Plot:

There is a camp secretly run by SHIELD just for the children of past heroes and children of unknown people who have developed powers and abilities, in this camp the children get to interact with others somewhat like them talk about their experiences of having parents with superpowers, parents that have saved the world from many dangers. And just having powers and what not in general not only can are they here to have fun but it is also a test, a test to see if these kids have what it takes to be the next generation of Earth's Mightiest Heroes. They will go through different trials the test the mind and their physical strengths. The camp has veteran SHIELD Agents as well as some of the heroes themselves as mentors, will the kids be able to make their parents proud and join them in hero status? Or will they go back home and continue to live normal lives, at least somewhat normal lives.

Rules:

You may create your own character of really any type not just children of other heroes

Cannons are allowed to be used as we could use some mentors

Once a child of a cannon has been created, that cannon is closed for children: I.E I'm going to be creating a daughter of Thor and Jane Foster, so any children of Thor and her are closed. (I was trying to word this better in my head, didn't work out. LoL)

Age of characters: 15-18

Please be respectful to everyone, you know all that jazz.

Character Skeletons will be posted here: Age, personality, brief history (I'm not expecting a huge detailed history as mine isn't that big either.) picture...etc..

That's about it for the rules, I'm pretty laid back and if anyone wants to contribute at all or has any ideas on how to make it better feel free I love it when everyone contributes to the game!

I'm gonna try and play this guy close to comic canon, but I plan on deviating a little to add my own touch.

Name: James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes
Alias: Captain America
Age: Technically somewhere in his 90s, maybe even 100s. But psychically speaking, he's around 30 something.
Gender: Male

Personality: James was standoffish to idea of training a bunch of snot nosed brats. First off, he's not overly fond of kids. Second, he suffers serious PTSD, and believes himself to be a ticking time bomb. However, Steve Rodgers and the rest of the Avengers (and SHIELD) had faith and encouragement in him. So, begrudgingly, he agreed.

James holds most people at arms length, refusing to let himself get close. The few exceptions being the Avengers, who helped him through his rehab and whom he eventually fought beside. He's coarse, stoic, and at first, not very patient with his students. He quickly earns himself a reputation for being 'that asshole teacher who assigns extra homework because he can'. It's clear that he's not too enthusiastic about being there, and the only reason he stays is because he's seeking some kind of redemption for the whole "Winter Soldier" thing.
However, after a few weeks at the camp, (in between missions and mayhem), James finally starts to find that the kids are growing on him. With each new batch, he returns to his hardass teaching methods, but it doesn't take as long for him to warm up to them. One has to wonder, who's teaching who?

Abilities: (copy and pasted from the wiki page)

Having trained under Steve Rogers (the original Captain America in World War II) and others in the time leading up to World War II, "Bucky" Barnes is a master of hand-to-hand combat and martial arts, as well as being skilled in the use of military weapons such as firearms and grenades. He also used throwing knives on occasion and was a gifted advance scout. His time as the covert Soviet agent known as the Winter Soldier helped to further hone his skills, making him the equal to his predecessor in combat skills and an expert assassin and spy. He is also fluent in many languages, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Russian, Latin, and Japanese. He can understand French.

Winter Soldier's left arm is a cybernetic prosthetic with superhuman strength and enhanced reaction time. The arm can function when not in contact with Barnes and can discharge bolts of electrical energy from its palm. The arm can discharge an EMP causing electronics to either shutdown or become useless. The use of Barnes' EMP is shown when Barnes uses it to shutdown a Nick Fury LMD and when he attempts to use it on Iron Man. The arm has a holographic function to disguise it as a flesh and blood arm.

As Captain America, he possesses the original, indestructible, vibranium alloy shield used by his predecessor, as well as a Kevlar/Nomex blend, shock-absorbing costume. He often carries several conventional weapons such as knives, guns - mostly a Colt 1911-A1 .45 and a P08 Luger - and grenades.

The reason he was chosen was his experience, while under Hydra, he trained several soldiers. They told him "it's pretty much the same thing, just without the killing."

Other: Because of his PTSD, James often find himself losing control. He takes medication for it, but even the strongest prescription can't erase what Hydra did to him. To help him in his recovery, some of the Avengers insisted he get a therapy dog. James was stubbornly against it, because he was doing just fine and he didn't need some mutt following him around, until they brought the dog home one day. For a few weeks, he pretended that the golden lab was a nuisance, but the ruse didn't last long. The man and his dog became inseparable. The dog, Lehigh, came with him to the camp.

