As in, perhaps rather than starting with a huge fireball that hits multiple targets as a spell, think about how a more basic spell may have evolved into it and start with that one instead. Same with equipment, maybe you want to be able to wield a huge lance and tower shield, but since that'd be a bit hard to wield at low levels start with a standard size shield and lance combo with the large ones as a goal to reach. I know it's hard to understand what I mean, but once I get the skills system done it will make a lot more sense. I want you guys to be able to be creative, but I also have to exercise my judgement to make sure people don't start overpowered.

Silver, it all looks good, just don't expect the stats on your equipment or animal companions to be amazing yet.

We are working on integrating a Personal Skills tree, a sister skill path to the grand skill tree. This smaller line will contain skills only your character has access to. We feel this will allow players to add as much uniqueness to their character as they want in a balanced and smooth way. You can expect Zahir and Celeste (who is //accidentally?// named after one of our gods, Celestia) to have any special abilities they might possess to be listed in your characters Personal Skill Tree, which is perfectly fine, but you might end up sacrificing room on that tree for Zidar's personal abilities in favor for your //pets// skills.

Heh whoops! I just looked up some good sounding names with names. Celeste came up as heavenly so I thought hat be good for a Pegasus xD I can change it if you want.

No worries, they don't do too much.

Zahir currently really is only Zidar's eyes and doesn't have any other ability. And Celeste currently is mostly just a minor healer with a little bit of attack power (but not much). Later on, more attack base summons may be acquired and Zahir and Celeste could get better abilities.

No worries on sharing the tree, since Zidar's only abilities is summoning those two and defending. That's it. XD

The name isn't a problem, in fact it could possibly be a roleplay device. Other than that, if you're fine with the limitations I stated then you just need Merc's approval to be accepted. In the mean time, brush up on the Character Creation hider in the glossary post.

The Skill Trees will be a WIP as we play. The only things left to do are to make bases and scales for the various defensive stats seen in the spreadsheet, and come up with equipment values based on what you guys put in your CS's.

Nah man its totally fine, I saw it this way; If I throw out my overall idea for the character it'll give everyone an opportunity to see where I'm intending to go and give you two as GM to have an idea on what I'm trying to accomplish, I figured it would've needed to be tweaked down a bit for the start.

We're just about done, skills and spells take a bit and we'll still be adding some as we go along. We just want to have a decent amount of them to choose from so you guys can get closer to the character you want.

Individual spells will be more of our (Mercury and I) creation, in the form of individual skills on the skill trees. However I'm sure he would be just as open as I am to working with you guys to create more spells and abilities.

Every school of magic will have at least a small portion of most things magic can be used for. Damage, healing, utility, support, etc. But some magic will be more specialized in certain fields than others, or feature a balance in certain fields. So something like Fire which is famous for large and powerful blasts of damage can also be used to super-heat a metal cage for escape, or create a soothing campfire to rest at for yourself and allies, among other uses of course. Since every school is similar in that it can be used for many things, I can't really suggest a school for your character to specialize in.

Based on your character's personality and bio, it seems like INT would be an important parameter for him.
