Shayre woke up from someone shaking him by his shoulders. Or rather, he woke up from the pain the movement caused him. He whispered something under his breath as he looked up to the person kneeling next to him. It was a girl, with long blonde hair. She looked awfully concerned.
Looking up at her face, and after that, around him, a million questions came to mind. After struggling with his dried up tongue he managed to ask one of them that seemed particularly important right now.
"Who are you?"
He tried to get up, feeling a stinging pain in his head as he moved. Perhaps that was the reason why the girl seemed so worried.
"Am I hurt?"
No wait, that was a weird question. He was hurt, he could feel that. He should probably have asked if it looked serious. It felt like he had some kind of wound on his head, and judging on the pounding element of the pain it wasn't a scrape.
Frowning while looking around, he decided that there was one more question that should be asked.
"And while we're at it... Where am I?"

Mei opened her eyes, looking around first, then slowly let go of him. "Thanks a lot." she smiled, "I'm almost certain I would've broken a leg trying to get down if you weren't here - wherever here actually is." She shrugged.

"Who are you?"
"Oh, I'm Akuma." Akuma said, relieved that the boy woke up. It was good to see someone else out here instead of her. "If you're wondering, I as well don't know where we are. Honestly I just woke up a few minutes ago." She sat back, looking at his wound on his head. Her eyes widen at the sight of blood."Oh no!"She cried out, slapping both her hands on her cheeks and panicking. What do I do!? He's hurt! Uuuuhhh, Is there something here to help him!?
Akuma crawled over to him. She gently touched his head, trying not to hurt him. As doing so, she gingerly placed his head on her laps. "I don't know If this will work.."

Jane was not sure how long she had been running. Time seemed to have evaporated during her sprint. Finally, she paused, and let large, exasperated breaths fall out of her mouth. Her cheeks ere flushed from running, and there was dirt smeared on her face--from when the giant bear had attacked her.

She felt like falling over, but was not sure if she would be able to get up if another creature came to attack her. She turned around, finally. The coast is clear. She smiled to herself--only momentarily--her smile, interrupted by a tiny female voice. "I don't know if this will work."--Jane could not quite make out what the voice had said. It did not sound harmful, but after the attack, she was not willing to find out.

Jane tried to catch her breath. She had just sprinted three straight miles, and--her leg. Her leg. It looked blackened with blood. How much blood had she lost? There was dirt smeared over her scratch, as well. Sharp pins and needles started to pierce her leg. She grabbed at her leg, wanting the pain to stop, but fell in the process. Her hands touching her leg caused a sharp nerve wracking damage to her balance.

She screamed out in pain. This is really painful, she thought to herself. She let out small, tearless cries, breathing quick, deep breaths. She was so tired, and her leg...

Shayre held his head still, not moving as he tried to asses the situation.
For some reason he didn't quite understand, the girl had made him rest his head on her lap, murmering something about it helping. How this was supposed to help him, he didn't know. Perhaps it was to stabilize his head? Part of him wanted to make a joke about his current position, but he realized that he didn't know the girl that well, and he was afraid an offcolored joke wouldn't fall well with her.
Looking around him, he started feeling slightly uncomfortable. Something about the leaves, the sun, the sounds around him... It made him feel uneasy, and a part of him knew they shouldn't be there. Slowly he forced himself to sit up, keeping his head as still as possible.
"We should get out of here... It's dangerous."
He frowned, trying to think of a reason to give her beyond 'I get the creeps from ths place'. It was then that a bush with darkgreen leaves caught his attention. For some reason its veins gave off a tiny amount of light, not enough to iluminate things around it, but contrasting heavily with the otherwise dark leaves. The light wasn't what caught his attention however. There it was again, a light rustle in the leaves, like someone or something shifting its weight behind it. Shayre slowly raised his hands, not wanting to alert whatever was behind the bush, but getting ready to defend himself and the strange girl.
Who was he kidding. If there was a dangerous animal behind there, there was not much he could do with his pounding head and empty hands.
He gestured for the girl to get behind him. Then, with a soft voice that he made sure didn't sound threatening nor scared he started talking, hoping against all odds that it was simply another mysterious person.
"Hey there... I know you are behind these bushes."
He took one step forwards, at the same time getting closer to whatever it was and getting between it and the still nameless girl.
"We won't harm you... Unless you are some murderous animal out to kill us."
He nervously licked his lips, uncertain what to do next. He was about to tell the blonde girl to get away when he heard the scream of a person in pain.
He cursed his luck. Was it a person getting attacked? Leaning on trees and bushes he made his way towards the source.

