First off I love Cora's hypocrisy, it makes her feel much more like a real person to me. I don't think Isolation is much of a problem, as well trained as Stitches thinks she is at this, there is a good reason she keeps getting bullied so you'll pretty much always get some response out of her, she thinks ahead but she doesn't act on it well, especially when she believes to have the upper hand. The hypocrisy runs both ways, at least that's what I'll be aiming for, which should be nice character development for the both of them.

my secret plan to appear competent is working
Nah, I just kinda roll with it. In a lot of ways Cora acts indepently of myself, so my saying that she is hypocritical was actually me realizing that her previous actions weren't the same as her statement. And her idea of 'pretentious' is a little different than she acts, but she's still hypocritical because she's acting superior. Much like a dog, she's trying to establish herself as the Alpha of the pack. When no one went her way, she backed off, waiting for them to show more of themselves. She'll also be pretty loyal to those whom she likes, but that will take time. Maybe a life or death situation or two.
Magara could win her over by just letting Cora feed Carl treats occasionally

Mag @ the ice breakers:

The one thing that will be most apparent during the ice breakers is that Mag is very uncomfortable and very unaccustomed to being the focus of attention. I'm not sure what kind of games they play, but she is one of those people whom, when receiving the talking-stick or it is her turn to speak, though they may have seemed confident right before, and had been sitting their the whole time deciding how to answer the question, suddenly forget their whole life story and what the question even was, seeming to struggle to give the one word answers they manage to reply with. Classic stage fright.

She's from Turkey.
She has lived in Cypress and Istanbul.
"... Um... I don't know... " (The awkward answer to awkward 'what is your favorite color' question. Indirectly indicating that she has always been blind.)
Her favorite food is a Turkish dessert called Güllaç.
She would really know how to talk about her power, Vita might help out?
She would feel more confident answering any questions about Carl:
Carl is a retired military dog and now a service dog
Carl's favorite food is Lamb Kebabs, but really does love all kinds of food.
Carl is colorblind, so he does not have a favorite color either....

Map: Sweet! I'm working on its :3 *channels unrealized interior design dreams into Bap*'

Rain Dash gave me an idea in her last OOC post. Hope you all find it as amusing as I did writing it. "Alpha Dog"

Ok... it's prolly time for VITA to send us off to training or something, so.... whoever has control of the AI (I'm assuming it's Famotill) should prolly get on that.

Famo isn't always on. You just need to be patient and wait. And in the meantime, yes, our characters will chitchat inanely.

Ehh I might as well give out some icebreaker info for Press.

He's from California.
Favorite color is white.
Favorite food: Cheeseburger.
Worked to help make income for his family by creating toys out of parts from a nearby junkyard and selling them to classmates, then as he got older, worked with mother by creating and even patenting some devices used today (names kept unknown).
Created many inventions over his lifetime, many of which are now obsolete, malfunctioning, or still in use.

You should just write us all to the training room and put is in pairs already.

I assume there's room for all the pairs to spar at the same time?

Is that how everyone would like to handle this, doing all the battles at the same time? I feel like that would get pretty hectic.

I dunno, seems both scenarios of battling all at the same time or one pair at a time have pros and cons. All at the same time means we get through this quicker, but one at a time means the characters (and more importantly, us) can examine everyone's fighting abilities.

Yeah. All at once would be a lot of posts flying around.

But one at a time would be a lot of waiting on everyone's part.

On the plus sides:

One at a time, as Scar said, means our characters get to watch. And the overseers might see that as important.

All at once: we'll get done and get to move on to other things sooner.

I'm personally of the opinion that all at once is better. Because the main advantage to one at a time is really only an advantage to the characters. Remember that, story aside, this is a game, and the point is to have fun. Waiting around and watching while others play just isn't as enjoyable.

But getting it done fast and potentially leaving people behind isn't fun for everyone either Plus, with posts flying around it can become very confusing. My suggestion for a compromise is to RP it sort of like a montage. The characters that are fighting will have two to three posts just to show off their rp style with combat and display their fighting capabilities. Then we can move onto the next person. We don't even have to declare any characters as winners. I think this would make the most sense in terms of story as well, as it'd be difficult for two overseers to assess fighting capability when everyone is fighting at the same time.

This may or may not be my evil plot to use my character to his fullest extent but we could do a pair of two that fight another pair of two. That way it measures our teamwork as well. Just a suggestion.

True stuff.

My question on the subject of winners or no winners is this: What about characters who would be affected by the win or loss, one way or the other? It could be important to how the character behaves.

I have a suggestion. Maybe the people fighting can just have a collab post by using that site called titanpad to type together saving time and space also making the fight go smoother by having one player write one past and then the other writing another

Fights, aren't really fights if a person writes a 3 paragraph post on punching someone and then has to wait an hour to see another 3 paragraph post about that person reacting and countering. It should be short and fast.

I like Sarah's idea. I always hated fights because you had to wait a long time to do a single action.

Good idea. I always did prefer complex actions between two characters at once, rather than just waiting for each character to react and counterattack.

I think all fights should be done in this manner.

Though, I usually just use google docs.

Once you all are paired up I suggest PMing and figuring out what site you will use. In an old RP I was in collabing would be used often and had these rules;

1. Collabs must be at least 4 paragraphs with each player having the same number as posts as the other but the length should not exceed 8 paragraphs.
2. the post paragraphs must have decent length but not to much. (Usually my partner and I would right about 3 lines and then pass it onto the next)
3. Balance dodging and receiving hits to the point where that person is a realistic opponent.
4. Each team will have 3 posts to complete their battle, inbetween these posts other members of the RP can post brief reactions or words of encouragement to the players who will react as best as they can.

Thats just how I was taught to do collabs.
