Hmm, just noticed something. What happens to surplus crops? Do they add up? Expire? Expire after 1 year? etc?

They go into the stockpile of the fief's manor. I'd rather not deal with expiry dates, for now.

Putting in a place holder. Really busy at the moment, and I suffer from dyscalculia so this could take a while. It's all going way over my head.

If you have any questions, I'm here for you. I hardly expect everyone to understand this perfectly.

So, for the beginning of our RP. Can we assume that we collected all the taxes and crops from our fiefs? Cause we don't know what vassals will have what territory, so we don't know what our starting income is.

Oh yes, it's said in the rules that your total crops and income have already been collected, so no need to worry about that. On the subject of vassals, I will PM you their details, including what land they'll get. If you've already purchased the equipment for your troops, your vassals will get a portion of them.

I'd like to have handled vassals a little less messily, but work's a bitch. I'll be thinking of a clean way to integrate them if I've got time today.

EDIT: Working on player vassals as we speak. Getting very interesting results. . . the dice Gods have a wicked sense of humour.

I have some questions, if you don't mind:

For resources, what exactly are these resources, and why are they earning a fixed amount of money. Surely the value would fluctuate based on supply and demand?

Can we sell stockpiled food if we don't need it?

Also is there a way to increase town levels in-game, because the rules were vague on this.

Is maintenance on weapons paid each season?

Lastly, could you describe the fiefs a little more? I'm not exactly sure what a scrubland is.

Simple questions, my good man.

Resources is just a name. I wanted an option for fiefs that would give a straight, fixed income boost to the player. In-game, this could be represented by a mine or something. I feel its rather important that their income be fixed, but I may integrate resources into the Trade Actions as I work on them in the coming days.

You're welcome to make any sort of deals between players that you feel like. If I see something wrong, I'll tell you, but otherwise that's completely fine. If you're looking to sell to an NPC kingdom (the Overlord, the Baccan, the Ordained, etc.) or put the crops on a trade caravan, that's perfectly fine as well.

There is indeed a way to increase town wealth in-game, but ways to do that will be in the Actions section, which I'm working on. I was hoping players wouldn't sink too many points into making their Towns start out with high wealth, since it's not incredibly difficult to raise a town's wealth once the game has started.

Yes, maintenance and pay are paid each season. Maintenance is listed next to the weapon, armour, etc., but pay will always be 1 per soldier.

A scrubland is a dry, infertile land dominated by shrubs.

In reality, it is a type of land commonly found in the medditerranian, and shares features with a savvanah. For our purposes, it will be the type found in the highlands of Scotland: shrubs, thistles, rocks and hills for as far as the eye can see. It's difficult to grow crops in, and only hardy plants like potatoes will do.

Would the Total Fief Tax per Annum be how much the kingdom makes total or how much you collect from taxes?

The Kingdom total. Still fucking around with vassal rules. I'll likely allow substantial time for players to integrate them into their sheets/change things around after they know their vassals.

Heh, I've been in a few RPs where excel became my best friend. Or it would have, if I weren't too poor to afford Mic. Office.

I know its a death wish but I'm going to have the March of Mishfarden. xD

Edit: What kind of bonuses do Manor and Castle options give?

One bulli for every citizen right?

My sheet is almost done, I just realized I didn't assign twelve points. Gonna put them into upgrades for fiefs, recalculate some things, then I'm good to go.

You place yourself in (the Dice) God's hand. You are both brave and foolish.

Manor and Castle options provide a defence to the manor, which is effectively a fief's capitol. Even if you don't plan to rule there, it is to be the fief's crop stockpile, so it would be wise to place a good defence in important fiefs.

Yes, each citizen is taxed 1 bulli per annum. There will be other ways to earn income other than Taxes, Resources, and Infrastructure once I get the in-game Actions up.

@ VoiD: I didn't want to say anything, since your sheet still said WIP, but I noticed that as well. I just assumed you thought Family members and courtiers cost actual points instead of Family points.

I like your your Kingdom a great deal, by the way. Also, how do you get those apostrophes on letters? I'd like your vassals to have names in-line with your Kingdom's culture.

Thank you! I was going for a gaelic-inspired kingdom. You can get the accented letters through windows hotkeys such as alt+0232.
