Back story:
Not too much is known about Hatake's life except that he was taken in by a family in the Rukon much to the father's protests. His "father" would get drunk and beat his mother and then him for making them spend money on him even though most of the money goes towards the man's constant drinking. His father would try to beat his sister, but Hatake would take it for her so he was beaten half to death on a daily basis. One day it was worse than usual; he kept beating his mother even when she was begging while his blows kept coming and coming. It wasn't until her lifeless body dropped to the ground did he stop. Something snapped in Hatake's mind when he saw this; the sight of his mother's blood staining the floor and her permanent silence released a demon in him. His mind went completely blank until he came back to reality at the sight a wall covered in blood and body parts...his father's severed head was mounted on the wall by a pitch fork.

The young boy was scared and confused with what happened. His worries had an added load because his little sister was ailing of a serious unknown disease. He thought that if he could take her to the Seireitei that maybe they could cure her, after all they had the power to do this. The journey was merciless as they had to run away from bandits and stealing as much food as he could get for his sister. There was hope that maybe that maybe that they would arrive, but corrupted shinigami appeared and tried to loot them. Hatake tried to defend him and his sister from the marauders, but it was all in vain. They had stolen whatever belongings they had and his sister soon died from starvation.

Again, losing someone he loved caused him to enter a state of blind rage. Everything around him was completely obliterated everything around him like a wild animal until an unknown warrior with an eye patch and black spiky hair stopped him. He told him to stop crying like a brat and be a man before releasing a monstrous amount of reaitsu, which quieted down Hatake. After some questioning, the man realized that Hatake had no where to go and told him to come with him.

For many years he lived with this man and a pink haired little girl, learning the ways of the blade from him and even awakening his own zanpukto. He stole it from a shinigami he killed in one of the villages though it wasn't like anyone would miss him; the man was forcing himself onto a woman and he just beheaded him with his katana without any remorse. On his own, he was able to awaken his zanpukto and even his own shikai. When that happened, his father figure told him to go to the Seireitei and learn to be a shinigami as he had grown into a warrior.

And that is what he did. He entered the academy and shocked everyone with his already impressive skills. During his time there he also discovered he had discovered his love for music and became very good at playing instruments and singing. He soon graduated with flying colors and now is on his journey as a shinigami.

Immense Spiritual Energy:
Ever since he was a little boy, Hatake has always had a ludicrous amount of spiritual energy that would only come out when he was in a state of fury. Even though he has this tremendous amount of power, he cannot use that much of it, but when in a state of pure anger then it become obvious that his Reaitsu is much larger than it actually is. There was only one time it was released during his academy days and since then it has been said that his Immense Spiritual Pressure is comparable to the squad 11 captain of long ago, Kenpachi Zaraki. His Reaitsu has been known to cause severe destruction so because of this he tends to seclude himself when he trains while in this state.

He is a gifted musician and singer.

He also has an steel liver and an impossibly strong resistance towards alcohol. Challenging this guy to a drinking contest is complete suicide.

Shikai Skills:

1. Hatake covers his zanpukto with shadows that make the blade even sharper and fuses it with hot ashes. When the blade cuts his opponent, the hot ash burn the freshly cut wound, adding even more pain and makes it even more difficult to heal. It tends to leaves scars. (3 post cool down)

2. Shadows and hot ash are concentrated on the tip of his blade or on his hand in the form of a sphere and points it at whatever his target is before shooting it in the form of a beam. This beam is able to cut and burn his target. (4 post cool down)

If Hatake swings his blade or hand just as he shoots it, he will send an arc of shadows and hot ash at his target instead, which will focus more on cutting through whatever this attack hits. (both 4 post cool down)

3. Shadows gather around Hatake's zanpukto or his palm. He stabs the ground or slams his palm down on the ground so that shadow hands come out and try to either bind his opponents or punch them. This could be used in defense however if all the shadow hands gathered in front of him as a shield to block an incoming attack. (4 post cool down)

4. Hatake gathers shadows and ashes so that they form into a large, compact sphere. The sphere is then shot at his opponent and on contact the sphere explodes with a torrent of shadows that tears their intended target and ashes that cause severe burns. (4 post cool down)

5. Hatake has the ability to turn himself into shadows, temporarily becoming intangible as long he doesn't attack. He has to enter a solid form just as he attacks. In this form he can also enter a shadow and come out of another shadow as long they are in the same vicinity. This makes it great for getting through certain spaces and for surprise attacks. (Can be used for 5 posts though will require a 5 post cool down. If used for less time then the cool down is decreased. Ex: 3 posts equal 3 cool down posts.)
