Jarrod sighed as he sizened up their odds. Honestly, the whole thing seemed too risky. But what choice did they really have here? Turning to Angelo, the swordsman gave him a thumbs up. "Alright, it's up to you then. Your home, your battle. Just...try not to get killed or do anything stupid, alright? We can't exactly have our grand journey and adventure when we're one companion short, right?" Without another word, Jarrod blasted off to the sky with a burst of air.

Seeing this, Yggdrasil let loose a torrent of purple flame crackling with electricity at the flying swordsman. Jarrod veered to the right, then the left to avoid the coming blows. Great. Now it was combining elemental attacks? Seeing the purple substance head straight for his allies, Jarrod rocketed back to them in seconds..

"Watch out!" He spun his blade around, generating a mini vortex to block and scatter forth the attack.

Ananeas listened to his companions talking. Though he didn’t like the idea of the poison boy killing the blasted dragon, but he wasn’t sure he could do it himself as well. And since their leader said its okay he can’t really ignore that. Not as they just began to work together. Ananeas quickly put on his air glider, but he didn’t know how to turn it on. Grabbing one of the two handles he began pressing buttons at random, when all of a sudden he pressed the right one and was blown into the air. At first he had a little problem with steering but quickly got used to it. Taking his sling and a couple of magic stones he singed them into the dragon, while randomly flying around.

I grabbed my own glider getting my arrow ready as I pressed the buttons as was flying in a different direction to catch it by surprise. this was my only shot to make the damn thing pay for what its done to my home. I flew around its body to find its weak spot and the only one I saw was the part in its armor with a glowing purple to it and I decided to aim for it and hope for the best. I used my most powerful explosive arrow and my worst posion in combination to make the poison eat away at its armor when the explosion caught it and made a break in its armor. I shot the arrow and as expected it made a large explosion but I couldn't tell if it matter until the black smoke cleared....

The resulting explosion was enough to knock the dragon back, forcing it to take to the sky. Once the dust finally cleared, Jarrod squinted his eyes to see if they had done any damage to the creature. He was met by a defeaning roar. A large hole was evidently seen on its armor, and the purplish energy that inhabited the interior of the beast began to leak out messily. There was no blood, flesh, or bone. Simply the energy that crackled as it hit the ground. Jarrod grimaced.

"Alright...that's a bit nasty."

Yggdrasil howled its pain towards the heavens before turning its burning gaze on the group.

"You...will all burn! For denying...and rejecting...the truth!"

In a torrent of pure power, the great dragon began to slowly fade away, bringing with it the rest of the Anomalies and any other distortions to the world. But it wasn't dead. Far from it. It would be back.

Sighing in relief, Jarrod turned to his comrades. "So I guess...we won for now? Angelo, I believe that warrants us a few drinks, don't you think?"

once Yggdrasil disappeared I got back on the ground and I dropped onto my back coughing up a little poisoned blood. "not just a few drinks but a whole damn party!" I said weakly. although the explosion and poison arrow was my most destructive weapon it was also the most taxing on my body to handle. using that plus all the huge amount of poison on the arrows I used before made my body start to overproduce the poisons in my body from what I read the worst case scenario for people who used my abilities was that they literally disintegrated into themselves from the poison that spewed from them. thankfully mine was light so I would only need rest and some anti-venom but overall I would be fine "free drinks on the house, but you might want to tell my parents first" I laughed weakly

Ananeas watched as the dragon flew into the sky and disappeared. With it all the bad things diapered as well. Ananeas let out a big sigh. He was so worried if his plan would work or not and if he would prove useful or not, that it took al of his energy. Now that everything was over he felt a huge relief. “I agree a whole party would be an awesome thing to end today.” For a moment he looked around. “Am I blind or is there only a three of us left.” It true that in the midst of fighting Anaeas rarely looked for his teammates, so anything could happen to anyone and he wouldn’t notice. “I have to keep more attention to things. “He said to himself. Slowly he flew back to the ground and joined with the other two.

Corvain walked back into view, an dead armored anomaly stuck to his sword "Not three but four still comrade." HE says and plants the dead anomaly on the ground and, placing his foot on it's head wrenches his sword out of it's body, he was breathing heavily, a lot of his armor now with gouges torn into it from battle. "I'll have to repair my armor but yes a party doesn't sound to bad. Everyone got out of town, and should be coming back now. Good shot by the way Angelo." He says pulling his helmet and chest piece off, his face twisted in slight pain, "It was one hell of a fight though."

