Nora supposed that she hadn't really needed to catch one of the earliest trains from Guildford to London that morning. The wedding and reception didn't start until late afternoon and would last well into the evening. But she was already on such a short leash with her mother for missing the rehearsal dinner the previous night that she decided getting there earlier was probably for the best. She remembered that phone call from a few days ago, when she had told her mother she had to work and could come down with Nan in time for the dinner. Irma Clarke had nearly been shrieking at her youngest child, and she had said things like "Lenore you are chief bridesmaid" or "Lenore think of how much this will hurt your sister" (Irma always called Nora by her full first name, as well as the rest of her children). There had even been a few times when she had heard her mother exclaiming "Lenore Fay Clarke," which was when she knew she was really in trouble, when Evie saved her. Bless her soul.

Evie had assured both Nora and their mother that it was all fine. She completely understood that Nora was leading a school tour and couldn't get out of it. "All that matters to me is that you're here for the ceremony," her sister had told her. Nora could hear the smile on her face when she added. "Don't worry about Mum. I'll take care of her."

But even if Evie had managed to calm their mother Nora figured the best way to ensure she was really back on her good list was to arrive as early as possible on the day of the wedding. The wedding was hours away but Irma was probably already up and panicking about some detail she must have forgot even though she probably didn't. Her father, Alec, and her brother, Sully, were probably avoiding it as much as possible, leaving Evie there to deal with it all. Maybe Nora should have come down earlier. If only to help her big sister handle their high strung, perfectionist mother.

It hadn't been a long trip, but Nora was grateful to be up and walking when the train pulled into the station and came to a stop. She was pulling a small wheeled suitcase behind her and had a messenger bag slung over her shoulder. Her free hand was stuck in the pocket of her green jacket and she was holding the elegant invitation that read that Evelyn Grace Clarke was marrying Thomas Scott Lyons. This was it. The big day. She was nervous, not because she wasn't happy for Evie. She truly was. Evie was happier than ever before, Nora had seen it on her face when her sister had come out to visit over the past several months. And she had met Tom a few times but she could tell that he was a wonderful man who adored her sister. She was more nervous for the questions. This would be her first time home in months and now that both of her older siblings had families of their own and steady careers she knew people would be asking when she was going to have a wedding and what sort of job she had now. Or asking her if she still worked in that little museum in Guildford and lived with her grandmother. And Mum would undoubtedly have a group o nice young men for her to meet and dance with.

She was only twenty three and she knew it was perfectly normal for her not to have her life together. But it was hard when everyone else seemed to.

Nora had called Evie to tell her she was in the city, and could hear muffled noises in the background. Evie whispered for her her to head over to the church quickly before Irma had a panic attack and it made her laugh as she pocketed the phone. She was still smiling when she stopped at a coffee shop in the station and bought a latte and a pastry. She had eaten some cereal that morning but she couldn't resist the smell. She munched on one end of the croissant and sipped at the hot beverage when she stepped out onto the sidewalk. London was so different from Guildford. Busier, nosier, louder. But she had to admit a part of her missed this city. Nora moved along with the crowd, her eyes scanning the street as she looked for a cab to hail. All of the vehicles outside of the station seemed to have passengers, and she pursed her lips in annoyance as she moved further along, away from the busy train station.

The Doctor was a she. This was a first for him...her. That'd take a bit of getting used to. She had changed clothes and was staring down at the foreign body. The first few days in a new body were always a bit difficult and the Doctor wasn't sure how long it take him...her to get used to this body.

Long elegant fingers, very feminine. High pitched voice, and the hair was still short. She liked the hair, even if it wasn't ginger. It was dark and did this sweep over her forehead. The Doctor supposed that that was called bangs. She had never had bangs before. What was she suppose to do with those. The TARDIS was displeased with her at the moment. The change had caused some issues and alarms were going off. They were very loud. He sighed...She sighed.

"I'm the Doctor." She tested the words in the new mouth. It wasn't a very big mouth, and she found that she said Oye a lot. That made her a bit sad. Wilf had been nice about the whole thing, but The Doctor felt bad about Donna still. He...she had let her down. The lottery ticket didn't make up for it. "Stop beeping at me!" She yelled at the alarm system. "I need to park somewhere to fix you. Calm down." She slammed her hand on a button and the alarm changed. "Oye what now?" She sighed looking at the screen of shifting circles understandable only to her. "Oh...well that's odd. Suppose I should check that out. Alright, alright, we'll park. I'll take care of this weird blip. That shouldn't be showing up in 2014. Of course it'd be London. It's always London isn't it, or Cardiff. Apparently I talk a lot, and to myself. I need someone to travel with me again so I don't seem half as crazy."

