Dark Angels Space Marines, by Chris Zuron.

TL;DR Summary:
- Warhammer 40K
- Small sector of worlds are in rebellion after an Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor goes missing following a call for reinforcement that Space Marines in the area on a recruiting mission answer.
- 6th Squad, 3rd Company, Dark Angels Chapter in a strike frigate.
- Tactical Squad, so ten Space Marines at best. But it can easily be less depending on how many sheets I get.
- No other types of Imperial character besides Space Marines. The reason for this is that NPC roles are already figured out for these organizations, and are part of the plot. Sorry.

In Character Info:
Argyos Prime is a highly industrialized Hive World, though there are other worlds in the Sector, including Scorpio, a Death World, and Erinyes, the inhabitable moon of Fury Prime. Sector Governor of Argyos, Ariston Sotirios, takes control of entirely, using various means to have his opponents and colleagues in the Eccleistarchy and Arbites and other sector power structures removed and replaced with people that will rubber stamp his rule.

Concerned, the Ordo Hereticus send inquisitor Antonia Theodoria on a preliminary investigation on Argyos; whatever she uncovered, she sent a call for reinforcement to meet with her at the planet Fury, whose moon, Erinyes, is habitable and plays host to the sector's only astropathic choir, renowned for sending messages stronger and faster than most. She is expected to deliver her report and take on her reinforcements from there.

The nearest Sisters of Battle, the first choice of the Ordo Hereticus, are further away than a detachment of Dark Angels chapter Space Marines, en route to Scorpio on a recruitment mission, who agree to assist the Inquisitor in her investigation, sensing an opportunity to serve the Emperor and the Chapter. They set for Eriynes, where they would meet with the Inquisitor and be briefed. The 6th Squad, 3rd Battle Company of the Dark Angels Space Marine Chapter find themselves in orbit above Erinyes in the Gladius Frigate Repentance when it receives an urgent general broadcast for request from a beleaguered colonel of the Imperial Guard. Enemy? Unknown xenos. The Inquisitor? Dead on Argyos.

Out of Character Info:
This RP takes the Dark Angels, easily the most conspiratorial of the Space Marine chapters, into familiar, but also emotionally charged territory. The characters themselves do not know the details of their own history, merely that they are in penance for a great and ancient sin (though the Sergeant knows more...) The battle-brothers are eager, in the face of what seems to be heresy and treason, to start killing heretics and traitors. They have, of course, been prepared during all their service as Space Marines to loathe these things. That, of course, was done for a reason.

There are Xenos attacking one of the Emperor's worlds. They are Space Marines, His wrath. It seems straightforward, but nothing ever is...

The thing with plots is that it's generally easier if one creates the bad guy first -- I've created the antagonists, fleshed out their goals and set things into motion on their behalf. The characters, the Space Marines, will find out what's going on little by little, going deeper down the rabbit hole. So, in a sense, this isn't just about combat, but politics. The Dark Angels have a lot of political and historical baggage, a lot of intrigue on their plates, and felt like the perfect chapter to embroil in a multi-layered plot of different moving parts.

That, of course, is also why I don't want people playing characters from other parts of the Imperium. The Dark Angels are on their own here, in a sense, that they can't trust anyone. Quite possibly, they can't even trust each other or their chapter.

I'm not too much a fan of Space Marines, but this has caught my interest. Assuming this interest check is still viable.

It's still viable. And yeah, I know that Space Marines seem one-dimensional, but that's why I picked the Dark Angels -- they aren't, and this plot is designed to involve all sorts of quandaries that would be peculiar to the Chapter.

So technically we'll be part of Ravenwing?

EDIT: Oh, wait, your TL;DR info and 'In Character' story don't match up. TL;DR says we're 2nd Company, but 'In Character' story says 3rd.

Third company, tactical marines -- not Ravenwing. Good catch.

While I would have prefered Salamanders or Space Wolves amongst the loyalists, Dark Angels are pretty good, too. Count me in. Might even be able to get us another member.

Although I'm a Salamander through and through, Dark Angels are my 2nd favourite Chapter tied with the Grey Knights. I'm actually reading The Purging of Kadillus right now. ^^

Also, I know it's predominantly a Chaos weapon, but how ludicrous would it be for my Marine to use a Chain Axe? I know some Loyalists use Power Axes but I'd rather not be the guy who wants to start with Power Weapons. :P

Well, the OP says we're suppose to be a tactical marine squad. So, to my knowledge, that would mean the majority of us would be using bolters and combat knives, with a single heavy weapon and a special weapon.

Unless Dark Angels is more lenient with the Codex. My knowledge of the Dark Angels is sparse at best.

I'm somewhat interested, thanks to Tracker. And as to Kalas' question, as I understand it, most marines carry a close combat weapon of some kind, but it's not limited to a combat knife. some have chain weapons and some have other, weirder shit. Chain axes were more common before the Horus heresy, and their use was seen mostly amongst the legions that turned traitor. While it's not outside the realm of possibility, a chain axe could almost be considered a relic weapon since they are so rare in the service to the emperor. That is my take on it at least, you'll want to ask buddy-whats-in-charge though. Considering what I know of the dark angels, which is limited to be fair, you probably won't get a chain axe...

I know that the Flesh Tearers still use them and I'm sure the Minotaurs do as well. Plus, don't the Space Wolves steal and purify Chaos gear to use for themselves?

I'll be fine if the boss doesn't allow it, I'm just trying to switch things up for my character. :D

I'm sure I remember reading it somewhere, along with them boarding a Chaos Flagship and using against a Chaos Fleet. I think it's the 13th Company who reuse Chaos armour..but then again, they are lost in the Warp. O.o
