Last night was horrible. I had to be social with some people at a beach-barbeque. I had to consume massive amounts of alcohol in order to preserve my sanity. I'm never doing that shit again, but I was forced to do it this time because it was someone's birthday party. I used all of my life-batteries to fake my shallowness; talk about random things and the world cup as if I actually gave a flying fuck.

That's absolutely terrible. D: I dunno why, but from where I usually am (in my room doing nothing) I usually loathe social interaction and crave it, simultaneously. It's kind of awful... but it's usually just with really close friends. I'm an introvert and usually only am myself with people I'm very close to. Anyways, that sounds a lot like how Olivia would feel in that situation, lol.

Well, we have an oddly good cast of 20+ year olds to play 15-18 year olds. Maybe this should have been a supernatural teen drama lololol. I know Colton Haynes is in Teen Wolf, which is pretty much the epitome of that genre.

If you like character sub-plots, I hope you like my post. It's been hell getting together. I scraped my original idea for Roy to go around molesting people with mischief and instead having him have a nice moment in the rain on rooftops, just reminiscing over some family memories. I hope it'll give some insight to his character because I think it's helped me get Roy's personality down and how he thinks. Hopefully, it helps me draw some clear paths of how he'll develop in duh future. :o

It sort of is a supernatural teen drama, in a sense. Not that I enjoy those kind of shows, but I cannot deny the resemblance.

I'm positive that I will. Character development is crucial, especially for your own sake. If you don't care to develop your character in a meaningful way, you are going to get bored and either fall behind or quit. This is always my main focus when I join someone else's roleplay; the story that the GM presents is just something to guide me, to set a general goal, but if I don't have my own goals or sub-plots, I always tend to leave the roleplay in a nice and befitting manner. It's often because of difference of opinion between me and the GM, or rather, 'vision' or how something would be/exist. For example, I could bitch about how Ozerath determined that Cid Dysley is not a Guardian, but I won't because this is a collaborative writing effort, and I like it when I'm surprised and get to 'discover' things in my 'own' creation.

People are just going to wonder about why they changed actors in the first couple episodes. There will be rumors about a falling out between Cillian Murphy and the producers, or about how he was impossible to work with do to his growing alcohol problem. Fans will be divided with most only remembering Sean Maher's reign on the character, all the best moments, especially in Season 2, with the whole Charybdis arc. But a few diehards will maintain that Cillian was always the better Remi, before the writers completely destroyed his characterization and flanderized the hell out of him.

And then someone, someone will write a Remi X Remi fanfic, and the recursive self-indulgence will achieve critical mass.

On a tangentially related note, Insatiable and I are going to try to collaborate on a post in the next few days, so, you know, look forwards to that.

I've been thinking about opening up the board for you guys to include custom music/soundtrack for your posts. I feel like you guys are a creative bunch, and music is an important part of expression—I don't want to limit creative expression. Also, I'd like to experiment a little more myself, perhaps use some scores from the Advent Children soundtrack, and some other neat stuff. Finally, while the roleplay is certainly a homage to Final Fantasy, I don't want it to be associated with any particular Final Fantasy installment. It would also be cool to hear which selections you associate with different characters and so on.

If you use music, keep the links like so: *. Listening is, of course, optional. But, I will always listen to whatever you guys post, even if nobody else does.

Having done everyone's banner I have permanent characterizations in my unofficial head canon, so Cillian will always be Remi for me.

Oh this is a good idea! Glad you have considered it. Sorry to hear about your forced socialization though, I actually look forward to those rare moments myself. You know my work schedule somewhat so it's very rare and seldom that I get to enjoy them.

On a separate note I'm feeling particularly motivated to write so I might post again for Magdalena just because and give some insight to another aspect of her past.

I do too, but I have this one hypothetical scene I see in my head every time I think of Remi, and while I think both actors could play the scene quite well they would both color it differently and Sean Maher would just fit my vision of it a little better, I think.

But I don't care that much either way, when you think of Remi you think of Cillian Murphy all you want. I certainly think of him all I want...which is surprisingly often.

Once again, I'd like to try to get in some joint posting with people whose characters Emily hasn't interacted with yet - poke me in PM or on the Etherpad if you're interested. I'll be on this evening and tomorrow.

Part of my next post will be on the boat. I was thinking of having a bit of levity after all of the drama. Specifically, a cooking/dining scene where Remi conscripts one or more of other cast members and tries to turn their paltry supplies into something hearty and heartening, as well as showing off one of Remi's numerous (they are not at all numerous) hidden (because nobody cares) talents (they are amateur affinities at best).

Instatiable's already on board with that, but I don't see any reason Emily cannot be as well. In fact, I would like it if she was. I think I'll put that part of my post in the common Outpad for everyone to see and participate in if they wish.
