Magical Girl Uber Sparkling Fantasia: Omega

Who am I? Well, philosophical implications aside, you're a young magical girl that has somehow found her way to the city of Hinamizawa. While it used to be a simple town, it's grown extremely famous and prosperous in recent years due to the opening of the world-renowned boarding school, known simply as "Hinamizawa Academy." This school is seriously famous, and girls from all over the world come here to be taught in one of best boy-free environments on the planet.

Little does the public know, this school is in fact a front for a Magical Girl Recruitment program put into place by a certain small, furry animal. Perhaps you've found yourself sent to this academy, without really knowing why. More likely, you're a denizen of Hinamizawa. Regardless, you're almost certainly part of a small group of girls who've come into direct contact with the Overseer, and been granted magical powers. There aren't many of you, but you've all been offered a place at Hinamizawa Academy's dorms, where you can live together without having to worry about endangering your family.

What is Magic? Magic is a mysterious force of unknown origins, granted to young girls by the Overseer for the sake of fighting evil. While its origin in unknown, once possessed, Magic comes from the soul, manifesting in a wide variety of forms depending on the user. Souls are separated into various colours, which influence what kind of magic somebody might grow to possess. How soul colours and personality affect magic is unpredictable, as are the effects of Magic in general. One common rule is that Magic will always be compatible with the user, whether they realize it or not.

Magical power is theoretically unlimited, but humans are not innately magical creatures, and as such they have a very limited output. The limits of a Magical Girl's magical power grows over time, as they become more experienced and as their soul becomes more accustomed to magic.

Emotions have a very significant effect on magic, strengthening it with positive emotions and affecting it chaotically with negative ones.

What is a soul? Much like magic, souls are things with little known information. Every human has one, and for magical girls magic originates from the soul. There are around nine possible colours a soul can be. These colours give somewhat of a definition to a magical girls magic and ensures no two magical girls are the same. Among souls there are certain colours less common than the rest, and these are called the Noble Colours.

Just so everybody knows, I'll be making the sole veteran Magical Girl in the "party". Everybody else should be relatively new or complete newbies.

.:. Brunette | 5'5" | 107lbs | Green Eyes .:.

Name: Himanomi, Yuki
Age: 14
Personality:
Yuki is rather somber and melancholy. She doesn't offer much emotions through a day to day basis. When she does perk up, emotionally speaking, she is rather sweet and doesn't let much of anything bother her. It takes quite a lot for Yuki to become upset, though it often revolves around someone she cares about getting hurt. She can usually be found sitting around sketching in her note pad or laying in the courtyard watching the clouds pass by.

Hopes and Dreams~:
She wants to some day grow out of her parents shadow and move past the emotional withdrawals she was left with.

Equipment:
-Note pad.
-Assorted colored pencils.
-Violin.
-Prescription reading glasses.

History:
Yuki was an only children under a domineering father and emotionally stinted mother; though that was mostly due to wine. She grew up in an extremely wealthy family and the only emotional connection she had ever made was with their elderly butler. A kind man she knew until he passed when she was twelve. She cried at his funeral but she was scolding by her father, told to keep her emotions in check. He didn't want their family appearing weak. Throughout her entire raising she had been told to force down feelings and put on a strong front. Not to let anyone in. Because if they saw your weakness they would take you down. Or so it was the philosophy of a business man in a cut throat field.

She was always sent to the best school in the country. So it was only common place that her parents would find a way to get Yuki enrolled in Hinamizawa Academy.

Soul Colour: Yellow.
Nickname: N/A
Magic:
Scripting - Summoning scrolls she drags the scroll across the air leaving a trail of strange runic symbols. Depending on the symbols they can have a variety of effects. From creating a defensive field in front of her, shooting out blasts of energy, burst of blinding light, etc. Creating the Runes and activating them does take a few moments and she is vulnerable during that time.

-Red Head-5'3"-105 lbs-Red Eyes

Name: Kyoto, Akane
Age: 14
Personality:
Akane would like to refer to herself as someone who's just there to be there. She tries to vision herself as just an ordinary girl and thinks she's no different than any other Magical Girl. This behavior is not to be mistaken for humbleness. Akane is actually quite fearful of not only her magical powers and it's destructive capabilities, but also of forming close relationships with other people. This irrational fear is due to a certain childhood event in Akane's life and the sheer ferocity of her prowess as a Magical Girl. Despite this, the doubt is not so great as to hinder Akane from at least trying to make friends and putting on a smile. However, she still finds it very difficult to get close to other people.