"Ugh, strange readings in the west . . . .You're the only one with enough combat and engineering skill . . . Well it was you're invention in the first place that picked up the readings blah blah blah" Even from ways outside the town the dragon could be seen and Josh, for the first time in his life, cursed his skill with machinery. While far from refined he devised a device that can pick up micro plasma emissions from warp technology that the anomalies used. When it turned on scientists decided three things that probably should have been obvious first; Josh was a genius, second; there were a lot more anomalies warping in and out for the device to be particularly useful, and three; in times that many anomalies pop up in the same area someone should be sent out to investigate.

With the southern armies stretched thin enough as it was being a vast desert land that hid almost as many bandits as it did actual people, it was left up to Josh to investigate large scale anomalies outside of the southern front, after all being a part of the military is really one of the few downsides to being a military asset. Though he couldn't blame them for the lack of military support honestly if a group of armed southern Mamluk just went to another region the paperwork and red tape would be piled so high the damn dragon himself would probably be able to read it, but at the same time in moments like these he probably could use the fire power.

The town was worse for wear with anomalies running amok inside it, thankfully though someone had the foresight to get people out, However no one seemed to know how to defend themselves in the group which was still a huge problem. Josh sent 2 quick jolts and one massive stream of electricity threw his custom built motorcycle the jolts released his favorite toys from their saddles Arjuna and Rai unfolded and took off with a surprisingly quite thump thump thump of their blades. They circled widely around the crowd many terrified, not that Josh could blame them. To those who had never seen drones before they could be mistaken for anomalies and outside of larger cities many distrusted even simple machines. With the data for the "safezone" collected the machines got to work opening fire on the first anomaly that approached. Normal creatures would have turned to red mist the second the firing had started, anomalies were made of sturdier stuff but still no match for the heavy air support and wound up looking more like a cheese grater than advanced tech.

pulling up on the civilian a few moments later he called out "people of the west we send aid from the south . . . Errr well that sounded just a tad bit corny didn't it? Just remain calm and in the area and my two friends will handle most of the work I . . ." mid sentience yggdrasil bellowed out and faded away slowly taking the anomalies with it. ". . . . will handle the rest?" People swarmed around him quickly many to thank him but a few calling out that there were still some people in the town. "I will bring back what I can wait here just in case anomalies got left behind to clean up." He doubted there was anything that remained and if it did, whether or not it was but a husk of its former self none the less he slowly began his walk into town cautious to his surroundings.

Jarrod raised an eyebrow in alarm at Angelo's condition. "I think we should focus on your health first before telling any grand epics, don't you think?" As he crossed his arms behind his head and led the way back to Angelo's tavern, he could hear the faint traces of a voice that seemed to be amplified. Listening closely, he realized that said voice was about to level the place and destroy all the Anamol-no, wait, never mind. The voice halted in its orders, realizing that Yggdrasil was now gone from the immediate area.

Jarrod sighed. "Now they send in reinforcements? That could have helped about five minutes ago. Oh well, we might as well check it out, right?" Walking to the outskirts of the town, he saw a strange looking man with two drones hovering with him. The evacuated towns people seemed to be cheering him for something.

"H-Hey! We did all the work here!" He turned back to his allies with his arms outstretched and waving around in a hurry. "Come on guys, back me up here! We can't just let the government upstage us, right?"

Corvain smiled and shook his head "My government no less, did you hear he said help from the south what's going on?" Corvain says walking into view of the other southern kingdom citizen. "I am Corvain Ulthreos leader of the Ulthreos honor guard and second son of the ruling house of the kingdom." He looks the other man over "Who are you to speak for our people?" He stood there looking Josh over, he didn't recognize him, despite that not meaning anything, he didn't like it when random civilians spoke for a kingdom. It irked him. He kept his cool however and waited for the man to speak.

Ananeas was pleased when the Knight returned. Though the armour was a mess the man himself is quite healthy. The same could not be said about the poison man. He was coughing up blood, which no matter how you put it it's a bad sign. Though the young man explained why it has come to this, Ananeas was worried for his new companion, but he didn't show it. He went to pick up his cape which was blown away and stuck on some old wire.
After he came back he noticed the Knight talking to someone new. He slowly walked closer and in the mean time listened closely, trying to figure out what was the discussing subject.