Hearing a voice, Jane coward. The last time she thought she had heard a voice it turned into a terrible and monstrous bear. She could feel her hands shaking, wanting to grab hold of her throbbing leg--but scared to make pain worse. She continued breathing heavily. She could not control her breath in-take, she was tired and every breath she took felt like a hollow burst of air that did nothing for her reddened, exhausted face.

"We won't harm you... unless you are some murderous animal out to kill us."

Jane felt small tears come from her eyes, alas. It was a person. This was no animal. "I'm hurt," she said, in a trembling voice. She tried to sound strong. She took several steps in the direction of the voice, her knee bent, unable to contain the weight of her walking any further. Her muscles were tired, and she wanted to sit down but was afraid she would never get up, again.

The voice may also be a trick. Maybe she was hallucinating--not from drugs, but from a runner's high. Maybe there was no one there, "Is someone there?" She asked, as if the voice may have disappeared in those few seconds she had contemplated the pain in her leg and muscles.

Shayre let go of his held in breath, his pounding heart slowly calming down. That didn't sound like a murderous animal, and apparently she wasn't being attacked by something either. He stepped closer slowly, half because he didn't want to scare the girl, half because he wasn't able to go any quicker without falling over.
"That makes two of us..."
He tried to laugh at her in a reassuring tone, but had to stop quickly when his head started pounding again. He made a small involuntary wincing noise as he grabbed his head. Still, it felt like his pain overall was lessening a bit, only coming back in sudden surges when he did something wrong. The blood running down his head seemed to have stopped as well, drying up against his skin like brownish paint.
As he turned around the bush he saw her. Her brown hair full of pieces of wood and leaves, tears in her eyes. She looked terrible, with blood running from a gash in her leg.
"Dammit..."
He quickened his pace and almost ran the last meters towards her. Once at her side he stood still for a split second. She looked so terrified and small, as if she'd start crying any time. He carefully extended his hands, hoping he wouldn't scare her. What was he thinking, she wasn't some hurt wild animal. He took her arm to support her, to help her make her way back to the other girl.
"Don't worry, everything is going to be alright! We're going to find a place to stay for the night and-"
He was hardly aware of what he was saying, just knew he had to keep talking. He told himself it was to reassure the girl, but the truth was that it probably calmed him down more than it did her.

Jane quivered in Shayre's arms. For several seconds, she imagined her father hugging her, not that he was much of a touchy-feely man, but this scenario, it was still hard for Jane to comprehend what was happening, every several moments that passed, she would think that maybe she had been shot in the leg as opposed to attacked by a wild animal.

She looked up at Shayre, feeling the secure warmth of his chest and arms enveloping her frail body.

"We're going to find a place to stay for the night and--" Jane coward her face away from him as he said this. Who was he? Why was he looking for a place for them to stay for the night? Did he want to sleep with her? He looked so young compared to her. Jane considered herself someone who was aging well for her age. She had been mistaken for a high schooler on several different occasions, but she could tell by some of his still baby-features that he was too young for her, to be holding and embracing her so well.

Her mind suddenly jolted to the part where she had been trapped in this place (a hallucination of her mind, she was still thinking) for three whole days. She immediately buried her head in his chest. The warmth of another person to secure her. She was not even sure the last time she was held by someone like this. Her Church friends still thought of the opposite gender as having cooties...

Tears began to flow from her eyes, dampening her face, leaving streaks through the mud smeared on her face. The pain in her leg started bothering her once more, as her mind drifted back into the current moment, "I don't want to die here," Jane choked back sobs, letting the realization that she may have somehow trapped herself in his realm. It was all her fault. Why did she have to trip on acid that night. . why not mushrooms or marijuana or. . why not just be drug free? You're such an idiot, Jane, she thought to herself. This was a normal thought pattern for her. She knew she was not the brightest bulb or the smartest cookie. Sometimes she thought of herself as the village idiot.

"Please, make it stop," her cry increased, her hands came to her face, gripping at her skin and burying herself into the man's torso, uncaring if he was only tricking her momentarily before trying to harm or kill her.

"No... no like this Seth."

Surge came forward towards Seth and then put his hand out, then turning on his heel he brought his leg up and demonstrated a kick, slowly extending his leg at the knee he let his lower calve flick, there was a small whoosh of air before he brought his leg back down and then placing his foot back on the sandy shore. Surge silently crossed his arms and then watched both Seth and his brother Adam preform the kick like he had before. Surge did not smile but he found himself rather happy at that certain moment, truthfully there was nothing else like doing a little training on the beach. The ocean was crisp and the sand was just the right temperature today, and Adam and Seth were even smiling more now, it took forever but they finally opened up to Surge. When he had found them, they were very disoriented and above all else very scared, it was to be expected really, it wasn't everyday that you just suddenly woke up in a strange forest surrounded by dangerous plants and animals. An these two boys from what they told Surge lived a rather normal life, school, homework, video games, the kind of life Surge could only wonder at in the end.

