Joseph was walking briskly through the city before he came upon a staircase leading underground. Taking a glance at his watch, he began to head down. Taking a look at the schedules, he noted the convenience of the trains' timing in that there was one scheduled to go to just where he needed to go that was to arrive in twelve minutes. Paying for his ticket and heading into the heart of the station, Joseph stopped for a moment to purchase a magazine on some, "innovation on biology," as it was called. He chuckled.

"So far behind," he said to himself before stuffing the magazine into his pocket. He then headed through the maze of hallways before finally arriving at platform 19, which was supposed to bear the train that would take him to 69th street terminal. He sat leaned on one of the support pillars, sighed, and waited, occasionally checking his watch and adjusting his grip on his suitcase.

Patricia looked around at the other denizens of the cocktail party, sipping her piña colada. While she enjoyed her drink, she couldn't help but be bored with everyone just standing around, talking. She'd rather be out somewhere, climbing a mountain, biking down a hill, SOMETHING to get a little adrenaline pumping through her veins. She sighed. Well, at least it was a for a good cause, raising awareness so all these fat cats would donate to the charity hosting the party, Another Path. The charity provided education and support to orphans in the Philadelphia area, so that they wouldn't be pushed towards a life of crime and violence. But still, if it weren't for the alcohol, Patricia would be pulling her hair out because of a lack of anything better to do.

Looking across the room, however, she was met with the sight of a rugged, attractive looking man with a lovely jet black tuxedo and tie. Patricia downed the rest of her piña colada, got another cocktail, and walked over. Maybe this night wouldn't be so boring after all.

Jerry awoke with one of his headaches, a piercing pain that stabbed directly into his brain. It took all of his willpower to resist from crying out. With a whimper here and there, the headache went away. After it left, Jerry decided it was as good a time as any to get up. Lifting the lid of the dumpster he lived in, Jerry got out and went through his usual hygiene schedule. Walking into one of the dingier metros, Jerry washed his hair in the sink, brushed his teeth with some paper towels, and rinsed some of the caked on dirt off. Satisfied with what he could do, Jerry started to look for some breakfast.

Being that it was Tuesday, Jerry couldn't go to "Ralph's Sandwich Shak" so he decided to just dig into some garbage and hope for the best. After finding some food that had seen better days, Jerry didn't really know what to do. There wasn't any charity events to do, at least none that he could go to, and the soup kitchen wasn't taking volunteers at the moment. Thinking back on it, Jerry should have gone there for breakfast. Whatever, its in the past. With no better thing to do, Jerry headed off into the crummier parts of town. There had to be someone there he could help.

A warm ray of sunshine washed over the bustling city of Philadelphia as Kurt walked to the small, family-owned restaurant he worked as a chef at. The Full Platter, which was the name of the restaurant, had yet to be opened for the day, giving Kurt enough just enough time to hurry down and prepare for the day. "6:45. I really hope they have coffee ready, otherwise I'll fall asleep on the stove and burn my face off!" Kurt chuckled slightly at his own joke as he turned down an alley-way. Ahead of him was a dead end, nothing special about it yet it seemed ominous somehow. "Huh, wrong way. I'll just turn back around and head out. No biggie-" A knife up against his throat told him that it was, infact, a biggie. "Wallet, punk. Now!" A thuggish voice yelled, panicked and hurried. "A'ight, a'ight. You can have my wallet. But first, lower your knife." Kurt tried guessing his odds of survival, which were very slim in my opinion. Despite his experiences of dealing with muggings gone wrong, the thug lowered the knife and let Kurt go. "Thank you. Now before I hand over my money, I have a question. What does a fist do to a face?"

Walking out of the alleyway was a bruised Kurt, back on his path to his job. "The turn is always the SECOND corner after the streetlight, gotta remember that."

From behind the many ornate doors in the hallway of the house, sounds of physical pleasure could be heard. Taya strolled through the hallway, making sure to look like she wasn't patrolling, as if she was simply there to provide ambiance for her patrons. She wished that she was, that she didn't need to patroll her own brothel, just to make sure her workers, or friends, were not being tortured that right moment. She sighed, and was about to turn around when she stood still, her eyed alarmed, before relaxing when she traced the gasping sounds back to the room that was reserved especially for that kind of sounds.
She had gotten too easily to scare, it was ridiculous. Her coworkers were safe for now, and she should get out there to do her job. She nodded and walked back through the hallway, giving a patron who was walking towards a room with a girl at his side a smile that held a hint of seductiveness. It was something she taught all her workers when they came in: when a patron has made his choice, keep up the atmosphere, but never give him enough to make him regret his choice. Nothing soured relationships between the girls worse than patrons who ditched one for the other.
Once she went through the door that seperated the public space from their own living quarters, she hastened her step. She was behind schedule, and while she had never been a careful planner before, she had learned quickly that schedule is important if you run a business.
The cook was still in the kitchen, washing dishes while waiting for the bread to be done. She wasn't the only one who was late she guessed, as she went around packing the leftovers from their breakfast in a basket. The girls didn't seem to have been hungry, and even though she only gathered the best ingredients, soon her basket was full. It was late, but she did still have some time to take the basket to the soup kitchen.

