*Earlier That Week*Thalia groaned, where in the world was she? Everything was backwards, everything felt strange....she was floating? Opening her eyes she breathed out deeply...not floating...not backwards. She was simply out of bed, her head touched the floor and she was upside-down.
Well that ruins the magic now doesn't it? She thought, her own light voice ringing in her head. She slid the rest of the way off the bed, hitting her back on the rough carpet that was never soft enough.
She walked the long path of shame, heading to her bathroom. There she turned the stainless steel knobs, water flowing into the bath. She plugged the drain with a stopper and poured some good smelling oils in as well. Humming to herself she waited for it to fill. When the tub eventually did she stripped and stepped in.
It had only been...five, maybe ten minutes? And she had gotten a phone call, ruining the peace. She growled and her searched for her cellular phone, she was sure she had left it near the tub. In the span of a second she found it on the toilet seat. She drowsily put in her pass-code and pressed the speaker button. She was not excited to talk to the girl on the other side of her phone; a friend of hers named Sara, that girl was always excited and helpful. Thalia wasn't in the mood for that.
"Hello, you've reached Thalia. What do you want?" Thalia stated, her tone was light but agitated.
"Are you at the airport? Because I heard you were heading to Paris!" Her voice dripped cheerfulness.
"No, my flight isn't for another hour. I wanted to enjoy my time at home." Thalia bit her lip, she was going to be late at this rate.
"Thalia! You should get going!" She urged, obviously nervous. It made Thalia sick.
"Sara! I'm fine, I won't be late." Thalia's toe fished around for the stopper. It found it's mark and lifted it, the water starting to drain from the tub.
"Well, I have to go, I really hope you make it on time. You deserve this vacation." And with that she ended the call.
Lifting herself up Thalia cursed, she was tired, hungry, upset, and tardy. How could the day get better? It couldn't and it wouldn't because that was how her life hit her in the face.
She grabbed her bags after getting herself ready makeup, perfumes, lotions, outfits, everything she would need for her vacation. She though that she had everything, but she wasn't sure, this made her nerves pile up; she tensed. It was going to be along day...a long week. And with that nervous feeling still in the pit of her stomach, she headed out the door. She walked over to her car and got in, starting it and driving over to the airport. She was excited for the journey, but at the same time she felt as though it wasn't going to be as fun as she hoped. Her trips always ended up like that.
*Present Day*Thalia sighed, she walked casually on the streets of Paris. Her flats made little noise on the sidewalk, she had no idea where she was. Just another random street she supposed, today she was going to visit the Eiffel Tower; she wished it was as gorgeous as she had been told. From her expensive hotel view she could see it in the distance, it looked nice and quiet. But she knew that it would be bustling with other annoying tourists like herself.
As she walked further and further she decided it was about time for her to hail a cab, and so she stopped advancing; taking a step into the street, standing still with her arm raised patiently. Soon a cab arrived, and she jumped in as soon as it stopped. "Um..." she mustered up all her French lessons. "Pouvez-vous me prendre à Champ de Mars? Ou Quai Branly s'il est plus facile?" She asked loudly, the cab driver nodded, starting the cab and heading towards their destination. Thalia sighed in relief and laid back against the leather seats.
They arrived soon enough, and she moved out of her seat. After paying the driver she pranced over to the Champ de Mars, he had dropped her off on the closet street to the monument, seeing as it was already too crowded to get in closer.
She walked cautiously, gripping her purse and studying the tower silently. It was..nice, flushed in some form of peace. She shrugged, it was so beautiful..truly worth it's praise. But she felt as though it would be better if she could go inside of it, maybe study the interior or something like that? She walked around to the entrance, it was crowded with couples and the likes, people in tuxes and people in their tourist garb. She stood in a sort of line that had formed, observing her surroundings thoughtfully until she made her way to the front. Everyone moved swiftly. She payed her thirteen euros and was escorted to the lift.
The lift made a whirring noise, something pounded on the metal cage above her. Thalia looked around. She was alone...this was bad. The lift stopped, and she wondered what was going on. She checked her watch, almost wanting to scream. She had gotten in just as the Tower was closing. How in the world had she slipped through like that? Who let her? She was alone in a closed lift and she had to stay there for an entire night. Soon though, the lift opened. She expected to see tourists, or other people there. It couldn't be empty already. But she saw nothing other then the metal of the tower, though beautiful it had a slightly eery effect right about now. She bit her cheek, and wandered into the sort of hallway that stretched before her.
Thalia saw no one, but she heard people, she heard footsteps and she knew that others were around her. "Hello?" She asked, her voice rung nicely through the area. She heard paced footsteps now, a grunt here and there.
What in the world? She asked herself, still walking forwards. She gripped her bag a bit more tightly. Maybe the only people here were French? But she had to get there attention. "Bonjour? Tout le monde ici?" She could still hear footsteps, and now she heard gruff voices too; they started to get louder, as if they were approaching. Whoever was here with her was coming towards her, she heaved a sigh of relief and waited. Then she decided to contact her saviors once more. Since they apparently spoke French she tried it again. "Ah, je vous remercie! Savez-vous quel est le problème avec l'ascenseur? Je pense que nous devrions appeler de l'aide."
Her saviors soon came around a corner, and she found that they weren't saviors at all. Three humanoid figures with messed up features; four eyes, spikes for arms..distinctly red skin. They were beasts, each had a human limb hanging from their mouths or the spikes they had for arms. It was fairly grotesque, the gore that accompanied them made it all the worse. She screeched, but she couldn't run away. The lift had closed, and was making its way down the Tower, and the only way to get away from them was to run past them. A wall of three cannibals?
I'm done for! She looked around, and pulled out her last line of defense, a simple can of pepper spray. She acted as if it were a serious weapon, standing firm as they approached. It wouldn't hold them off, they weren't afraid of it...but what else could she do? Cower in fear as they ripped her apart?
That actually sounds nice...really nice. She thought, mentally it was a great plan, but physically she didn't want to die like that. Her muscles tensed, prepared for action. She weighed her options..they looked stringy enough to barge through, their hands were partially occupied. Maybe they weren't good at running? That was all Thalia had on her side, she had no weight on her either, she had no skills in self defense. If they could get a hold of her she was their lunch, but if she could outlast them someone could save her. That made her feel terrible, sick to her stomach..she always needed saving, why couldn't she be an awesome hero?
Not the time! Go, just go and die if you must! And with that motivation, she charged them. Her arm was used as a guard, and her pepper spray was her weapon. She was going to die, but she was going to die in a blaze of mental glory.
I'm sorry if this was a bit too much, but I didn't have anything else to do and since you were already climbing the Tower I had to get in there somehow.
I may have took a little bit of liberty when it comes to the Aliens appearance, but I wasn't sure what to do there either. So yeah, I hope this post is acceptable and makes a little sense.