Appearance:
Out of costume:

In costume:

History:

James lost his father early on in WW2. He was sort of adopted by the soldiers at Camp Lehigh as a mascot. There, he met Steve Rodgers, the original Captain America. After training and gaining experience as a soldier, Bucky became the Capt's sidekick. All was fine and dandy until a mission went south. Captain American and Bucky found themselves of an experimental drone plane, armed with a bomb. The bomb exploded while they were trying to disarm it, sending Captain America into the North Atlantic to be deep frozen, and Bucky to god knows where.

Everyone presumed his dead when Captain America was found and unthawed. Little did they know that the Russians had found Bucky first. He was revived, all memory of his past lost, and given a new arm. They 'reprogrammed' him to be their own personal Cold War assassin, the Winter Soldier. He was incredibly successful as he traveled all across the globe, committing assassination and then disappearing like a ghost. However, because of his reprogrammed memories, he was unstable. To keep him from rebelling. Hydra kept him in cryo freeze. This allowed him to live on for 70 years, while only aging a few.

It was 70 years later, after Captain America was thawed and brought back into action, that Bucky was discovered. While sent to assassinate the patriotic hero, Steve recognized his old best friend. SHIELD was eventually able to save him, bring back his old memories, and give him work to keep him busy. However, his identity had to be kept secret. The Winter Soldier's death was faked, so that Hydra wouldn't try to hunt him down. After Steve's supposed death and resignation, Bucky was talked into becoming Captain America. Only a select few SHIELD agents, and Avengers, know the true identity of this new Captain America, and if anyone else found out, they could all be in danger.

It was with much persuasion that James agreed to come to the camp to train kids. SHIELD thought it would help him in his slow and steady recovery, and certainly help discipline the kids. James is careful to not let anyone see him without his mask, or to let his bionic arm show.

Name: Samuel Keller
Alias: Hothead
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Height: 6ft 1
Lineage: Samuel is the son of the mutant, Hellion, he was the first born of a union between Julian and an unknown mother.

Powers: Samuel has the mutant ability of Thermal manipulation, with this he can create, shape and manipulate temperature, a form of kinetic energy between particles at the atomic or molecular level: the greater the movement of these particles, the greater the thermal energy and reversed. This allows him to generate ice and fire though he cannot control them, only create or alter the temperature of an object. He can however throw the fire and ice, but where it goes and what it does after is beyond him.

Personality: Samuel is charismatic and often lives up to his father's personal attitude and his own alias. He is brash and quick to anger but also quick to forgive. He acts on impulse but is not stupid. He often argues with his sister but loves her deep down and will always rush to protect her. His friends, (those that stay by his side) are dear to him also and he will often put his own life on the line to save them.

History: Samuel doesn't talk much about his history, usually avoiding the question with his antics. However from what he has divulged it wasn't an easy upbringing, just himself, his sister and a severely powerful mutant father who tested them for powers near on every day. But it wasn't all bad, in fact they had a happy enough childhood. Hellion genuinely cared for them both and took them out on picnics and the like, he was kind and treated them well and fairly, with the exception of combat training and testing for powers. Samuel admits that the combat training helped him a lot but he still harbours a little resentment against his father for the testing, even when he gained his abilities, his father grew gruff with him, since he hadn't obtained the same abilities, unlike his sister. He trained himself for the most part until he discovered the camp, from some material his father had. He left as soon as he could and stays as long as possible.

Other: Samuel loves getting into trouble. Well not the trouble part, but the adventure of it at least. He tries to get his sister involved, which often ends up with him fighting with her but it's all in the fun of it, right? Right?

Name: Mary Keller
Alias: Hellion II
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Height: 5ft 7
Lineage: Mary is the daughter of the first Hellion, Julian Keller and an unknown woman, and the twin sister of Hothead.

Powers: Mary has the ability of Telekinesis. This ability manifests with a golden aura and while not as powerful as her father's, she can do more accurate and similarly devastating things due to her thinking things through and waiting for the right moment.

Personality: Mary sees herself as the polar opposite of her father, but deep down she knows she has the same penchant for causing trouble as her sibling and father. No matter how she tries to avoid it, it seems to just follow her. Unlike her family, Mary likes to keep a level and logical mind about things, thinking everything through before acting. She believes that it is this which has given her a more accurate grasp of her abilities than her father has of his own as she sees him act only out of impulse using all of his power when half of it would have done the job. Mary is just as loyal as her brother to her family and friends, she sees it as her duty to keep everyone safe but knows that sometimes she can't save everyone and that one day someone she loves might not return.