Johnny sat in the breakfast joint, nursing a hangover. He was trying not to think too hard about anything in particular, his dark sunglasses were on, and he was using his abilities to soften the noise all around him, last night had been insane, the thump of the music and the slow, seductive, dance of the pretty redhead mixed with the juice of passion and courage, not too mention the atmosphere of pure, unadulterated fun in the air had caused both of them to fall deeply into bed with each other. Johnny smiled as he thought that he had the best job in the world, he got paid to have fun, and make sure everyone else was as well, but if he was, generally it was all good. Johnny smiled again as his food finally arrived, rubbing his hands together he dug in, figuring that perhaps last night's date wouldn't be joining him this morning, more likely as not too wiped out Regardless he smiled at the idea of a brand new day, a new adventure, he had made his money for the week, and then some, he pondered what to do with his day even as he finished eating and headed out, leaving the apartment above the diner open so the redhead could find her way out, as he walked he blocked the sound to both ears, a practice he had picked up that helped him not aggravate his hangover's overly.

Jerry felt another headache coming on, It had begun almost as soon as he left for the seedier parts of town. A dull thud that grew into a sharp stab. However grabbing his head and curling up into a ball wasn't going to be great for everyone's view on his sanity, so Jerry endured and kept walking. He could tell he was getting to his destination because the environment got worse, the cracks were large, trash was everywhere, and almost everyone had a mean look on their face.

As Jerry continued his search for something to do he noticed the brothel and stopped. Looking at the dingy building made him sad, he had saved one of the girls that worked there once. Some pig had wanted a "free service" and had taken her to a far alley. It was chance that he was even in the same area that she was, his usual spot before he found his dumpster had been covered in "anti-homeless spikes" which was total bull shit. She had been young, perhaps too young but Jerry didn't question, she had been through a lot. After the untimely rescue she showed him were she worked, tried to give him some money, and offered her services. Free of charge. Jerry didn't accept the money or the offer, he didn't much approve of prostitution but he also wasn't a fool. Money was hard to come by these days and people had to do what they could to get by.

As he was about to leave, Jerry noticed the door open and out came the Mistress. She was carrying a basket full of what he guessed was food. From what the girl had told him, she was a good person at heart even if she could be a little cold at times. She was pretty to, more than pretty really, beautiful would fit better. Jerry didn't look at that though, being homeless he was used to being alone and it wasn't really a life that gained companions. He had a dog for awhile but he got hit by a car and died. Watching her go, Jerry glanced back at the brothel and gave a last, sad sigh before continuing on his way.

Jerry didn't need to look much farther however as a car stopped next to a man in front of him and preceded to open fire. As Jerry sped up to the man in an effort to protect him something odd happened. It felt as if Jerry had been "pushed" towards the man, he even felt his feet leave the ground. Jerry collided with the man and enveloped his body over his, then the bullets started hitting. Jerry hadn't been shot before and it was a whole different experience than the punches and kicks he usually got. It felt as if he was being hit with dozens of hammers all at once but even worse than that was the headache he was getting. He was absorbing to much force, the bullets would hit him than just casually roll off his skin but the headache grew more and more as the bullets continued to do so.

Finally Jerry had had enough and tried something new. Instead of containing the impending blast that he new was coming, Jerry stared at the car with unbroken concentration until large dent suddenly and violently showed up on the drivers door, sending it up and over about two or three yards before hitting the ground topside up. But it wasn't enough. The force Jerry had absorbed was far too much than he had originally thought and he could feel it trying to become free.

As Jerry panicked, he ran as fast as he could to somewhere, anywhere were there wasn't people. As he ran ripples of force would throw trashcans, rocks, and anything else not heavier than a man a couple yards in random directions.

Joseph came out of the subway station only to realize that he had gotten off at the wrong stop. Ah well, at least he'd have a half decent reason for being late to work. As he walked through the town, he began to feel a bit peckish. This feeling only intensified as he passed what appeared to be a two story apartment building that had been refurbished for business; and smelled of fresh bread. Checking his watch again, he headed into what he assumed was a restaurant or diner of some sort.