Surge didn't really know why but he really seemed to make a connection with these two, it was not everyday that Surge made friends or even talked to people all that much. Perhaps it was because they would have died two days in at best, or maybe he was just sick of being alone in this hell hole he woke up in, whatever the case Surge had became like and older brother to these two, and Surge felt like they were the younger brothers he never had. It had been a rough couple weeks for them, but it was nice to see them just enjoying themselves even if it probably would not last long.

"Good guys, very good, little more practice and I just might say you have gained some skill."

"We could take you right now Surge, come on were quick learners and there is two of us I bet we could do it bro what about it?"

Adam the younger one of the two looked between Seth and Surge, he was definitively contemplating if that were be such a good idea. The difference between the two was that Adam thought before doing things, and Seth tended to go head first in. However it did surprise Surge when Adam nodding his head and then eyed Surge, Seth smiled an evil smile and then eyed Surge as well, they both started to move on him. Surge did not smile but inside he was smiling to himself.

"Do you really think it wise to take me on, there is two of you but I have more skill then you two combined."

Surge tried to deter them but it was obvious they had no intention of listening, Surge just smirked as he reached up and took his sunglasses off his nose and tossed them aside into the sand and took a fighting position. The two brothers quickly pointed in different directions and then they split up each taking a side, they were going to come in each direction it seemed. Surge did not move but kept his eye's on both of them, waiting silently for the move he knew was coming. It took what seemed like awhile but both boys charged at Surge at the same time, just like Surge thought, waiting for the opportune moment, Surge merely stepped backwards right when the boys got near, like two cars hitting each other the two collided head to head and crumbled to the sand.

"You idiot why didn't you stop!"

"I couldn't there was no time!"

"I am gonna beat you!"

"Try it!"

The two brother charged each other and crashed into each other and fell on the sand rolling around grabbing each other by the shirts. They didn't know it but Surge was smiling as he picked up his sunglasses and put them back on his face. Today truly was a very rare day, but Surge wasn't complaining they all needed a nice day like this that was for sure.

Shayre looked at the girl with a perplexed and slightly worried look on his face as she consecutively rested against his chest, panicked and calmed down, all in hardly over a minute's worth of time.
Maybe she has a fever, he thought, as he studied her face that was still red and warm from running. It would explain her behavior, maybe.
He was about to raise his hand to feel her forehead when she suddenly started crying. A rush of panic went through his body at the sight of tears, as crying girls were not his forte. A bit awkwardly he patted her back, feeling her body shake as she cried out "I don't want to die here.". He sushed soft nonsense at her, trying to think of something to say.

"Whatever did that is gone... It won't hurt you anymore, I promise. And if it comes back I'll protect you."

Protect her?
A voice inside his head smirked at him. Look at you acting all heroic. If whatever did that to her leg comes here, the only thing you can do in your condition is distract it while it eats you first... The truth was, if he had been alone, he would probably have curled up beneath the tree and stayed there. Ugh his head... It probably was a good thing that someone showed up who seemed to need his help, as having to take care of someone seemed to give him strength.
He tried to ignore the thoughts that kept popping up in his head, now was hardly the opportune the time to do a psychological analysis off himself. He returned his attention back to the young woman, who buried herself against his shoulder, only crying louder now. "Please, make it stop!" Her voice was pitiable and small, reminding him somewhat of the cries of a wet kitten. Great, there I go again, stay on topic, will you? He wanted to yell at his brain, that seemed to do everything in his power to think of anything but the situation right now.

"Hush, don't worry. We'll go somewhere safe for now okay? Then I'll take a look at that leg of yours, and my head, and whatever wounds everyone might have besides these... And then everything is going to be alright"

Shayre smiled reassuringly, although the girl probably wasn't looking at his face. He looked up, searching the blonde girl, hoping she could either console or help support the crying girl. They really did need to get out of here. Had none of them been wounded he would have decided to keep walking until they found civilization, but one look at the brown haired girl told him that this wasn't really an option right now.

