found Here.

An immediate buildup of friction from vibrating weapons is the dangerous part. While this is rotating, the principal still stands.

Irrelevant. That is not vibration. That is High Pressure and High rotational speed. Vibration is not a distinct pattern.

Still a distinct pattern. Vibration from this is simply the result of combining the hammer to a hard service that is resistant to being broken and not of it's own accord.

What the heck are you talking about? Vibration is a repeated pattern of movement and resonance, a jackhammer is the premier example of vibration utilized in a tool. Apply the same concept to a weapon and it would work the exact same way because the only thing it would be used against is flesh.