The TARDIS complained as it landed in a small alley. The Doctor found herself complaining back. "Not funny. I'm not funny. I like being funny." She shook her head and pulled out from under a compartment a widget of some-sort that if asked to explain what it did she wouldn't be able to explain it. Well not in simple terms. Well alright really simple terms or not at all simple terms. Those were the only two options.

"I cannot believe that there is Hyiasam Readings in London right now. They don't even know what Hyiasam is yet! Ridiculous if some person has gotten their hands on an alien ship, again-" She didn't finish her sentence because she was now standing outside the TARDIS and the screen had a little red dot blinking quickly and moving away from her. The Doctor started running. "Always running!" She yelled almost bowling over some poor pedestrian as she turned the corner going too fast to keep from bumping into a light pole almost immediately after that. "And clumsy? Am I going to be clumsy?" She asked the universe out loud.

Nora had been minding her own business, barely paying attention to the other people moving all around her due to the fact that her mind was focused on the little black vehicles driving up and down the street. She tried hailing an empty cab but it rolled right past her. "Oh come one!" she exclaimed, staring at the back of it like it was some sort of prank. "You have your light on an everything!" It was infuriating and she suddenly remembered all of the reasons she didn't miss this city. Although she had to admit to herself that the list of reasons she did miss it was much longer than the list of reasons she didn't.

She had been so preoccupied with the cabs that she wasn't aware of the woman who was running pell-mell right after until she felt their shoulders collide. Nora was thrust forward, her hand slipping from the handle of her wheeled suitcase so it fall to the ground, and she almost fell right into the middle of the road. She caught herself on a street lamp though, and let out a pained breath. The area where the stranger had clipped her hurt like hell.

"Oi, watch yourself, Mate!" Nora said, annoyance in her tone as she turned to look at the guy who had nearly sent her falling into oncoming traffic. But it wasn't a guy. It was a woman. She was a bit pretty with dark hair that was styled in one of those very short haircuts that Nora thought was cute, but knew if she got one she'd miss her long locks a week later. She was carrying some sort of device with a little screen and Nora's eyebrows rose a bit before she looked back into the woman's face. It had barely registered to her that the woman had been talking to herself. "Where are you off to in such a rush?" she asked as she stooped down to pick up the fallen suitcase.

The Doctor was gathering herself back and looking at the screen very confused. "Where'd they go?" She heard the stranger yell at her for running into her, but she was too focused playing with a nob on the side of the machine. "Seriously." She hit it with her hand, percussive maintenance didn't appear to fix whatever was wrong with the machine.

"Where are you off to in such a rush?" The stranger asked her.

"Sorry about that, still getting used to the steering." The Doctor said once she realized that the pedestrian had spoken to her. "I was following a little red dot. It was flashing." She held up the screen, which no longer showed the moving red dot. The Doctor noticed as she looked Nora over for any sign of injury from their collision that the woman also had bangs, she had figured out how to make them look nice.

"Sorry again." She looked at the suitcase and around. "Visiting London. Nice place. I like it here." The scanner in The Doctor's hands started beeping angrily. The red dot was back. "Oh that's close..." She looked up to the sky. The beeping slowed down. "It's moving...what are they looking for." The Doctor was speaking more to herself, or maybe the machine and less to the traveler. "Oye, there's two dots now!" The Doctor started running back the way she had come from without a goodbye to the confused stranger.

Nora's brow furrowed slightly as she looked at the device in the woman's hands. it looked a bit like it had been cobbled together out of spare parts and she almost opened her mouth to ask what it was for but immediately thought better of it. The woman seemed a bit unhinged, to be honest. Talking about steering and red dots. All Nora wanted to do was get to the church and help Evie deal with their mother. That was the only unhinged woman she thought she had time to deal with that day.