Upon entering he was greeted by a variety of especially... Friendly women as well as a horde of sleazy men who looked a bit tipsy, he began to stutter as he thought of what to do. Soon, however, there was a crashing sound from outside, and he turned to see what it was. A gunman, and a... Homeless person? What the hell... Soon, there was an explosion of force, and the gunman's car jolted in a violent motion. At this movement, the homeless man began to flee. Joseph dropped his suitcase in the brothel and began to chase the now fleeing man in the red hoodie.

"Hey!" He called out. "How did that happen? How did you do that?" As he shouted this, Joseph began to do two things. First, he began to transfer his bodily energy to his legs, arms, and heart, accelerating rapidly. Additionally, he had begun to scan this man's body for abnormal DNA, and while he couldn't find anything, something was off about this man... His body was practically rippling with potential energy. If anything, Joseph was going to find out what this man was.

Johnny felt the waves of force ripple against the man as he was covered from the cfire that was suddenly coming at him, although while he was still trying to figure out what was going on he noticed that it all ended, but not before he caught the last bit of his savior dissapearing into a crowd, her smiled, at least now he knew what he was doing today, so he chased after the man, not entirely sure why it happened, but for damn sure that he was going to figure out what was happening, plus if there were other people with abilities, other people like him, they should probably at least meet up, at the very least it was an adventure.

Johnny was so busy thinking this that he barely noticed the man dressed in formal business attire that had joined him in the chase of the strange homelessman, only a few steps behind him, finally dropping his soundlessness, the sudden onrush of sound and stimuli almost downing him he grimaced and put on a burst of speed as he rounded a corner.

Matt sat in his small, dark, grungy apartment, carefully inserting a small weight into a die. He bit the tip of his tongue in concentration; weighting dice tends to take awhile. He perked up slightly as he heard a commotion on the street a few floors below. Shoving his half-empty salt shaker into his pocket, he jogged down the stairs, slamming open the door to the complex just as a man dashed around the corner, barreling towards him at a pretty decent rate. Acting almost without conscious though, Matt shoved his hand into his pocket, stepping quickly to the side as salt flowed out of the shaker, coalescing into almost a screen of granules suspended in front of the man's face. Grinning, Matt waited for the salt to enter his eyes.

He pictured the moment in his head—the expression of surprise, the sudden pain, the inevitable fall—and was so intrenched in his vision that he neglected to notice the other man, this time a black man in a white suit, as he came screeching around the corner with nigh superhuman speed. By the time he noticed him, the man was directly on top of him, leaving him no time to react, so he did the only thing he could.

He braced for impact.

Rony

Rony was just getting off the train when he heard an explosion coming from a restaurant. He couldn't just use his earth abilities to get to the scene faster in front of all these people. He went into bushes and used his abilities to form a rock surfboard out of the gravel near the bushes, then Rony used the rocks around him to use as armor and flew to the scene. By the time he got there he saw a homeless man running and some other guy, with impossible speed following him. Rony flew higher into the air and followed them close by, but not to close for them to notice. Maybe they're like me, Rony thought, if they are we can work together and figure out why we were chosen to have these abilities. While he was thinking, he saw the running man attack the homeless man, he was on top of him looking ready to strike him. Rony jumped off his rock board and picked up the running man, off the homeless man. "Why are about to hurt this poor man!" Rony yelled in his deepest intimidating voice.

Several things happened over the course of a few seconds. First, Joseph crashed into some punk, feeling several light crystalline pricks across his body before falling to the ground. However, Joseph was no stranger to the effects of gravity. Transferring all of his momentum into a roll, Joseph was back on his feet in seconds. Without so much as an apology, he continued his sprint, and caught up to the man in the red jacket almost immediately. Tackling him to the ground, he immediately reached into his pocket and drew his wallet, a golden badge on the inside flap.

"Philadelphia Police, explain yourself. What did you do back there?" As he was waiting for an answer, Joseph felt a gust of turbulence above him. "Why are you attacking this poor man?" a man asked, clearly trying to intimidate Joseph.

Frankly, Joseph wasn't about to take anyone floating on some rock-surfboard seriously.

He held up the badge with an irritated look on his face, and returned to the homeless man lying below him. Then something hit him. He looked back up. That man is floating on a rock. "What the hell..." He muttered to himself. Looking back, he saw the man that he had knocked down earlier looking annoyed, and another man from earlier just catching up. He looked around and saw the people of the street, and looked back up at the man on the stone before quickly looking over the biology of everyone in this small group.