Hopes and Dreams:
Akane hopes to one day overcome her social boundary with other people as well as completely erase the memories and feelings of that childhood event.

Equipment:
-Yellow bow.
-A standard cellphone.
-A collection of Haganai DVDs. She claims it's to help her make friends.
-Matches.

History:
Akane can neither forget nor forgive her childhood, the whole reason why she became a Magical Girl in the first place. At the age of ten, Akane and a girl named Shizune Kagame were the best of friends, inseperable really. However, like all friendships, the two girl's bond was tested time and time again. One such time proved to be the last.

The two girls both had their eyes set on a gorgeous yellow bow, each believing that they should have it over the other. Argueing became shouting and fighting, leading to a falling out between the two. Through unfortunate circumstances, Akane ended up obtaining the bow, only for it to be stolen by Kagame instead. Jealous and fueled by rage, Kagame went to the bow shop late at night to properly dispose of the thing by burning it at the place where it all began with a match she had stolen prior. Tracking her down, Akane and Kagame once more debated on the fate of the bow.

Through the struggle, the fire began earlier than expected, setting the shop ablaze. Events involving a certain granter of magical powers occurred which led to Kagame perishing in the inferno and Akane barely escaping with her life. Once the authorities arrived and removed Kagame's charred body, all they could find was the yellow bow, still in decent condition.

Racked with guilt and sorrow, Akane began drifting away from the other children, blaming herself for Kagame's fiery demise. Concerned about her growing isolation, it was decided by Kagame's parents as well her own to send Akane to Hinamizawa Academy in order to recuperate against any long lasting effects or traumas.

To this day, Akane refuses to even touch the tattered yellow bow; it serves as the only remaining reminder of a tragic gateway to reality and brings back too much pain.

Soul Colour: Orange
Nickname: Bāningumeiden- The Burning Maiden
Magic: Kurimuzonfangu-Crimson Fangs

Akane's primary weapon is a Japanese Chokuto, or a Japanese straight sword with the length of a katana. In a cruel twist of irony, the Overseer granted Akane magic that is destructive enough to either light a flaming beacon for all or burn a hole right through her soul. Acting as a close ranged fighter, Akane can weild, manipulate, and manifest incredible crimson flames that can reach up to scorching temperatures. Akane is free to utilize this power in a wide variety of ways, including coating her blade in flame, hurling projectiles of fire, and even causing the equivalent of a firestorm.

However, Akane is often fearful of her powers, afraid of harming her comrades because of its violent nature and losing control. Thus, Akane will often never use her full magical potential in a battle. As it also drains her energy significantly so, she will resort to smaller based fire attacks and mainly using her sword instead.

Name: Ariane Beaumont Antoine Beaumont Adeline Charlebois
Age: 14
Appearance:

Personality: On a regular basis, Adeline is a cheerful girl who will do her best to ease nerves, break tension and generally be relaxed and playful, never letting anything bother her. She comes across as a bit childish due to her tendency to do whatever she feels like on the spur of the moment. Despite her childish nature, though, Adeline does have a bit of an obsession with organization, having sorted everything one of her possessions alphabetically and always keeping her room neat. She also displays a surprising wealth of knowledge on English poets, although if asked about it she will violently deny any interest and retreat to a volume of manga.

Hopes and Dreams~: To be able to carve an identity of her own that will fit both what others desire to craft her into and what she naturally desires to be.
Equipment: A family album, a volume of manga, pen and paper, cheese snacks, a collection of works by William Yeates.
History: The girl who energetically introduced herself as Adeline Charlebois was born as Ariane Beaumont, a wealthy French Family. From a young age, the family debated on what sort of upbringing they would force upon her before finally settling on a decision: The Beaumont's heir must be a male. It was tradition; it was always that way. They weren't going to let a little thing like genetics stop them.

At the age of three, when she was just beginning to speak, it was decided: "Ariane" would cease to exist. In a single day, the young confused child suddenly found her parents dressing her with pants and shirts instead of her favourite dresses. This was the moment "Antoine" was born.

The family treated "Antoine" as if she was a boy ever since, and Ariane herself naturally grew into "Antoine," getting all of the upbringings a boy would have. However, deep inside of her Adeline had always felt there was some sort of confusion and was unsure what to make of the entire situation. It was finally at the age of 10, when puberty was about to begin, that "Antoine" had finally been told that he was genetically female, but the family still expected him to act, dress and, for all intents and purposes, be male. "Antoine" didn't really mind, for it demanded no change. However, one last wrench was going to be thrown into Adeline's childhood.