The woman apologized for the second time and Nora sighed a bit. "No, it's fine. Really. Just be a bit more careful, yeah?" She heard the woman comment that Nora was visiting London and she looked down at the suitcase. "Oh, yeah. For a few days. It is nice." Nora smiled a little as she looked up at the buildings. She did really miss the city life, not matter what she told herself. "I was actually born here." Why was she telling the woman that? Maybe she had one of those honest faces. Before Nora could say anything else the little device started making a bit of a racket, which excited the woman. She babbled a bit before suddenly running off without so much as a "Good day." Nora blinked a bit, shaking her head in confusion as she turned to see the woman's quickly disappearing back. "Okay then. Bye."

She was still shaking her head slightly as she moved along the sidewalk, deciding she might have better luck with cabs farther away from the station and finally stopped when she was on an emptier piece of road. She was standing one a corner watching the main road, her back to the opening of a small alleyway. She didn't sense the large man dressed in the black hooded jacket until he was right behind her. He slipped an arm around her waist and pulled her against him, his grip firm. Nora's mouth had opened when she gasped and she was about to scream but he covered her mouth and nose with a white cloth and she inhaled something that smelled too sweet. Almost immediately her mind went hazy and her struggling became weaker. It probably took less than a minute for her body to go limp and the hands that had been tugging at the arm by her face fell to her sides. Nora's brown eyes went unfocused as her eyelids drooped and soon everything went black.

The street had been empty and the only sound came from someone's barking dog behind a door. No one had seen him. The large man picked up the unconscious girl as if she weighed nothing at all and carried her back into the alleyway he had been waiting in. He secured her carefully in the back of the plain car he was driving before getting in himself and pulling out onto the street. He got on the main road and merged into traffic. The only things left on the street corner were Nora's overturned rolling suitcase and the messenger bag that had fallen from her shoulder.

After running around the block a few times The Doctor, now irritated in the wild goose chase was about to give up. She started back toward the TARDIS. She was grumpily looking at the machine's blank screen now, when she tripped over a suitcase.

The Doctor shouted at it annoyed. "Oye! Why is there a stupid suitcase in the middle of the walkway anyway. Very rude if you ask me." The machine beeped sleepily at her. The Doctor glanced at it. "They were here..." She looked at the suitcase again trying to remember where she had seen it before. "The woman...visiting...but born here. That one." Oh no... The Doctor looks up and down the street trying to find where the woman went. She was gone, and her bags where here. Why would she do that? The reading was still beeping residual leavings of Hyiasam.

"Why her? She wasn't beeping before...Why is her stuff beeping now?" The Doctor turned and let the machine move from the woman's stuff a bit to see if maybe it wasn't her things. It kept beeping. She stepped toward the alley. The readings didn't go beyond her stuff, it stopped at the bags, but it was toward the door. She sighed, connecting dots she didn't want to connect. The Doctor picked up the bags and followed the weak reading into the alley. Then the readings ended again. "Fine I'll just go back to the TARDIS!" She yelled at the machine. "It's more useful than you." She is still dragging the bag behind her and has the other bag tossed over her shoulder.

At the TARDIS The Doctor hurries about trying to get some machine to cooperate. "Oye you've got to be kidding me. A woman has been kidnapped and all you're telling me is there is Hyiasam around. I get that. I keep getting readings for the dang stuff, but it won't stay still. Pinpoint the source. Find the source find the woman."

The only thing Nora experienced when she started to wake up was confusion. Her thoughts and senses were cloudy and she was only vaguely aware of what had happened or what was currently happening to her. She thought she might be being carried in someone's strong arms, but for all she knew she was dreaming. Her eyes half opened and she stared at the world upside down. At least a world composed of smudgy shapes that she couldn't make out in her current state. She could hear voices, but they sounded far away and she couldn't make out what they were saying. Nora made indiscernible sounds of her own as her head turned lazily, and she thought she felt someone lift her head.

She opened her eyes wider and gazed up with unfocused eyes at a face that was almost recognizable to her. But whatever the man had drugged her with was potent and she couldn't distinguish the person's features. She thought he was a man, though. At least she was pretty sure she thought that. The person whispered to her and Nora felt her eyes droop lazily again. Before she fell unconscious for the second time she was aware that she was being carried somewhere else, but Nora slipped away before she had much time to think about it.