Priorities, get your priorities straight. What do we need first? Food wasn't important. Safety was, but honestly he had no idea which direction safety would be. A place to wash their wounds, drink... He wasn't sure about the blonde one, but the raspy breath of the crying girl made him think she was at least as thirsty as he was. Downhill, they needed to go lower, where water would be. They couldn't walk far in their condition, but a little bit had to be enough. There had to be water around somewhere, the plants were too green and lush to be far from water. He looked downhill, and after checking the sun deduced that it was somewhat northwest.

"Are you able to walk?"

The question felt stupid as he asked it, as far as he could see, the girl could hardly stand, let alone walk. Her leg looked even worse when he looked at it again. Dark blood came from a nasty gash at the back of her leg, there was no doubt that it had been some kind of animal. He was amazed that the young girl had managed to get away from a creature so big. Looking at her muddied face more closely however, he realized she wasn't really the young girl he had held her for. At least she was older than the other girl, who seemed to be around 15 or 16. Perhaps she was 18, or even 19? Still, it remained an impressive feat.

Surge sat silently at the edge of the beach watching the waves go back and forth across the ocean, even now he couldn't help but wonder where this place was exactly. Why the hell had they been taken here, hell how the heck did they get taken here? This question often plagued his mind, maybe they had been drugged and then taken here for some kind of government test, that seemed highly logical, a government test site and they were living subjects. Even if that was the case who would take children who are completely innocent, it was sick and disgusting, this island was far too dangerous for kids and anyone who would put them there must know this. Then again that could be the point all along, Surge was no stranger to cruelty from adults, in fact most of his life to this point had been like that, so he didn't believe for a second that it wasn't possible that whoever put them here just did it because they could. Looking up Seth and Adam finally tired themselves out and were laying on the sand and relaxing, Surge smiled again to himself as he turned his attention back to the see, he really did wonder if there was a way off this island, perhaps he had been here way to long as it was, he could maybe try to construct a raft or some kind of small boat and try to sail away from this place.

It was wishful thinking to be sure but in the end the sea would drown them if they couldn't find land in time, and he would not so blatantly put Adam and Seth's life in that much danger. There would be a time for planning to be sure, but for now they would just have to stick this out until the opportunity came to pass. The sudden noise from the green forage is what instantly broke Surge from his thoughts, almost immediately he hit his feet and turned looking in every direction. Seth and Adam immediately jumped up in fright and made their way to Surge. Surge reached down his side and pulled out the home made bowie knife he had fashioned from animal bone and stone and kept his eye's opened, he knew that animal sound, it was the sound of a rather large timber style wolf. He had crossed them several times already in the last two years they were very violent and had a very bad temper, however they never came this close to the beach because of how open it was so this made Surge wonder why the hell it was here and also if it was alone. The worst thing about this predator was that it smelt fear, it was like a treat to the beast and it would go for the one who was scared most and looked the weakest, which meant that Surge had to keep the boys away from this thing.

No sooner had they heard the beast's howl a large creature stumbled onto the beach approx. 50 feet away or so from the three of them. At first it didn't seem to notice them but Surge saw it sniff the air and knew instantly that it knew they were there. That was why there was no reason to run, because they could track scent for miles, and he would rather face it in the open then in a place where it could surprise attack from.

"Stay behind me boys whatever you do, do not run, do not... it will go for the one who shows the most fear, and this thing can outrun me with no problem. We have to stick together or it will pick us off one by one."

Surge put the knife out in front of him, he knew it wasn't going to wait long, and like clock work he heard the howl one more time before it leap from its spot and started bounding towards them. Surge kept his guard up, but he couldn't help but notice that this particular Wolf was making bad speed, looking carefully he realized that it was wounded in several places like it had been in a death fight. It made sense now, it had probably been cast out from its pack, maybe it even came here to die, either way they were unlucky to run into it, even wounded they were dangerous if not more. They were scared and tense, Surge knew that very well from the way they would not even speak, hell he didn't blame them, but he couldn't put them in danger, he had to do something now he was the only one who could. He couldnt try to make it run after him, if he ran it would go straight for them. Which meant he would have to do this face to face or nothing, if it closed the distance both Adam and Seth might get hit if Surge dodged and they didn't. Their best chance was to make it to the tree line and climb a tree while Surge faced it head on, looking sideways quickly the tree line was close they could make it.

"Listen quickly boys when I charge forward I want you to dash for that tree line as fast as you can, find the highest tree and climb it no questions asked. Do it quickly before this thing has a chance to even go after you."

Without even waiting for an answer Surge charged the beast knife in hand, it was up to the boys to get to safety, he would face this wolf head to head, he had done it before and he would do it again now.