"You're all too obvious. We're going to get in trouble."

There was a cracking sound as a tree on the curb bent towards the floating man, knocking him down as Joseph quickly brought the homeless man into a nearby alleyway, beckoning to everyone else to join him.

This was bad, really REALLY bad. Jerry could feel it, like a uncontrollable beast clawing to get free. The pressure was immense, he had never absorbed this much force before and with the tackle from what seemed to be a cop from the looks of the badge he carried it was just getting worse. As the cop yelled at something floating in the air and a tree flew towards it, bringing whatever it was down Jerry was beginning to lose his composer.

The waves of force were becoming stronger, pushing trashcans, shattering windows, and flinging trash sky high. During the confrontation between the cop and the thing in the sky was Jerry tried to get away, to protect them from him but the pressure was beginning to take control again and it wanted out. Just like Maine. Jerry didn't know what to do, he couldn't walk at the cop was dragging him to an alley and in this part of town nothing good ever happens in an alley.

With strangled words, Jerry said "Y...you need t..to run. C...c..can't hold it back!" trying to warn them of the danger, but as fate would have it it was too late as Jerry's world went black crumbled and exploded around him...just like Maine

Everything happened so fast for Johnny, the chase, the people, the explosions, the flying man on a rock skateboard, the alleyway, when he finally regained his composore he noticed that everything around him was loud and people were angry, and his headache was just absolutely terrible, his head felt like a tyrannosaurus in a china shop, everything he was doing was hurting, though not as bad as this morning. He then noticed, with some degree of difficulty, that the homeless looking man who had saved his life was saying something, and, using his abilities, Johnny hushed everyone, making their sounds as small as that a feather makes, and making it known to everyone else what the homelss man was saying. That didn't make him feel any better though, in fact it made the back of his head itch, an old sign of nervousness.

Taya hummed softly as she crossed the street. Her now empty basket swinging alongside her, bouncing off her legs on those irregular moments it touched them. Normally, she would have felt annoyance at the bouncing of the basket, but right now she was in an inexplicable good mood.
As she walked through the streets she began to notice some strange things had happened around here. She looked at the cars and trashcans, that all seemed to be knocked away by a strong force. At the more decent neighbourhoods, people had already tried to undo the damage, but in the seedier parts of town, the trash from the cans showed a clear track. She sighed, unable to resist her curiosity tugging at her, trying to make her follow it. This is my city, and I should know what is happening in it.
She followed the tracks, her basket forgotten and still in her hand. When she came closer to its source, she cloaked herself in shadows, staying hidden while getting an idea of the situation.

All the trouble seemed to have come from a group of men in an alleyway. They seemed to be fighting, or at least they had been, as one of the men kept another pinned to the ground, while another tried to get him off the unfortunate guy. Looking at the man on top, she realized with a shock that this wasn't a brawl between lowlifes as she had expected. The man was a cop... Grateful for her earlier decission to hide in the shadows first, she was about to sneak away when suddenly the world got quiet and the voice of one man was clearly audible.
"You need to run, can't hold it back!"
Strangely enough, the words actually kept her from running, curiosity winning it from her desire to avoid cops. That sounded awfully like something Tallented would say, and judging by the destruction that led her to this group of people, the man might just be one.

There was a jolt...

Joseph was in the air...

Something hit him in the head...

He was spinning out of control now...

He started to fall...

There was a snap...

Everything went black...

Joseph felt over his body with the little bit of energy he had left. He detected 5 broken ribs, a broken spine, a broken neck, a broken elbow, and a concussion. He looked up and saw a fire escape, still resonating with the force of that his head had so gracefully applied on the way up. Instantly, he got to work. There was a crinkling sound as his vertebrae shifted back into place, though it was more of a band-aid than anything. He would have to fix this later. Nevertheless, he got up. Then he got down. His head was still spinning, and he found it incredibly difficult to get back up again. Leaning on the wall of the alleyway, he said with a winded, broken voice, "Someone please get my suitcase, I left it in the bordello," and he halfheartedly limped back onto the sidewalk before turning around again. "Twilight Gardens Apartment Complex, room 216. I'd appreciate it if after all the trouble you've caused me you showed up at some point today." He stretched, cracking his back which was still in the process of healing. "Fools," he said on a closing note. As he headed back to his apartment, he tripped and bumped into other people and trash and any number of times.

Falling onto his bed, he was about ready to fall asleep when he was greeted by the pleasant sound of the alarm ringtone specifically selected for his boss.

"Hello?"

"You're late."

"I got mugged."

"Oh really? Because last time I checked you had a gun and police training!"