The floor was cold. She could feel in through her jacket and jeans. Nora made a soft moaning sound as she finally started to come to, opening her eyes blearily to find herself lying on the floor or what looked like a small closet. She also had the worst headache imaginable. Her limbs felt heavy and clumsy as she pushed herself up into a sitting position and tried to get a better sense of her surroundings. There wasn't much light in the room. The electric lamp's bulb was nearly dead and there was a little bit of light coming from the crack under the door. Nora wondered where she was for an instant before the memories flooded back to her. The arm pulling her against someone, the hand holding the cloth over her face.

"Hey!" Nora immediately started yelling, crawling over to the door and starting to pound against it. "Hey, let me out of here!" Her voice was scratchy from not being used and it took a lot of effort to move her arms. But she didn't stop. Not until she heard something smash against the door which caused her to yelp and fall away from it.

A loud voice yelled at her to be quiet and she saw shadows on the other side of the door. Nora moved back over to it and pressed her ear against the metal door. She heard someone telling another person a lot of things that didn't make much sense to her, but she heard him saying something about "the two need to have compatible DNA" and they still had to get "the other one" and for someone else to "go to Mary's." The drag they had used still scrambled her mind but Nora worked to commit those phrases to memory. Then the voices and footsteps got farther away and soon Nora was left alone in a closet with only a dying lantern for company.

The Doctor slammed her hand against the consul. "Don't tell me you are too broken to find a kidnapped woman. She's been taken by aliens. Who knows what they'll do to her? I don't even know why they're here." The TARDIS didn't react to her yelling or hitting. "Look use her bag or something to find her. You can do that...right?"

A spark shoots from the consul. "It wasn't that bad." The Doctor sighs almost exhausted. "Look it may be my fault she was taken." She tries to reason with the TARDIS, to no apparent avail. "Fine." She turns to the bags of the woman. "Maybe she has a perfume I can use to track like the Hyiasam." The Doctor digs through the bags trying to find something that would help. Finally she finds a hair brush. "This will work." She pulls a few strands of hair and shoves it into a small hole on the machine that she was using to detect the Hyiasam. It beeps quietly a few times as it registers the new material.

"There!" She says when the small red dot appears, it isn't moving. "That makes life easier." She connects the machine to the TARDIS to provide the coordinates. The TARDIS complains loudly as it is forced to moving. "We're not going across time, just moving places." When the TARDIS stops The Doctor opens the doors, "Hello?" She's in a tiny dimly lit room. "This is where the machine said she was...right?" She glances over her shoulder at the read out. It does claim she's in the right spot.

Once the voices had faded away Nora had tried pounding on the door again and shouting for help. It was fruitless, she knew that. But it was better than sitting there doing nothing and crying. At least she was trying to do something that wasn't cowering in fear, although she was very afraid. But who wouldn't be after getting kidnapped? The drug was loosing its effect on her by the minute and she was pretty sure she would be able to stand steadily on her own soon. But for the moment Nora huddled against the door and pushed against it, fiddled with the knob, and tried everything she could think of the break it open.

If only she was stronger. She slammed her palm against the door furiously one last time and then rested her head against it. If they came back later and opened the door she might be able to try and fight her way out. But right now she still felt a bit lightheaded from the drug. She closed her eyes and pressed her forehead against the metal door. Surely someone had seen something? The spot on the street had been very empty but someone had to have noticed a girl had been taken. Someone had to be looking for her.

At first Nora thought she was just hearing things. But the wheezing, grinding sound only got louder and she felt the air rush around her, blowing her long hair everywhere. Nora turned from her position on the floor and saw something fading in and out of existence on the other side of the little room. She felt her mouth fall open as it materialized more and more, and then she was staring at what looked like a blue wooden phone booth that said POLICE over the door. She was afraid to move, to touch it in order to prove to herself that it was solid and real. But she was just building up her courage to do something when the doors opened.

Light hit her in the eye and it blinded her. Nora squeezed her eyes shut to protect them from the sudden brightness, and wasn't sure she'd ever open them again until she heard a semi-familiar voice say hello. She carefully opened her eyes, letting them adjust to the light for a moment before finding the source of the voice. It was the woman from the street, with the cropped hair and the beeping gadget. Nora's eyes widened as she looked up at her and she opened her mouth, though no words came out. She sat there with her back against the door, completely speechless for a long moment. "Hello," was all Nora could say in response. The woman could make an entrance, she had to admit. First nearly knocking her into the street and now this box thing. Nora wanted to say something clever, but she didn't seem able to find her wits. "You, uh, certainly know how to make an impression."

