Well we could do similar plot ideas from some known VR fiction. Going into AI NPC's to basic "fight through this forest, and pass through this dungeon." But those wont keep the story that interesting. I want something of a character to character based story. If you wish to start a quest that is not brought on by me then I wouldn't have a problem with it. I'd expect people to join into 'clans' or 'guilds' to work as a team to take on hard quests.
I am welcoming all and any suggestions, I rarely refuse anything that doesn't sound to OP or unbalancing (off topic issues) When I start the OOC I will have set a list of races/classes, including a map. Although if you choose you can have an original race/class as long as it's not to far-fetched (we're talking something ridiculous like a snake, or a whale.)
Since the main story will happen later (nobody jumps into a boss fight right off the bat in anything.) Everybody will start as a level 1. Basically the VR game will be brand new, nobody will have explored any of the land, and everybody will be placed in the small starting city of (whatever I get around to naming it, I am pretty certain I got a few choices)
I could leash this up and keep an eye on everything that happens, really micromanaging this into the ground, setting up score tables and so on. But I prefer to let the people use the honor system. You can't just run out of the city and kill Satan with a wooden sword and become level 9999. This is casual so I am not expecting a book on each post, But if you expect anybody to believe that you've earned what you say you have earned, you have to put it into your writing. There is no one liners, half a paragraph in a fight. And if two people decide to duel, they have to work it out on how they are going to do it, either through OOC or in private chat. Items found from monsters will match your level range, So no you can't kill a pheasant outside the city and get the buster sword.
Sorry I rambled a bit, I just had to put some of that out there, I'm willing to be as serious to this as those who are interested and try my hardest not to let you guys down.