"yeash your family pays for my schooling and then tosses me to the army to be forgotten, some friends you are." he laughed mostly to himself before continuing. "Full title High Engineer of the 32nd, division Refined Electrical Automation for Combat use R.E.A.C for short. Your army decided to send me out due to several Plasma shifts being detected in the area. So relax no glory hogging here just to observe large scale shifts and save whoever I can. As for the cheering it was because some of the anomalies came after them in the end there." he pointed to a bit of wreckage staring a cool stare at the boy(Jarrod). "I can appreciate your combat skills for going in there and coming out alive, but please don't raise a protest every time someone else does something during your good deed it comes off as glory hounding."

With that he turned around and sent to small flickers of lightning to the drones forcing the current to the appropriate circuits, making the return to their holders folding neatly into two pillars near the end of the seat where they "docked". "Now if you don't mind I think we should be celebrating your victory and the good fortune that no one was seriously hurt after such a huge disaster.

I smirked at that, at least we could agree that we needed a party " I can agree with that part, party at the family tavern!" I called coughing again and going limp in the ground breathing hard trying not to cough anymore as my dad grabbed my arm to hold me up "like my son said party at the tavern on us!" As all the villagers cheered going to the tavern

At the explanation of events, Jarrod just sighed. "Well, I guess it's nice to know we have the government on our side for this thing." Grinning, he extended his hand out to Josh in greeting. "Name's Jarrod Smith, sir. Leader and benefactor of...uh...well, we haven't really named ourselves anything yet." Turning to his other three companions, he gave them a shrug.

"Well fellows? Any idea of what we should call ourselves? Nothing too corny like the Dawn Slayers....and no, we're not calling ourselves the "Grell Mercenaries". As they continued walking to Angelo's tavern, Jarrod couldn't help but wonder back to Yggdrasil's babbling. Sure, it was probably just nothing. But then again...when were any of these things just "coincidence".

The swordsman rested his palm on his blade in thought. "Hmm...return to the source....?"

"Not just that but what about the burning for rejecting the truth part as well." He says pulling up his armor and walking in pace with Jarrod, "What is this truth for one, and is it something we can live with?" He muses sliding his sword into the sheath on his back. He pulls out his pistol and reloads it. "This was fun, and despite the damage my armor is an easy fix." He says moving his hair out of his eyes. He wasn't exactly happy about the fact that it took an extremely powerful, and almost devastating attack, against both the dragon and their friend. "I do hope Angelo will be alright, with all the anomalies I couldn't get off a decent shot with my magic." He looks towards the young archer and hsi worryh deepened. "Hopefully he just needs rest." He says looking back at Jarrod "So where to next fearless leader.?" He asks jokingly.

fighters of fate" I said to them as a name for what we were. since we needed a title I figured it would be a good one since they say that ygdrassil was the prophesy that the world would begin a new I thought we would be changing fate into our favor and making sure that everyone lived we would fight to change the fate of all of us. my father dragged me inside the tavern taking me to the room down the hall to the left, the first door and he laid me on the bed and he started to wrap up my wounds as I slept on the bed in a deep sleep thankfully the sleeping was keeping me from coughing so for the moment I was quiet as my mother and sister started opening kegs of beer and ale sending it around to everyone. my sister went to them "you guys get the hero's table!" she said pointing to the large table that might as well have looked like the round table for knights in the south. although this table had the seal of poison representing this side of the world

"Fighters of fate, huh? That doesn't sound half bad." Jarrod led the group to the self appointed "Heroes Table" where they each reacived a drink courtesy of Angelo's family. "Nice logo," Jarrod said, looking at the poison symbol on the table. "Well, I guess we could try and go to the Central Regions," he answered in response to Corvain's question. "There's supposed to be shrines there in worship of The Dyteniteity. I guess that counts as "the source".

Leaning back, he placed a hand on his chin in thought. "Anyone have a wild guess what this "source" is anyway? We can all assume it has something to do with this world's deity, The Dyteniteity." The swordsman narrowed his gaze.

"According to legend, the almighty being known as Yggdrasil is one that harbors The Dyteniteity's Will and seeks to bring this world anew. Whatever that means....but still...I'm starting to think that if this is all true then..."

He gave Corvain and Josh a stare.

"Maybe then...The Dyteniteity has lost faith in humanity. So it wants to recreate a better world. By destroying this one."

taking a rather large gulp of his drink and with a large sigh said "It could mean virtually anything it doesn't even have to necessarily be this world, for all we know its trying to usher us to his, her. it's home and this could just be one seriously messed up warning." taking another huge gulp and slaming down his mug he continued, "after all what little knowledge of Yggie that we have is very limited in scope or even origin for that matter."