"Ah, there you are. It's a bit dim in here, and small. Why is it so small?" The Doctor took a good look around the dimly lit room. She looked at the door that the strange woman was backed into. "Oh, yes I nearly forgot I've got your bags. Found them on the street. Thought I should return them." She pointed her thumb over her shoulder to the inside of the TARDIS. The door was open just a crack so light spilled out into the room. The console was making angry noises, and sparks were flying from a set of wires.

"Are you okay?" The Doctor asks finally having taken a good look at Nora. Her hair, which had been done, was now tussled around ruining any sort of attempt she had had in the morning to make it more presentable. A small bruise had started to form on her cheek. And her clothes had spots of dirt in places that showed she had been laying on a dirty ground and then kneeled on that same ground.

The woman mentioned that she had her bags. Nora looked up in confusion, having momentarily forgotten she had had suitcases. "My bags?" Almost immediately after saying this she realized what the woman was talking about. And then she remembered what the bags were for, what she was in London for. Oh God, how long had she been out? How long had it been since the street corner? Was in late afternoon, was the wedding supposed to have happened by now? Was her family freaking out? Nora looked up to see the woman thumbing towards the magic box thing. She tried to look inside of it, at what was making the light, but the door was only cracked open and she couldn't see anything inside of it.

She looked back up at the woman when she asked if she was alright and Nora genuinely did not know. "Um, I think so?" she managed to say and she climbed to her feet, leaving back against the door as she did so. She gave the box another meaningful look before focusing on the woman again. "I think I'll be better when you get me out of here. Can you get me out of here?" Nora stepped away from the door and closer to the woman, her apparent rescuer. And the strange box that had just appeared out of no where. "How did you find me?" she asked her, trying to maintain a calm tone, "And who are you, anyway? I met you on the street before, but we didn't really get a chance to...what is that box thing?" That seemed to be the question she really wanted to ask and Nora kept looking over at it nervously. She also wanted to get the hell out of here before any of those people from outside came back.

"I'm The Doctor. I came because I found your luggage, I thought you didn't leave them on the street corner on purpose so I came to give them to you and make sure you were okay. If you need help, well I'm The Doctor I help people. Sorry again about the running into you on the street earlier I didn't mean to. The box is the TARDIS which stands for time and relative dimension in space." The Doctor spoke quickly catching the woman up on most of her questions.

"The other reason I looked for you is there were readings of Hyiasam near where your bags were and that's what I was running around looking for. Basically I was worried that the people I'm looking for that are giving off the Hyiasam readings kidnapped you and I don't know why they would do that, but that they are even on Earth is a big red flag for me to look into it. Mostly because Hyiasam isn't a local thing. It's not supposed to be on Earth and since it is that means there are aliens here and the aliens that give off Hyiasam readings aren't usually nice. They tend to do some terrible things. One time I had to deal with them on this ship and everyone was turned inside out." The Doctor was continuing to speak quickly not noticing Nora's response to her ramblings.

"We should go though. Get you out of here. Don't want you to get turned inside out, that wouldn't be fun for you." She stepped back and into the TARDIS opening the door to let Nora in.

The woman's words had been lost on Nora since the word "TARDIS." And before that she had already been gaping at the woman when she had introduced herself as the Doctor. What sort of name was that? It wasn't even a name. And she could only begin to guess what "Hyiasam" meant, though it sounded like it had something to do with the people who had kidnapped her. The woman, Doctor, had said that they weren't local, but also that they weren't supposed to be on Earth. "Not local...you don't mean like 'not English,' do you?" Nora asked, her voice a bit weak. But other than that she had just gazed at her with a vacant expression, and she felt like the woman was miles ahead of her while she struggled to keep up.

What she did understand was when the Doctor said that they should go, and that was something Nora heartily agreed with. She certainly didn't want to get turned inside out, if that was even possible. But when Nora turned to face the blue box she felt a bit anxious. She didn't didn't really know what the box, the TARDIS was, and even as the other woman disappeared through the door she hesitated. Then Nora glanced behind her and decided that whoever was out there had to be a lot worse than whatever she would find inside the box. So she hurried over to the door and went inside, spinning around and closing the door immediately after. Then Nora took a backwards step and turned around to get a good look around the tiny box. And she nearly collapsed.