Letting out pathetic sounding breaths of exhaustion, Jane wanted so badly to just close her eyes and disappear into the darkness trying to envelope her mind. The young man's soothing voice was nice to hear. His composure was the opposite of the monstrous bear. She was still frightened by him, having just met him--knowing nothing about him, except that he was in fact real. Was this young man her Guardian Angel? Had she crossed some realm? Was this the afterlife? Did she over dose?

"Are you able to walk?"

"I--" she tried to stand up, pushing him lightly away from her as to show some sort of physical independence, "No--" she could walk, just not well. Her muddy brown hair swayed lightly back-and-forth as she shook her head softly, trying to express her No in a heavier fashion.

"I'm so sorry," she pleaded, as if some form of confession would bring her out of this scary nightmare.

As the girl confirmed what he had expected, that she wasn't able to walk right now, Shayre nodded without saying a word. His head was spinning as he went over the options, his reassuring smile still on his face as if there was no problem.

"Okay, in that case I'll... I guess I can try and eh, carry you?"

The idea sounded stupid even to him, he was barely able to keep himself from swaying, holding on to a sturdy branch as casually as he could. Trying to carry a girl, however small and thin, would likely end in them falling down before he could take the first step. Which was the best case scenario, that assumed he would be even able to lift her.

"Eh, I guess that would be hard to do... What if I support you and you only use your good leg?"

With a longing look he watched the direction he wanted to go. Was it just his imagination or did the plants that way really look greener? Either way, as far as he knew it was away from the direction the girl had came from, which meant it was likely to be safer there. Not that they'd get very far even if they did manage to get themselves going, but still something in him seemed to think they would be so much more safer if they'd just move away a little bit.

"No- Don't be sorry, it's not your fault! You're doing really great..."

"You're doing really great..." sounded like a heavenly gift. Jane wished she was doing great. She was probably better off than she thought or felt. Her leg would heal soon, would it not? No bone was punctured, were her muscles showing through? She dare not take a peak. Instead, Jane tried to regain some strength and slow her down her breathing, "I--I think I can lean on you," her voice whispered to Shayre. She gently let a smile crawl over her lips as her breathing became amiabler.

The wind had picked itself, combing through the three victims, as if urging them to move eastward. The trees leaned in this direction, swaying their branches as some cheering entourage, watching their every move.

Jane was not sure if this was all in her head. She could not think straight. The only distinctions she could make were her leg in extreme pain and the soothing sound of the voice holding her.

She felt like a small child, unable to concentrate or think or know what is going on, but all the while knowing that she must remain a live at all costs. "Do you know where we are?" her voice was a little louder that a whisper this time. Jane looked up at Shayre. He was starting to become some sort of knight protecting her from all the nonsensical scenery around them.

Shayre felt a spark of relief go through him when he saw her smile, and he smiled back, supporting her as they slowly made their way over the uneven terrain. He was desperate to show no weaknesses, both because he still afraid something would be watching them, trying to decide whether they were worth the risk of attacking, and, because he feared the girl would lose the trust she seemed to have in him now, if she found out how weak he really was at the moment.
Left right left, pointy rock, go left of it... right left right... How is she doing? His brain was slow and thinking hurt, but he could do this. He could walk, for now. And so could she it seemed. He realized that he still didn't know her name, or that of the other one while he was at it. Now was not really the time to ask it though. Just keep on walking... Right left...

"Do you know where we are?" Her voice broke through the mist that clouded his mind and the mantra in his head disappeared as he tried to think about the answer. To be honest, he had no clue. This world made no sense to him whatsoever, and he had no idea how he ever ended up here. But that would hardly be a satisfactory answer... He tried to remember things, anything, before waking up on the lap of the blonde girl. A cold feeling started spreading from his stomach, making its way over to his hands and feet, causing them to sweat slightly, before reaching his head...
He stumbled, panting heavily as he wanted to grasp his head, to try and squeeze his skull together, as if that would stop the pain. But he couldn't do that, first of all it wouldn't help, it might even be dangerous if his skull was fractured, but most importantly, it would alert the girls. He coughed instead, trying to flash an apologetic smile at the brown haired girl.

"I'm sorry, I stumbled over a rock... I should watch my feet, are you alright?"

He looked at the ground in front of them, as he got up and started walking again. The pain seemed to go away now he wasn't trying to think about his past. Enough so, to allow him to think about the question again.

"I don't know, it is some kind of forest far from civilization it seems... Perhaps we were in a plane crash or something like that... To be completely honest, I'm not really sure, I eh- I don't remember what happened, but that sometimes happens when you've been in shock, right?"
