It's not like they're wearing matching uniforms/armor. -> Brovo's word, the only matching things they have are the standard issues weapons and dog tags, Matthew doesn't differentiate the former much, so it's only the dog tags he would notice.
It's not like the aforementioned armor matches the armor he is wearing. -> Same as above. Not to mention some of them probably wear their armors under their clothes.
It's not like he would have been updated of his team's approximate location before being dropped. -> "I just heard they're somewhere in an apartment."