For a moment she believed that she had stepped into another world. Nora fell back against the closed doors as her mouth parted in a surprised little "Oh!" and her wide eyes tried to take it all in. It was a vast chamber with a ceiling she could barely even see and rounded walls and stairs that led doorways that must have let to hallways, making this already enormous place even more enormous. But it couldn't be...it had been a box, a tiny box...no bigger than a phone booth. Nora almost forgot to breath as her eyes swept around the chamber once again before fixing upon what looked like a control panel in the center of it. The whole place seemed to glow and it gave off a feeling of warmth and energy that seemed to fill her completely. She finally fixed her round eyes on the woman who called herself the Doctor and Nora opened her mouth as though to say something. But all she could do for a moment was take a few shaky breaths until her voice finally came back to her. "It's...well it's..." Nora was a loss for words and she gazed incredulously at her before she was finally able to ask, "What exactly is it, again?"

The Doctor was grinning at Nora as she took in the surroundings, her smile dropped just a little when Nora asked 'What exactly is it, again?'.

"The TARDIS which stands for time and relative dimension in space." The Doctor responded. "Your bags are right there. What is your name by the way?" She pointed over to what looked like an old school bus seat strapped up to the railing that OSHA would probably have marked her down for. The suitcase was sitting open and Nora's hairbrush had fallen to the floor. "Easy explanation for the TARDIS though is calling it my space traveling time ship." She was pulling some levers and pushing some buttons and staring at a screen. "She's not pleased with me right now. It's like she thinks it is my fault she's broken." The Doctor stressed the word 'my' making it seem as if someone else had come into the ship and beat up the TARDIS to cause its malfunction.

"But on the bright side I've got the TARDIS into good enough working condition to do space travel. Time travel is out of commission for now though. Sorry. I can get you to wherever you were going, before you know aliens kidnapped you. Think of me as a taxi. No, don't that's a terrible idea. I'm not a taxi." The Doctor was shaking her head. Truth be told if Nora hadn't just stepped into a Police box that was bigger on the inside it would have been easy for her to believe the woman at the consul was unhinged, well even standing in the TARDIS Nora might still believe that actually.

"What I am wondering right now is why did they kidnap you? Have you time traveled before?" The Doctor had her hand on a screen and was punching in what could be assumed as numbers.

Nora looked over to where her suitcase and messenger bag were sitting then back over to the woman. "My name?" she said, her tone slightly distracted. "Oh it's um...Nora. Nora Clarke." She finally let herself leave her spot against the door and cross over to where her bags were. Her head swiveled around at the mentioned of a "space traveling time ship" and she fixed her gaze upon the Doctor, looking as though she wasn't quite sure if she had heard her correctly. "Sorry, but are you telling me that this is a space ship? And a time machine?"

She took another look around the interior of the deceptively tiny box the closed her eyes for a moment. She just had a ridiculous thought. At least it would have been ridiculous if she wasn't standing in a bigger on the inside police box. "So this...ship. It's alien, right? Like it's from outer space or another planet or something." She titled her head a little as she looked at the woman at the controls. "So...are you? An alien?" She was fairly certain she already knew the answer. But a part of her needed to hear it.

She mentioned that she could take her where she was originally supposed to go before she had kidnapped. Nora's eyebrows rose as she nodded. "Right. Um, thanks. Not just for the ride, but for coming to get me. That was, um...thanks." She took a seat by her bags and looked at the woman who liked to talk to herself, was probably an alien, and had a time machine. She was off her rocker. But as the minutes passed and Nora became more accustomed to all of this, she found that maybe "off her rocker" wasn't a terribly bad thing. "I Was on my way to St. Mary's. The church. For a wedding. Not mine," she suddenly felt the need to say. "It's my sister's."