When "Antoine" finally started noticing boys, her family had another large discussion on what to do next - they could not risk Antoine being seen as homosexual as it would threaten the chances for a heir and bring unwanted attention to the family. As a result, it would be decided that Antoine would be sent to an all girl's school in Japan known as "Hinamizawa Academy". Of course, Antoine would have to "disguise" "himself" as a girl to attend, and this was when the gentle, caring nature of Ariane was finally allowed to co-exist with Antoine's need to please his parents. This co-existence, mixed with the freedom of it being the first time Ariane and Antoine were allowed to live without the constant overbearing pressure of their parents, gave rise to the most "genuine" personality that now bears the name the Beaumont family gave to "Antoine" to use as a "disguise" - Adeline Charlebois.

Soul Colour: white
Magical Girl Appearance:
Nickname: N/A
Magic: Nombreux Visages de Moi - The Many Faces of Me: Adeline's main magic comes in the ability to manifest her three different personalities into bodies of their own - as such, Adeline is able to create two copies of her, one which will have the personality of Antoine and one which will have the personality of Ariane - The "Antoine" copy will act masculine and address herself as "ore", while the "Ariane" copy will act ladylike and address herself as "watashi". Each of these bodies have all the natural abilities of the original. Should she need or want to, Adeline is able to re-merge with one or both of the copies in order to boost her own strength, allowing for a maximum of three times the physical abilities and raw magic power of any other magical girl without power boosting abilities of their own.

Each of the three wields different weapons: Adeline wields a musket which fires magical rounds, Antoine wields a sword and Ariane wields a bow which fires magical arrows.

Any more information on colors and what they entail or is it a surprise?

I will have a character up eventually, so as not to step on any toes, I'm making a machine/sound-based girl, probably going for soul colour: violet.

B~B~Sen~Pai, I feel neglected for not being told about this~

Now I'm feeling all of these negative emotions.

You know what that means, doooon't yoooouuu?

It's time for madness once again~
Name: Touko Kisaragi

Age: 13

Appearance:

Personality: Labels placed upon things, declared as absolute truths, can only be met with the realization of their ultimate incorrectness. The first such label is "insanity." Abnormal mentality which causes a deviation from norms regarded as societally proper or humanistically "base," though this is an oversimplification. In other words, much of that which is Other and yet Same is deemed as "insane."

Trite.

For there exists the voice in the back of the head. The voice is constant. The voice is your own voice that speaks in reference to yourself. Those who are deaf do not hear words, even within their mind, but the voice exists all the same.

"Gah, I'm hungry, I should go make some food."

"Let's see, what do I need to do today?"

"Alright, just one more math problem."

"I could veer onto the sidewalk and kill that man right now, if I wanted to."

This voice is a constant aspect of the human condition. This voice is nothing to fear, because it is simply a means of the mind's self-reflection. That reflection allows man to consider, to deliberate, to reason. It is a perfectly beneficial faculty.

Nonetheless, it is said that talking to oneself is the first sign of madness, and answering oneself is the second. This is utterly nonsensical, one speaks to and answers oneself near-constantly, whether one recognizes it or not.

That raises a question, though. Insanity functions in regards to the "mind," the mind exists through the conduit of this voice. What then is the relationship between the voice and the nature of insanity?

Insanity is not hearing the voice. Insanity is not even listening to the voice when it tempts you towards the blackness.

Insanity is when you tear the skin off the voice and plaster it over yourself. When you cease to contemplate finitude and look to a futile apotheosis that makes itself symmetrical above the flesh of Man.

Insanity is when you make the voice silent, and act in its absence.

The playwright of the inner monologue has been silenced and his inkwell knocked over, so that the black may stain the pages before it in an utterly monstrous way. Do not try to mop up the ink, for the pages have already absorbed it. Do not try to stem the flow, for then it will sink into your body as well.

Why has the question this is meant to answer been avoided for so long? What sort of person is Touko Kisaragi? How does she think, act, and feel?

This is her mind.

This is her life.

There is no "personality," because the voice has been killed. There is merely the shell of a girl whose actions cannot even be called "actions," as they lack purpose. Emotion as a force of the soul exists, but it lacks a guiding force. A nuclear missile that still carries its payload, but is launched in a random direction. She is the girl who acts as any other, until she abruptly decides not to.

The girl who will greet you with the tip of a proverbial hat and a warm smile.

