If these were Sokka's character traits, or Toph's, or Aang's, would you have believed they could form friendships and be effective partners? You have not indicated at all that there is anything likeable about Eidos. Nothing. You used those six phrases (and "hot headed") to sum him up as a human being.

Your character is going to be defined in this RP by his interactions with others. How will he interact with Taru and the teachers? Because if he is belligerent and violent, I don't think the group is going to like him very much, and that's going to lead to you being ostracized (because no one except ScrubMage will want to write with you) and probably leaving the game.

EDIT: It's not a very good character. His nature is not justified. No one is going to trust him, no one is going to want to fight by his side, or save him from danger, or any of the things groups in group RPs generally do.

EDIT 2: The point is not that no character should be angry. It's that all the characters should be reasonably realistic within the setting. It isn't realistic that he would be chosen to teach the Avatar.

-sigh- SkrubLord, I'm sorry. It's just a type of character that I've had bad experiences with. It can be done well. I simply don't think Eidos is developed enough for it to be done well here.

In my experience, asshole characters are the MOST interesting. Without asshole characters, character development, at least in my experience, is rather boring. If you don't think SkrubLord will fit in, then look at Ostarion. They would probably "get along". There's some ties between Saeraeka and Eeidos that would cause them to agree with one another. Remember, the teachers probably aren't chosen for their attitude, or anything other than their skill.

EDIT: I think you're the only one who would not want to write with him.

Yeah, my phrasing there was bad. Eidos is not a good character because his only and defining character traits are "he's an asshole" and "he's an expert firebender who kills people, because he's also merciless and evil and shit" (and he's supposed to be on the side of peace and balance). I said it could be done well. This is not doing it well. Ostarion's character has a very good, well-developed reason to be how he is, and he isn't merciless, stupid ("senseless decision making") or needlessly violent. In fact, I really like the idea of an airbender who wants to prevent something like the Genocide from ever happening again by denouncing pacifism.

As for me being the only one, though, you might be right. I can't speak for them, I'm only speaking from my own experience. Maybe I am going overboard here. I don't think so, but maybe.

As for the teachers not being chosen for their attitude, if Jinora knew that he was an evil murderer, I don't think she'd trust the Avatar to his tutelage.

He doesn't kill just cuz he wants to, he kills to defend himself, but he enjoys to watch the people who attempt on his life die.

If you make him more interesting in the IC, I won't have a leg to stand on. But I am going to write up a sheet for an actual firebending teacher, once I'm done with Taru's.

It's an argument about shitty characters. Zuko is not a shitty character. Zuko is, in fact, one of the best developed characters in the history of the series, and when he was an asshole, he was a villain. He got over it.

Hmm. Well, we still don't know anything about the villains, but would something about them make a good name? "Raising an Avatar" is fine, but that could be another option.

:( I don't want to make a stink and get you forced out of the game or anything, SkrubLord. I just think you can do better, and can make the character more realistic, and less of a list of negative words.

EDIT: And, I'm disappointed that out of all the concepts for firebenders out there, this is what we got.