The Doctor was wondering aloud, asking the wonderful question that was on her mind, as well. Why had she been kidnapped? She asked her if she had ever time traveled before and Nora's eyes narrowed a bit, as though amused by the question. "Do I look like I've ever time traveled before?" She thought back to when she had been crouched by the door with her ear pressed against it, listening to the people on the other side and leaned forward a bit. "I, um, don't know if this is helpful. But I heard them say something. The people who kidnapped me, or aliens rather. I never really saw any faces but I overheard a little of what they were saying. They said something about how they needed two people who had...compatible DNA. And the one who I think was in charge sent someone out to Mary's to get the other one. So they need someone else with DNA that's compatible to mine. But I don't know any Mary. Mary's..." She was quiet for a moment as she mulled it over in her head, then Nora stood in a flash, her eyes going wide. "How compatible would siblings' DNA be with each other?" she asked, moving over to the control panel as she stared at the Doctor. "Mary's could mean St. Mary's Church. And the other one could mean Evie. My sister. Doctor, are they going after my sister next?"

"Alien." The Doctor nodded pointing to herself. "Time machine" She then pointed to the consul in front of her. Once Nora told her that she had been heading toward Saint Mary's The Doctor set about fighting the TARDIS into heading that direction.

"I'll get you to the church." She told Nora, "It'll be a bit circuitous I'm afraid, navigation's a bit wonky right now." It was Nora's turn to talk to herself, but The Doctor listened to what she was saying.

"Siblings can vary. Some can have compatible DNA others not. That's why some can give bone marrow to each other and others can't. I'll get you there. We'll get to your sister before they can." Her voice was serious as she told Nora this, it was a reassuring seriousness. The Doctor sounded like this was something she could handle. Despite the aire of being unhinged, the woman seemed ready and able to take charge.

"I don't know what they could want with the pair of you, but it can't be good. I intend to stop them." The TARDIS lurched suddenly as if it had just been hit by a truck. "That was terrible." A loud screeching noise started emitting from the control panel. "That's worse. Good news, we're about a block from Saint Mary's bad news, the TARDIS isn't going anywhere for a while."

Nora gazed at the woman as she promised to help. To get to Evie and stop whoever was doing this. Despite the Doctor's earlier odd mannerisms, and the fact that she suspected the other woman was at least a little bit out of her mind, right now she was completely serious and seemed completely capable. Nora looked her up and down once before nodding, taking a bit of a leap of faith. She decided to trust this alien woman, this Doctor. Who else could stand a chance against these other aliens, after all?

When the TARDIS had lurched it had sent an unsuspecting Nora falling against a railing. She caught herself against it before toppling all the way to the floor, and winced through the pain she had received from the force of the lurch. "What's happening?" she called to the Doctor after hearing the other woman mentioned the word terrible, but was cut off by the ear splitting screech erupting from the control panel. Nora's face contorted as it pounded against her ears, and she could barely make out what the Doctor was saying. But she managed to piece the words together. A block away from St. Mary's, but the TARDIS wouldn't make it the rest of the way.

"We'll have to go on foot the rest of the way," Nora shouted, turning and heading for the doors. Once they were open and she was outside she felt herself pause as she looked around. They had moved. The Doctor said that they had but seeing it for herself was something of a shock. She looked back inside to where the control panel was throwing a fit and made a bit of a face. "Do you have a licence to fly this thing, or something?" She turned around, looking up and down the street as though finding her footing and then nodded in the right direction. "The church is that way. There's a hotel right across the road from it where the reception and dinner is going to be held. Mum and Evie should be in one of those places, come on." She started running down the sidewalk, barely glancing behind her to see if the Doctor was following.

The Doctor frowned slightly at Nora's question about if she had a license or not. She decided she'd rather not answer, so instead she locked the TARDIS behind them and followed Nora as she ran toward the church.

"I'll look in the church, you take the hotel." The Doctor would figure out who was getting married by looking for a woman in a white dress she thought before splitting off from Nora and dashing up the steps of the church. It was an old classic church. There were dozens of people setting up for the wedding. "Has anyone seen the bride?" She asked loudly, a few people just looked at her like she was crazy and refused to answer. One person though came up to The Doctor.

"May I ask who you are please?" The tall woman asked The Doctor.

"Yes you may." The Doctor smiled back. "I'm looking for the bride, Evie. She's got a sister named Nora."

"She's not here at the moment. Please leave. I'll let her know you were looking for her Mrs...?"

"Doctor."

"Doctor who?"

"Yes, thank you. I'll go to the hotel then see if she's there. It's very urgent." The Doctor bolted out of the Church and darted across the road, not seeing a black car pull in front of the church behind her.

