Smother? Drown?

Bloody amateurs. Just make the Tigers do the work.

*Injects a bunch of spare cybernetically enhanced tigers with enough anabolic steroids to make an elephant buff and sets Gat to their targeting routines.*

At least this we can put on Pay per View.

Holy hell, so much feels in this thread, like wow I am both pleasantly surprised and a little dismayed. Dismayed for the fact that, well, I didn't read all the drama before it was edited because I was sleeping, working and just generally spending the holiday with my family who decided to show up (to my surprise).

Brovo, as far as these shenanigans go... *offers out fist for bumping* I'm already pretty relaxed and chilled about it now, I got to watch people nearly blow each other up and just be a pyromaniac for a bit today, so happy feels all around there. Ugh, and I'll be available more or less most of this night. Cuz, like, I'm at work where everyone is actually asleep so I gotta keep myself awake and entertained.... Right, so, where was that laptop cuz games. :D

Mercenary Lord, what exactly do you mean with your unique?

-As an Invic, Colm was born with the same ability of all his people: the drain. In simple terms, while there's magic in the area, a small portion of that magic is siphoned off for him. More and more frequently, however, Colm has been using this magic flow as a reservoir for his own magic.

-Each Invic manifests a different trait as they approach adulthood at age 30. In Colm's case, his physical senses magnify significantly when a magical source is nearby. Sight, smell, taste, touch, hearing, and balance.

Basically, unless there's magic around, Colm is as normal as the average human.

Because it looked like Racial version of Awakened Meditation but that last line makes it weird. By, there's magic around do you mean other mages or whenever they cast magic or ambient magic?

Glad that is resolved now, like some already said, props/kudos to those who acknowledged that it might not have been funny to some (especially at 7 in the morning after only 2 hours of sleep :p ). And let's get this show back on the road without any ill feelings whatsoever...

Nope, no ill feelings at all...

probably should have clarified, but it's less of a 'tap into' and more of a 'steal some of': other people won't have part of their magical prowess if he's around

Guess you could call him a mana-vampire. Except he isn't.

Let's say a super powerful mage can summon a meteor when he is at full strength; he can't when being around this drain, because some of his magical power is being sucked away for someone else to use

I'm also working under the assumption that some places don't have any ambient magic in the air, while some places have a great deal.

As I understand it magic is pretty much everywhere, though it would likely be heavier around the wells of power (there are 5 if I recall) and presumably there would be a few magical deadzones that were probably the sites of massive magic fuckups in the past.

I can always change it if it's a problem in the world. I just don't know a whole lot about the world, so I'm inferring a few things.

Well you'd need Brovo for absolute confirmation of course.

Not really a problem, just asking confirmation because individual that pretty much 'blank' magic/mana (and the use of it) by nullifying/absorbing magic/mana is a thing.

Well, there are areas of null magic due to anti-magic.

Magic -

The world is filled with magic that most mages draw upon to perform their magic, the source of which are the Wells of Power. Some people have more magic internally than others, as evidenced that some mages can overtap their potential and cause self-harm. There are some races in the past that were very potent in magic as a natural trait, in the past. Other sources of magic are perhaps the use of souls (such as with Mechanists and some dark sorts), or through the Gods (mostly past, given the gods are offcially sealed off from the mortal realm).

Anti-magic, from what I remember as seeing, comes in three forms... Magic form of anti-magic, which essentially protects against magic or lessens its effectiveness... Null-magic fields, such as a machine that effectively created a dead zone of magic by drawing it all in (evidenced in a mechanist creation in LoR1), and natural anti-magic... which was ultimately seen in special races or individuals that either became a natural dead-zone for magic or were capable of drawing it internally.

However, looking at your trait, I'm not sure how well it will go over. Magic in an area, regardless of their focus, refined or not, or what side its being used on? That could get very disruptive, because saying its all magic... Well, you have it everywhere in the air. And then you have a fair share of allied mages and people with magical items. The way I would see it, this would either need to be moved down to a more contained AoE, where it would probably be most effective in melee situations... or when you are the target of a magical spell, friendly or not.

Uhm, and that's what I got. You'll need Brovo for official confirmation/deny and the full lay down of information...

Well (assuming you're talking to me) it's probably irrational to assume that every single drop of magic in the entire world is fair game. I suppose I didn't consider having to specify an AoE because it just kind of made sense in my head that there was a limit of some kind. I'm thinking either 10 or 15 meters.

Might be better for me to just change it up. That might take a while, though.

Quick update on the Icarus is missing situation.

6:45 AM - Orion: Storm sent a nice sized (read: house sized) tree into the power lines, tore up the earth, and burst a water line.

He might be away for a while. Post as though he's on vacation. A prolonged vacation. Where he's on an abandoned island. Waiting for someone to see his S.O.S. on the beaches.

Anyway.

@Everyone: Post delayed due to still recovering from the breakdown I had earlier. Brain still isn't all there. Still, I got a post finished for The Library on Monday, so I can get a post for this RP in by Wednesday morning.

For those in TLB, yes, this means the IC post for that will probably get pushed back to Thursday. It gives time for Alphakoka to catch up anyway...

Welcome to my hometown folks, home to around 70'000 happy little peoples. Due to the recent natural manifestation of a medival king's wrath (AKA tropical storm Arthur for those of you who like to call things by their boring names) a whopping 50'000 of those residents are currently without power. I wish I were kidding when I say that people weren't already devolving into a feral society, but that's the world we live in. As a result of this outage, I'm without reliable internets for (by the power company's best estimate) who knows when? Leaving me with my trusty cellphone who has almost certainly earned a name by now, I'm leaning towards Cedric, to supply me with internets. Now while Cedric and I are a helluva team, writing a post is serious business, and Cedric is a bit of a pain in long winded messages...

Much like this one. Been working on this bad boy for a solid hour.

Brovo: Reading LoR 2's ic.
Brovo: Pass this along to the OOC if you could for me.
Brovo: After reading the ic I figured I should let everyone know through an all too classic trope.
Brovo: Tonight, someone dies!
Brovo: :D
Brovo: The blood gods shall be satiated!
Brovo: BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GODS, SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!
