Vathras is the lord of Rothus. He is age 31, average of height, but heavy in weight of muscle, with light skin, dark brown hair, and darker eyes. He is married to Lady Amalie Tallid [ age 32 ], the daughter of a small merchant family from the Ordained Kingdom. He has a son [ Oberon Tallid, age 14 ], and a daughter [ Claire Tallid, age 11 ].Vathras is a handsome man, noble and chivalrous as he is excellent in combat. Despite having a long list of ladies born to high wealth clamouring for his hand, he married out of love to Amalie, a beautiful, kind, and intelligent woman from a family of wine exporters. The situation with House Tallid is both cordial and tense. He was not yet your vassal, and you both had your whole levies raised to fight. Wishing to avoid conflict until an opportune time, the Tallids began a retreat to their castle, which they planned to hold while provoking an assault on the considerable walls.The jostling for a superior position between your two armies was interrupted by nothing less than a raiding party of what looked to be the Ordained. The army was heading straight for Rothus Castle, with numbers larger than both your armies combined. You both realized that your survival depended cooperation, and a ceasefire was declared, as you both rode out to meet the enemy.The enemy, however, was poorly organized, starving, and desperate, eventually breaking upon the combined might of your well-trained forces, though at heavy cost of lives. It was eventually learned that this was a mere force of deserters, retreating from a terrible battle after weeks of hard marching, intent on pillaging the first plot of land that came in sight. When the dust settled, the situation grew tense once again. Both sides were in close quarters, but badly bloodied. Moments passed, and many negotiations were made via two couriers marching across the field between the two armies. Men held their breath at each opening of the courier's mouth.A surprising deal came about: Lord Vathras Tallid, admitting that he and his force would likely perish if it met your force in open combat, was to bend his knee in vassalage. Though he had no daughter then that could be wedded or betrothed, he had a son, and thus Oberon was sent to your court as a willing hostage, only to return upon Lord Vathras' dying breath.Lord Vathras has since served your bidding for one dozen years. Each time you see the man, he appears calm at a glance, but looking into his eyes, you could notice the seething hatred he does well to hide.

Hugh Tueuroi is the lord of Hainaut and Nantes. He is age 65. He is tall of height and thin of weight, light of skin, gray of hair, and green of eye. He was married to Lady Aubry ap Gwent, a minor house from the Kingdom of Wealas, but died of natural causes three years ago. He is now married to Lady Cinthia Summer [ age 18 ], the eldest daughter of a vassal house to Lord Harvestar. He has five daughters [ Annabelle, age 48, Marrisa, age 45, Alise, age 41, Isabella, age 39, and Margarite, age 37 ], all of which he sired with his first wife, and one son [ Charles, age 2 ] born to his second.House Tueuroi was once one of the great houses of Lundland, owning the most fiefs of any one lord. Their house was close with House Tristch, and were intermarried between many of its members, to the point where a legitimate claim to rule could be put forward by a number of House Tueuroi's sons. Their haughty nature left them few friends, and a dozen enemies, but believed their friendship with House Tristch protected them from the schemes of the other Houses. As said, a number of sons in House Tueuroi could press a claim to the throne, and one did exactly that, by attempting to covertly assassinate the current King of Lundland, Overlord Henry IV. He succedded in the murder, but failed in keeping it covert. And in an instant, any goodwill their House had vanished. Though they were loyal to House Tristch in all its schemes, the house of the Overlord refused their most faithful servants from being torn apart by everyone they had slighted, like a poor boy tossed to a pack of dogs. Lord Hugh was a boy in such times, but now he is the only one to remember a day when his House was far more than two fiefs with no castles.Tried as he might, he could not sire a son with his first wife. He requested a divorce to the realm's archbishop, on grounds of consanguinity, but was rejected without hesitation. Being a lecherous man, he had no problem sleeping with numerous other women outside of wedlock. It is rumoured he has a hundred such bastard children, all of them daughters. The day his wife died was a day of some joy for him, for they hated each other with a passion far greater than any lover's could love each other. But the happiest day of his life was when his gorgeous young wife bore him a son.His daughters resent their father deeply, and feel great ire at losing any claim to inheritance they might have, now that they have a brother.