History: Mary's recollection of her childhood is much brighter than her brother's as her father always seemed a little kinder towards her. Especially once her powers finally awoke. She had obtained a different version of her father's power and he relished it, he was so proud of her and began training her. It had been so much fun until her brother ruined it all by enrolling them both in a camp of sorts, but if it meant more training, she was happy to go. But maybe she'd beat up her brother on the way there.

Other: Mary's favourite subject is physics and she studies it as much as she can in her free time. She enjoys talking to people but will not seek out a conversation. She will reply when spoken to, she just tries to stay out of trouble and maybe, just maybe if she pays enough attention to her books and ignores her desire for adventure, she will manage it.

I'm still trying to figure out who to put in. I mean, I don't actually have any children of Marvel characters, but I'm trying to figure out who I can manipulate into being a kid of someone in the Marvel universe. I mean, I've played in Marvel series threads, but...yeah. So, I'm still interested but I still need to figure out who I'm putting in and how to work them in.

B T W, how many characters are we allowed to play?

Well you don't have to play a kid, like Bucky you can be a mentor. As for characters I'm going to say two at the most.

Well, I mean, I'm a huge fan of the X-Men series, but I just have this inability to make characters for that fandom that are related to canon characters. I'll have to use my 'phone a friend' option and see if a buddy has tips for linking characters to canon.

*Edit* I'll be honest with a dislike to play canon (and for the most part see canon's played - though it does look like you did a lot of Bucky research and are knowledgeable enough to do him justice.)

Name: Gary Bradley
Alias: He's still deciding. Probably going with the alias of 'Venom'.
Age: Seventeen. (17)
Gender: Male

Personality: Gary's attitude can and will swing at the slightest breeze, like a feather tied to the end of a thread. Catch him on a good day and he can be as calm and quiet as anyone. He's sarcastic, of course, as it was one of his many defenses growing up, but he mostly doesn't mean any harm by his words unless the person he's speaking to is someone he finds really annoying. He's very witty and curious, interested in other peoples lives, but at the same time he can be oddly calm. Sometimes it seems as if the world could be set a flame and he'd hardly bat an eye. When he's upset, he merely goes silent, which isn't all that odd considering he's usually quiet when he's not angry, turning his gaze and choosing to show little emotion that depicts his anger or sadness, perhaps except for a hardening of his jaw or a raise of an eyebrow. Then again, when he's angry, his calmness turns eerie, like he knows something you don't. His smirk or neutral frown will ether pull into a scowl or snarl and every movement of a muscles become like that of an animal stalking its prey. In fact, its like he himself changes, as if his movements are no longer his own. He is quite rebellious and aloof, along with a tad of wrecklessness that goes against his default intelligent, observational attitude, so he would be more then happy to sneak out or go for a late night training session. He has a lot of self-control, which is what he uses to combat his Symbiote's persuasion, although, at times....it could become loose, which is why he joined the camp.

Abilities:
◾Superhuman Strength
◾Superhuman Durability
◾Superhuman Stamina
◾Superhuman Speed, Agility, and Reflexes
◾Accelerated Healing Factor
◾Webbing Generation
◾Wall-Crawling
◾Offspring Detection
◾Genetic Memory
◾ESP (Spider-Sense)
◾Constituent Matter Generation
◾Camouflage Capabilities
◾Stretching and deforming
◾Poisonous Fangs

Appearance:

In costume:

History:
Gary was originally born in the urban state of Detroit, inside of a bare and poor orphanage filled with batty old women and bullies. He didn't know that he was bonded with Venom until he started feeling aggressive amongst the beatings of his caretakers, and whenever he got his candy stolen, or beaten out of him, by the bullies. One day, at the age of five, he sort of had a pissy fit and ended up breaking a ten-year-old bully's arm with his bare hands, which effectively gotten him thrown into timeout for a very, very long time. The orphanage calloused him, and he wanted out. But...he was an intelligent boy, and quickly realized his powers - and what the curse they pulled. He couldn't be a normal boy. He couldn't rough house with the teenagers, in fear of injuring - or killing them, and everything just sucked. That's when a flitting thought passed through his mind. 'Why not leave?' And so he did, leaving his 'home' at the age of 12, after enacting a bit of...revenge on his previous caretakers. His travel as a homeless mutant took him amongst many states, as he survived via mugging others, stealing money, and surviving amongst the darkened streets of the corrupted cities. This introduced him into the criminal underbelly...and he was effectively scarred. He went through a few years acting as a sort of 'vigilante', quickly taking on an alias as 'Venom' and enticing horror amongst innocent citizens and corrupted criminals alike. But...all he wanted was survival, and to give back to the community, for he was simply a monster...and monsters could help somehow, right? And that's when he was notified about the camp...
