Alright. To me my mecha has something like wings on its back, so I could learn more about my mecha as the roleplay progresses? (I promise it wouldn't be anything like flight.)

So for example, perhaps in training, my pilot or in other words Brandon found some controls that he didn't see before in the mecha and now he can do something new with it?

Name: Minamoto no Ai

Personality: Ai is a slacker: completely devoted to the concept of sleeping through school and doing the minimum possible amount of work, even if this means having to do more work in the long run due to occasionally failing tests by sleeping right the way through them. A question about her hobbies earns the reply of 'sleeping, maybe reading'. She's easy to get along with, due to being hard to work up and actually knowing enough to converse on a wide variety of topics.

There is one thing that can make her flip her lid entirely: never, ever hurt her friends or children in her presence. The result will be rather painful.

History: Hailing from a family that has clung closely to its samurai origins, Ai was trained from a young age to be a pilot--and a capable threat without a mecha, though obviously not* against a mecha. Though dutiful, she never really put her back into it, despite being plentifully gifted, and coasted through school beneath the radar. With her parents both being military officers, it's entirely unsurprising that she was sent off to this remote school to practice further--where she accidentally got rather a lot of attention when she thought a friend of hers had actually gotten hurt in a training battle: Ai went from a completely average student with a good Mechanical Frame to clearly being much better than she normally puts forth.
This annoys her. People expect so much now.

Mechanical Frame: "Benkei", a mecha that started life as a customised UEG MF-V1, but with every component having been swapped out at least once, it actually has nothing of the V1 in it. The cockpit and controls are all V3, along with ejection functions, and most of the frame and the power source are V4. The motors and armour, however, have been taken from the unfinished V5: her family's military connections come in handy. The weaponry itself is entirely custom.



Weaponry: Equipment:
† Superheated Blades: Sword, sword, spear; Benkei lacks for nothing when it comes to slicing through enemy mecha. With these as its primary armaments, they were made off a difficult-to-produce alloy to be able to endure higher temperatures, and thus cut through things better than their standard-issue counterparts.
† The Gun: It fires a spike on the end of a cable, that displays its true function as a grappling hook attached to a powerful winch once it actually penetrates its target. Whilst it can do a sizeable amount of damage by dint of being a metal spike, it's more intended to damage some non-essential (and thus more lightly armoured) body part, then either stop the mecha from escaping or drag it in so that the swords can be put to use.
† Advanced Armour: With armour yet to go into common production, Benkei has the defensive capabilities of a much heavier mecha, without the encumbering weight. Some of the speed gains were sacrificed for the sake of the more ornamental-looking plates--they actually make getting a direct hit harder, as well as absorbing some blows.
† Agility: Though it lacks anything in the way of boosters, its lack of extra weight invested into shielding, or much in the way of heavy armament, make the Benkei a fast and agile foe--perfect for a melee-focused Mechanical Frame. Also good when you don't have the second layer of defence that shielding grants...

@Penultimate_Pi: Okay, my main issue here is the use of a megaton explosive. Something that high-yield, on the level of a nuclear warhead, is absolutely not permitted on mecha. Not only due to the level of power in-game, but in-universe it would be far too easy to use it to do terrible things to civilians and it is therefore illegal.

Not that the Casvalans would be worried about that, at least with their current leader, but the players aren't Casvalan.

@Gareth: I think the bio is fine, but in terms of your suggestion that doesn't really work. The pilots would have to know their MF's controls before ever being sent out to train in them.

Since a megaton explosion, on the ground, is a fireball about two and a half kilometres across whilst wrecking buildings for about 5km in any direction and giving third-degree burns for those within 10km... I fully support not having that sort of explosive on a mecha.

Personality: Ren is not the type to be friendly with everyone. In fact he likes to keep to himself and do his own thing. If talked to he will talk to you but he will not go out of his way to speak with you. Some call him an asshole cause he speaks his mind when he does not agree with something but he is just giving his honest opinion. He does not do it to be mean he does it so you will always know how he feels. He don't like putting on a act to get people to like him he can care less, either you like him or you don't.

History: As a young child he as always been fascinated with Mechanical Frames. His father was in the United Earth Government army. He fought on the front line during the seven year battle. His father died, and he was taken off earth to a distant colony that was still in UEG control. The years after that day he worked hard to become familiar with the Mechanical Frames and what they can do. He Studied them all day and all night. It was the only thing he seemed to live for. His mother was happy but also fearful that one day her son will take her his father mantel and fall in battle as he did. But Ren was smart, he knew what he role was going to be in the UEG, support. He trained his eyes to and his mind to become one of the best sniper/counter snipers the UEG will have. He knows he has a long way to get there but hard work always pays off. When he got the opportunity to apply to Tsukino-Danvers Academy he took it and ran with it. His mother did not want to see him go but she knew that holding him back would only later cause resentment for her.