The girl who will idly laugh with friends, joking about trivial and meaningless topics.

The girl whose eyes will light up in joy upon receiving a new present.

The girl who will freeze up in shock, on the verge of tears when seeing a friend or family member injured.

The girl who will twist the knife in further, never dropping her grin.

Why would she not, after all?

It's not like there is a voice to stop her.

Hopes and Dreams: "Make this reality stop."

Equipment:
-A red pen containing a blue ink cartridge.
-A sketch of a fake animal, namely a serpentine body with the wings and head of a toucan.
-"The Guide to Being Kawaii", a reference book initially published online by username MercuryMaid371.

History: Born like any other human. Breathed like any other human. Walked like any other human. The child of a wealthy man and a beautiful woman, born to a privileged life. The typical wants of a child her age were satisfied. Material goods, companionship, familial love. All so very simple. All so very idyllic.

It is not that the true self was repressed, rather that it simply hadn't bothered to show its other portions. In that sense, Touko was a typical young girl.

An upbringing that barely requires noting. There was no traumatic incident that killed the mind's empathy, nor a strange accident, nor even a playground bully. There was merely that, a "normal" life, a "normal" childhood.

Sent off to a school to provide better academic opportunities. That is all.

Does anything else truly need to be said?

Soul Colour: Black.

Magical Girl Appearance:

Nickname: N/A

Magic: The magic of "stillness," "stagnation," or simply "not changing." Her magic takes the form of a pale black glow which is "cast" onto things, inundating them with her magical energy and filling their being with this principle. Currently, anything affected by her magic is simply slowed down in its processes/motions, for instance slowing a projectile's motion through the air, or slowing the air's movement out of the way of the projectile. This is the reflection of the desire to halt the world, the ability to make things stop. Her magic is not yet capable of reaching full "stillness" though, so slowing down is all she can do. Further, both nonphysical and living things are out of her reach at the moment, as her magic cannot yet comprehend such faculties, so she is limited to nonliving physical constructs.

Name: Tachibana, Suika
Age: 15
Personality: She's the older sister with the heart of gold, a girl with a powerful protective and caring instinct, especially for her juniors. She is seldom selfish, due to some deeply rooted belief that she committed some dire sin, and that she must make up for it by giving herself to the cause of good. She finds it difficult to hate or become angry, instead keeping a virtually unbreakable smile that gives others a glimpse into the depths of her determination. She refuses to lose, and her ability to keep hope even in the darkest of moments is what allows her to pull forth unimaginable miracles.

Truly, even among the sparkling forces of justice, she shines the brightest of all. She understands that she is weak, and her greatest fear is that one day she will have to face an enemy that she cannot defeat on her own...

Hopes and Dreams~: Suika hopes to retire from the magical girl life in the near future, perhaps to settle down in Hinamizawa Academy, so that she can continue to protect and train future generations of magical girls. Her dream is to sew a golden utopia for all magical girls, one untarnished by the darkness of despair.
Equipment:
-Photo album?
-Charm of some sort, containing fond memories
-Wallet, containing a collection of mundane currency and a few photos. Strangely, contains no I.D.

History: Suika is old for a magical girl, but her contract was not one she had a choice to make. Some terrible event happened in her past, one that sprung her to bring up her needle against evil for the first time. The Overseer was disappointed, if they had met her only a few years younger, she could have become the most powerful magical girl of the century. As is, she is still a brilliantly talented magical girl, albeit one without much in the way of destiny. Still, she's fought longer than anybody can imagine, and with each passing battle she shines even brighter...

Soul Colour: Gold
Magical Girl Appearance: When Suika transforms, whatever clothes she was wearing prior is replaced by a suitable dress or uniform composed entirely of golden thread. Unlike many magical girls, her uniform is rarely in the same form each time she transforms, perhaps because of her connection to sewing?

Magic: Suika's magic is...abnormal, much like her soul colour. While ordinary Magical Girls possess colours like that of the rainbow, her soul shines with an unwavering gold brilliance that outshines all else. How can one girl create such a radiant light? Still, her magical power is deceptively low, as a result of her being years past the ideal age for a magical girl.

The manifestation of her magic is a golden needle called Victory, sewing golden thread made from the essence of her very soul. The needle's size changes in her hands, but it always feels perfectly balanced in her hand, only moving as willed and without a fraction of inaccuracy. The thread also moves in accordance to her will, allowing her to restrain others or even create platforms in mid air as necessary.