Nora nodded when she and the Doctor split, the other woman heading towards the church while Nora ran through the revolving door of the nice little hotel her mother had booked for the reception. Under any other circumstances Nora would have looked up to appreciate the chic interior design but she was running toward the ballroom where the reception was to be held. She fell against the doorway, panting and receiving some disapproving looks from hotel employees and other guests. Nora barely noticed, though. Her eyes had fixed upon one woman. One woman in the ballroom giving directions to the people giving the tables and decorations last minute inspections.

"Mum!"

Irma Clarke turned, her blonde hair perfectly trimmed, and fixed a slightly annoyed gaze upon the person interrupting her. Her eyes widened when she saw her youngest child, looking rather ragged, leaning against the door frame. "Lenore!" she exclaimed, abandoning her helpers and striding over to Nora. "Lenore Fay, where on Earth have you been? Evelyn said you called two hours ago tell tell her you'd arrived in London. You are late and...God why are you so filthy?"

Nora shook her head. "Never mind that, Mum. Evie. Where's Evie?"

"Upstairs. In her room. No doubt preparing. Your sister is going to make the most beautiful bride." Irma was flushing with pride.

"What room?"

"What?"

"What room, Mother?"

Irma pursed her lips. "Fourth floor, room forty four. There's no reason to use that tone with me. Besides you need to be getting upstairs soon, too. With the other bridesmaids. Hopefully your hair can be salvaged." Mrs. Clarke looked at Nora's tousled brown locks with a hint of disapproval, but then her gaze wandered over to her perfectly set up ballroom and smiled. "Doesn't this place look lovely? And wait til you see the church...Lenore?" She turned and saw her daughter moving away, back towards the lobby. "Lenore where are you going?"

"Got to see Evie, Mum. I'll be right back!" Nora called to her, ignoring the protests. She nearly ran into the Doctor in the lobby, almost sending them both to the floor again. "Mum said Evie's up in a hotel room, I'm going to check on her," Nora said, once she had regained her balance. She spun around and made a beeline for the elevators, punching the up button when she got there. The elevator seemed to take an absurdly long time to descend into the lobby, and she was inside once the doors had slid open. Thankfully it had been empty, so no one got to be barreled over by Nora, who was close to having a panic attack. The trip to floor four took about two hundred years and once the doors were open and she was skidding to a halt in front of room forty four, she was barely breathing. She knocked, and it was a urgent sound. Nora was gazing at the door, like she was afraid to hope. It took longer than what she thought was necessary, but the door did open and a pretty woman with long blonde hair, wearing a simple red shirt and jeans, was standing there.

Evelyn Clarke took in the sight of her half crazed looking sister, but she didn't see the half crazed part. All she saw was her little sister. "Nora!" she said, smiling. "I was beginning to wor..."

"Evie!" Nora was suddenly embracing her sister, in hindsight glad that Evie hadn't been wearing her white dress just yet since Nora's own clothes had a layer of dirt on them. "Oh, thank God! You're alright!" Evie was incredibly confused, but her smile didn't slip and she hugged her sister right back.

The Doctor followed Nora into the elevator. There was a silence that only comes with the nervous waiting for if the news you're about to hear is good or bad. The Doctor was running through options. She could theoretically get the TARDIS working, but the time stream and she wouldn't be able to go back. So if Nora's sister had been taken there'd be no option but try and rescue her before her wedding.

That would be dealt with if it came to that. The other issue was how to get this group of aliens out of here. They were bad news. The Doctor had never actually fought them before. He...should she be saying he? Was always too late to stop them. She had always shown up in the aftermath. Planets destroyed. This was the first time she could fight them from the start. This time she'd save the planet. Earth was protected.

The Doctor looked back and forth between the sisters. Nora had dark hair, her sister was blonde. That was the main difference, but what about genetically. What if Nora had a genetic disposition for cancer, but her sister didn't have that trait. What if Evie had a genetic disposition toward depression, but Nora didn't. Their DNA would be similar, but they would also have variations. Those variations could be the difference between life and death...or blonde hair verses dark colored hair. That had to be what this was about!

"Nora! I think I understand. You're brunette and Evie isn't, she's blonde. You're genetically similar, compatible, but also far enough apart genetically that you could mix and match your DNA to get desirable traits! Did they take blood from you?" The Doctor was already checking Nora's arm, even though it was still around her sister, for any puncture wounds.