Mechanical Frame: Ghost

The Original design of this Mechanical Frame is the UEM-79(G) GM It was modified over the years to what it is now. It has never been in battle, but they are sure it will do well. The UEG needed away for their MF sniper to be able to quickly move to a new spot of spotted. By dumping the Huge energy supply casing,(Which was primarily used for ammo to fire the beam sniper). Once that was changed they wanted it be stealthy and not easily seen once it fired. So when they needed to change its entire armor design to be so it didn't give off a heat signature. The metal they used on it is very rare and very expensive but the UEG needed some kinda of advantage when it came to very long range combat. once the outer shell was complete someone had the bight idea to give it a cloaking device. Well this was great but the cloaking itself gave off a huge heat signature. Over the years as technology got better finally someone make the Thermal Cloaking device. As it is not as great as the Cloaking device, but it works great on MF. The reason being is because of the MF large size normal cloaking is good but the heat sink is bad trying to conceal the entire MF But making it blend in rather then make it invisible completely worked better. Equipment:

The Mass Driver (TMD): Uses Rail gun technology retro fitted into a sniper rifle.

Thermal Cloaking system: Built in Thermal Dampening so he does not give of a heat signature. The cloaking blends in with the environment but he must stay still to get its full effect. moving bubble how you can see it but if it still its virtually invisible.

Motion detectors: Just in case he does not see them on the camera. Its hard trying to watch everything at once so you need a back up.

Trip mines: It nice to have a surprise that goes BOOM!

Superheated Blade: Sometimes you just have to cut someone when shooting does not work.

Normal Armor plating: Can take a few hit but nothing to direct.

Plasma pistol: Sometimes you lose a Blade, so you pull out the pistol!

Well, um, before I get to anything else, the Casvalans have never been to Earth. Casval is pretty distant from Earth, and they took some colonies and have been attacking others but they haven't found a path they can take to Earth without just getting instantly exploded yet.

Appearance:

Personality: Ayuka is a very inventive girl, often trying to discover new ways to approach a situation. She is very serious as well, especially in fights, and always treats it as life or death. She takes education very seriously, and is diligent in all her classes, normal education or not. She knows how to have fun when just with her friends. When meeting new people she is very cordial and polite.

History: Ayuka's father, Masaki Tsumura was a foot-soldier for the AEG and so to was her mother, Amy O'Neil. So, she lived on base from the moment of her birth. Surrounded by soldiers, she at first had a fascination with infantry combat. Growing up, she always watched the soldiers fight and when she was 8 started attending self-defense courses on base, where she was taught to fight with her hands. Then, at age 10, her mother taught her to shoot and bought a gun for her, as they were stationed on a colony world her mother thought it necessary.

Later that year, however, her mother was trained to use MFs and was assigned to one such unit. Ayaka was amazed by the machines, how they could move, how they could fight, everything about them was incredible. Immediately, Ayaka was scrambling to learn how to use them, though her parents couldn't teach her. So, when she heard about these academies, she studied as hard as she could to pass the test to enter. As a result, she grew to love the engineering behind these machines as much as fighting in them.

Mechanical Frame: UEG X5 Frame, though heavily modified with parts from many different mechs. Designed to be swift without being weak, it is equipped with moderate grade shield and armor. Where it shines, however, is in its weapons systems. As it uses a very efficient power system, it is capable of running many different weapon systems, most of which aren't included but instead up to the pilot The Frame is equipped, by default, with a rifle that fire large slugs, making it almost a mechanized infantryman. Kinetic Carbine - Standard Issue, fires large metallic slugs using magnets, making it a railgun type weapon
Right Shoulder Missile Launcher - First mod installed by Ayuka, fires a barrage of missiles at opponents, they are self-guided HE missiles, making it a fire and forget system
Left Shoulder Laser Cannon - A Medium model usually installed on such things as the X2. The laser is capable of punching a hole in most standard issue light mech armor and weakening large plating
Mono-knife - A knife sheathed in a leg holster on the mech, it uses advanced technology so that the blade is sharpened on a molecular level, enabling it to cut through mech armor
Shield Generation - The X4s base shielding is determinedly average, and Ayuka's modifications have only slightly improved it
Armor - Mounting medium armor for the most efficient combination of protection and speed, the X4s plating can resist many light and some medium weapons
