Intensive? Look, lady, this is not insensitive. In fact, I'm quite sensitive to the plight of others. Empathy is one of my strongest traits. Unfortunately, reading between the lines is not. I swear, I couldn't care less. That's YOUR decision. There are really only a few things that bother me like that. 9/11 jokes (because wow, that's low) and pedophilia jokes (Because childhood issues, although I do find Pedobear humorous, so that last one, not so much).

Now. All that asshole stuff being said. Do I feel sorry for your friend? Absolutely. Mental illness is a horrible thing to live with. Truly terrible, and I hope to God that they can overcome that setback and live their life as full as they can (if they aren't already). But, I still like seeing characters in fiction who have mental diseases. I like seeing a mentally retarded person overcome adversity. Like how the guy with autism was the only survivor of the cube in The Cube. I also like seeing characters who are clearly insane go off the deep end. Like Yuno Gasai. She is so badass, partly to the fact that she's Yuno Fucking Gasai, and partly to the fact that she's stone cold fuck nuts. The Mastermind in Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc is also bat-shit crazy and possibly has dissociative identity disorder. Or at the very least gets bored with their own personality and switches to another other. And to that end they organized a Murder game where the best and brightest high school students have to kill each other. And I fucking love that game! Serial Killers are clearly deranged and yet slasher flicks are so popular that they ended up making a serial killer a protagonist! I.E. Dexter!

Look, my goal wasn't to use mental illness as an insult, or an attack, or a representation of how fun it can be, or a understatement of how horrifying it can be. I simply wanted to add a layer of depth to my (note, my) character. There is a certain level of badassness that comes with a certain type of crazy. And that badassness was what I was trying to incorporate into Ayame by emulating things I have seen in certain shows. But that's NOT a reflection of how I feel. This is escapism for me. Where I can go to live out fantasies and do things that I can't do in real life. I play Mortal Kombat, but I don't kill people. I watch Seikon no Qwaser, but I don't go around drinking breast milk (seriously, that's how their powers work. It's fucked up, I know, but the action is soooooo awesome, and the plot is amazing). I watch My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, but I don't... um... with horses... hang on.... that kinda has nothing to do with the point I'm making. Whatever. Look, I know the difference between Fiction. And reality. What I do in a fictitious RP does not reflect how I feel in reality. It's an escape. How do you escape the horror of a mental disease. You make it cool.

And the new character I want to use, only has the problem of having a power that horrendously clashes with his personality. No mental issues aside from being withdrawn. Okay? However, knowing the fact that 1 in 6 women (and 1 in 30 men) experience rape in their lifetime I am quite careful before going that route.

Also, in your tirade, I think you missed out on the "uncomfortable" aspect I mentioned, that someone might not want to discuss such things.

I would like to point out that saying you are empathetic does not make you empathetic and the last 5 or so posts of yours really do not reflective any sort of empathy. In addition to that, she's not the only one you're pissing off by 1) just doing what you're doing 2) how you're handling the entire thing in the OOC. People react differently to different things, you saying "you make it cool" does not make it so for everyone. There isn't some catchall, sure that might work for some people, but for other people there are still emotional reactions. People are also on different stages of processing.

I am willing to wager you will continue to focus on the wrong aspects of what other people are saying. This is not an attempt to drag out some perceived drama. I'm going to tell you straight up, you need to listen so much better and wrap your head around the idea that other people think different things than you do and that it's perfectly fine. You're not going to convince anyone of anything, like we're not trying to convince you of anything. We're just asking you to please be respectful. You are making it very hard for me to want to concentrate on this RP, both in the OOC and in the IC. I am so willing to quite talking about this if there stops being parts of it that need discussing. In that same vein, most of what you said has very little to do with the actual problem.

Speaking of the IC, I'm still slowly working on my post from here in the land of Corn (Iowa). It's been pretty busy and y'all know I am infrequent regardless of anything else. Hilariously enough the internet in my great grandmother's assisted living home is better than the internet at my house.

And there's nothing wrong with that. Because you understand the difference between fiction and reality. Hell, one of my all-time favorite Tales of the Abyss fanfics starts as a rape between Luke and Tear, then moves to passionate rape, then willing sex. By the end of it, they're a couple. Does that happen in real life? I sure as hell hope not. But this is my OTP of Tales and the story is very well written. Plus it's an escape from what the horrors of rape REALLY are. Rapists deserve to burn. Or at least have their genitalia removed. And yes, it can be a slippery slope, but in my opinion, so long as the person doesn't have truly malicious intents, some leeway can be given (although there are exceptions).

I can't tell if you're trying to explain to me what empathy truly is because you feel I don't actually have it, or are pointing out that you also have empathy. Either way, it's moot. You've already made your point and I accepted it.

I would just post it as the next day, regardless of what is happening now something is going to erupt soon but I have to wait for someone to agree on how to do it first. I posted as the next day so maybe you should to. Maybe following the GM's time zone will be easier.

I think this arc will be awesome, just like all the other arcs I have lined up. Also we passed another mile stone, we made it through mansion time without someone playing run away and destroying the RP. Like last time >.>