"There were four of them. They all had weapons."

"Fine, just make sure you get to the scene tomorrow."

"That's not going to happen."

"And why is that?"

"I have a concussion, and my back is," Joseph felt around to see how much progress he had made,"fractured."

"You have a week." Joseph grinned.

"A week is all I need."

Joseph hung up, got up, made some coffee, and waited for whatever was next, all the while rearranging and reassembling his body.

Constantine, luckily had a day off from work.. he wasn't needed for anything and if he was called in it would only be minuscule, something minor, nothing too extravagant and frustrating. He was out in the streets, he was heading towards his apartment when he noticed a shady guy following him.. "About time, someone has actually figured out I run most of the security systems in this entire city, I don't even look like a millionaire do I?" Constantine was only 19 and was one of the cities largest security system managers, yet he never used the money.. he had a fake part time job at a large clothing store and lived in an apartment that was clean and suitable for somone with his "wage".

Ce walked down the alley nearby, he didn't have a clue on how he would get out of this..
"Was this how I would die?" Constantine stood in front of a dead end and waited for the shady figure to catch up..
"So.. you found me" Constantine tried to act like he was in control of the situation.. even know he was freaking scared.
He heard a gun shot and as soon as he blinked he realised he was walking on the alley wall, and the bullet had missed bouncing onto the ground with the metallic clink of most bullets. No time to think Constantine ran up the wall, it was natural as soon as he got back up he was on the roof and In what seemed like normal gravity..

"What the?" he thought for a moment, he had heard about kinetic abilities before, a supposed theory that everyone was born with the necessary DNA but might not have the level of intelligence or skill to use it.. He was defying gravity? Ce didn't make assumptions he had to find somewhere to practice this suddenly new thing, he didn't react like he should have, but he wasn't normal.. so he didn't suspect to. Constantine made it home safely and figured out what he wanted to do, he'd ring an old "Acquaintance" of his, somone he knew only from mere coincidence of bumping into them once.. He knew he had something like this, he doesn't remember how he found out, but he's sure he will spring him if he tells him to meet him at the North Construction Site on Berth Avenue..

When something did happen, it certainly wasn't what Joseph was expecting. His phone buzzed again, this time with an unfamiliar tone. He read the text, and then the caller ID. Jesus Christ not you again... Just thinking about this kid brought all sorts of pain back to him. But by the sounds of it, Joseph was needed urgently, so he stood up and felt about his body.

Still a little bit screwed up, but manageable.

Joseph looked through his drawers until finding a stack of note paper, on which he wrote the message, "I lied. Construction site, Berth avenue. And somebody better bring my suitcase, there's important stuff in there," before taping the page to his door. He then set off, hopping onto his bicycle and heading towards the construction site.
Upon his arrival, Joseph saw the boy, evoking several rather painful memories. A broken clavicle, perforated lungs, ruptured spleen, and 13 bullets in places they just really shouldn't have been in. But that was the past, and Joseph looked up at the boy with a look of both contempt and admiration.

"Hello Ce, you called me? I'm Mr. Marquis. What can I help you with?" He said, pulling on the collar of his jacket.

"Ah.. Joseph, I need to show you something.. follow me" he acted as if he was an Adult, which wasn't true.. in fact he was quite young.|
He ushered Joseph to follow him.. he stopped as soon as he met the underpass of the bridge under construction, he knew this place well.. it wouldn't fall..
"You're the only one I have came to trust, It has been a while.. and well you're frankly the only other person I know that can help me out" he smiled and walked up the side of the pillar of the bridge and eventually standing upside down, all of his hair was in contempt.. it was exactly that.. gravity had changed.. only for his mass.

"I heard you have a what is it called... Kinetic Ability?" he laughed.. showing his youth..
"I didn't know who else to call, I'm confused as well" he was nonchalantly asking Joseph to help him.
"So, what do you think it is? I have no clue yet" He sat on the bridge's under-pass as if it was like he was sitting on the floor.
He looked straight down at Joseph smiling, in contempt of his shock.

Rony

After Rony recovered from being hit by a tree he realized that the running man and the homeless man was gone. "Uhh... did that guy say he was a cop?" Rony got so confused he didn't know what to do. While thinking of what to do, either use his earth powers to track the man down or gone on about his business, Rony saw another guy in the street seeming in pain. Being the helper he was, Rony went over to the guy to see what was wrong. Just to be safe, Rony formed a rock shield out of the street gravel so nothing would surprise attack him. "Hey... ummm are you ok sir?" Rony ask the guy who kept holding his head like he was in pain. Could be one of them? The Chosen Ones?
