*blergh* Not so much eerily quiet [for my part], as just lightly snoring because I inadvertently slept in today... >.>

And if you need anything Limey, just always feel free to PM Heroes. Looking forward to your post :)

Well I hope so Serge Darling, your last IC post was over 2 weeks ago. :(

Well, that's not entirely true, but your point is made.

I should probably point out that I don't have free roaming access to the internet in my home as I did in school. Generally I post things from the Library. Maybe I'll get something up today, if I'm inspired. I get the feeling that I don't necessarily need to post in order for the story to move on, so I might just let that happen instead. We'll see.

An internet connection is certainly one thing, but the other part of you statement, I will admit, irks me. You don't need to post for the story to move on. Hell, I could write the entire thing myself, print it out, slap a cover onto it and call it a novel. The reason I don't do that is because I like to participate in a RP where I have the pleasure to react and create upon the work of others, and I assume that is why you're here as well.

If you are not inspired, not enjoying the RP, than don't post. I am not a proponent of filler text, so I'm not demanding that of you by any stretch. What I am saying is that if you're going to be a part of a team based creative endeavor, which is what an RP is, than have the courtesy to participate with some alacrity. Before the long weekend you asked for suggestions regarding what to post, and I believe I responded with several very viable options for Gabe to pursue, one of which involved the inclusion of another character that has been absent IC for some time.

I can understand if this RP doesn't pique your interest, I truly do. No story will ever stir inspiration in everyone, and that is totally fine. What is frustrating is to read promises for posts that don't come, especially when they are worded with the same level of desire as one might place in removing gum from the bottom of their shoe.

I am sorry that my words annoyed you so much. I am also sorry that I've, inadvertently, damaged the cordial relationship we've had so far.

I must make some things clear however. Writing, for me, is a holistic process. I sit down and devote all of my attention and effort to it. I've recently returned home, where my family is having financial issues and I don't have constant access to the internet (I need to walk a dozen blocks to the library if I want to even look at this page). So, though the internet is not the primary reason that I haven't posted, it is important to remember, and it certainly does not help.

It is true, I asked for suggestions, and I was given suggestions. Not that I don't appreciate them, but I don't find them appealing, so I decided to think of something else. The issue is, the things that i would write about in my next post amount to almost nothing. Gabe has had no emotional ties to anything that's happened, he's been simply reacting. Perhaps it is my fault that I am not inspired by the events that have taken place, and I will accept that burden gladly, but I feel a little insulted that you find my ignorance to be infuriating. As you said yourself, you don't like filter text, and neither do I. But aside from that you question my devotion to the story. I'll have you know that the posts that I've written for this RP have been some of the most thoughtout things I've written (not that that's saying much) for any RP, and I take the things I write here very seriously-- which is one of the reasons I have not posted.

Lastly, I'm very sure that the only time I have not delivered on a post I promised was very recently (the time in which I've been sick and a little depressed). As I said before, my RP writing is a holistic process, I try to find something in myself to project outward while doing so, something meaningful. It is very difficult to do so while you're in the dumps.

So, once again, I'm sorry that my behavior has come off as flippant to you, as I strive to remain as dedicated as possible in any RP I take part in. I am also sorry that I could not live up to your standards of a dedicated RPer.

(All that being said, provided I'm not kicked out, the schedule has not changed. I might have something up today, it might be tomorrow, either way it will be within the next couple of days)

I don't believe "irksome" or "frustrating" translates to "infuriated" Serge, and certainly not on Heroes' part. He always says exactly what he means. Nor do I think that it falls under Heroes' GM expectations alone, or some overblown standard of RPers in general, to ask that people either post within a reasonable timeframe or when they say they will, or if that's not possible? To speak with the GM personally via a PM, or let all the players know in the OOC if they cannot.

Telling someone "I'm sorry you find my words/actions annoying" is very much the same thing as saying "I'm sorry you misunderstood me" - basically a non-apology apology that implies "too bad you're too dumb to get what I'm saying here." When I read your first OOC post, the impression that Heroes got is exactly the same one I had too. That may or may not have been the impression you were trying to give in either of your two previous posts, but one should always put far more consideration into text-only communication.

And for what it's worth, for some of the folks around here there isn't a single new thing you can add concerning the topic of depression - and certainly not the clinical kind. It's no joke. But if you're insistent you find something within to pull out, then I imagine Gabe - left to his own devices by God to make his way in the world, and try to carve out what society he can - might feel crushed by the weight of his new responsibilities, or desperate to prove that he can be an asset to this new group of people he has suddenly been thrust into. Rather emotional moments, but again, ymmv.

Post if you wish, or don't, as you will. I saw nothing in Heroes' post that said you were being kicked out. Personally? I'm just really looking forward to having the story go forth, and creating our little tale here with some of the very best writers (and people :) ) I know. And that's really the whole point of this, from beginning to end - the fun in the process!

I agree with everything you've said here aside from the bolded portion. My choice of the word infuriated is probably misused, and I can see how it might be an issue.

The issue I take with the bolded portion is that my apologies were meant to be heartfelt. While you are correct that they imply that I perceive Hero's response to be made through misunderstanding, they are by no means suggesting that I find him to be dumb. Nor do I believe my statements to be above his understanding. Really, I believe that this entire issue has been born from misunderstanding.

I'm sure you understand, Igraine, that I have a deep respect for this story and the collaborative spirit of this RP because we've worked together on a post. I only hope my enthusiasm shined through there.

I really don't want this little problem to cause any disturbance in the OOC. PM me if you need to.

At the risk of looking like a desperate fool, sorry again.

Well, today has been a crapshoot day. Turns out that I don't get to make a post at midday, like I'd intended...

I've sent Heroes a PM. if that is responded to when I wake up, I'll have the post up pretty quickly after I wake up. Sorry for the delay on the post: IRL always gets in the way of my mediocre writing time.

All that happened in the OOC aside, I want to thank you for posting New Yorker. You are most certainly welcome to stay, and I hope to have the opportunity to finish this RP with you and Gabe along for the whole ride.

You never looked like a desperate fool Serge, no worries ever there. I'm just glad you found your voice, and were able to find Gabe, and write such a lovely post yesterday :)

Oh, and speaking of lovely posts? XD VERY nice, Heroes! This morning I'm going to be going to a [pre-scheduled] day of movies and lunch with my friends from school, but I'm very much looking forward to writing when I get home this afternoon! *happy ridiculous bounce*

So did JayJay actually do something for Hoyle or not? You post wasn't clear.

Also Sir, am I right in gathering from your post that with Bain and co just ahead, too far to overhear but in sight, that the second group just witnessed the death of Hoyle's sister?

Jay-Jay ended up standing at the back, next to Semyon and Gabe: looking sorta threatening while Atticus does the heavy lifting.

Edit: I changed the last 2 paragraphs of my post. It seemed a little rushed on the reread, so I made it a less rushed.
