Our commanding officer ladies and gentlemen.
“To them, our job is to shine up the shit and turn it into gold so majors can become colonels and mayors can become governors. What our real job is? It says it on our badge, we protect and we serve. We’re police and we march ever onwards” – Edward O’BanionName:Edward O’Banion

The only son of a pair of teachers, Eddie was blessed with almost dual educations. He’d receive regular schooling like everyone else but when he came home he received further studies with his parents, leaving him with a far above average intelligence. Straight out of high school, Eddie married his sweetheart Renee before leaving Boston to attend the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis. An injury to his hand forced Eddie to return home and soon he enrolled in college and earned a political science degree.
At the age of twenty three, he joined the Boston Police Department. Initially starting out on patrol, Eddie proved his skills time and again, building up a networks of friends and contacts within the criminal world that would serve him well in the future. After assisting a detective on a murder case, Eddie was moved up to the Homicide Division, where he remained for many years. He earned reputation as a “natural police” due to his instincts, tenacity and intelligence. During his time in homicide, Eddie also began to amass information on the corrupt dealings of his fellow officers. Originally he was going to report them but over time he came to realise that he could use the information when necessary to allow him to focus on cases.
Things changed though however when acting against the orders of the Deputy Commissioner, Eddie charged a politically connected fence to coerce his testimony in a homicide case. Though the case was successfully closed, the Deputy still had the rogue detective transferred to a district to work a desk as a punishment. Stuck in a dead end role, Eddie finally began to play the political game of the BPD and over the years ranked up to the Major of his district. When the Commissioner decreed the formation of the Major Crimes Unit, Eddie used some of his long hidden dirt to force the boss’s hand and make him the leader of the unit. Finally, Eddie could do some real police work.
