Work_U_Dumb: Accepted.

Stitches: Both characters accepted. Your request for the head of the Foxglove House Head shall be granted.

Memories of Conquest: Love the app. Accepted!

betelgeuse: Class subject matter often overlap. DatDA is a required, broad subject while Ghoul Studies is a specific, elective class. I think both are fine and you can teach both if you'd like.

In reference to Quodpot: It seems like more work than necessary and some people might want their characters to be Quidditch players. Id like to see how the others feel about this.

Character Name: Kari Cartwrite
Age: 27
Gender: Female

Appearance:

Personality: Kari is a genuinely sweet person. She loves to assist students in whatever ways she can, either with their studies or if they just need someone to talk to. She upholds an open door policy to all students whither they be from her house or not. If not in her classroom the teacher can usually be found in the library, as she enjoy's the company of good stories. Kari exudes a sweet and soft aura, but that doesn't mean that she can be walked on. When she is challenged by students, she's quick to put her foot down, and isn't afraid to give out detentions. She has a slight southern belle accent that becomes heavy if she's angered or upset.

Bio: Born to Muggle parents in the state of Georgia, Kari grew up feeling...different than the other kids her age. When she received her invitation to Salem Academy she had been a bit overwhelmed...but through the years she found herself more and more feeling like she belonged in this magical world. By 3rd year she was shown to have a particular talent for potion making, and preferred to brew a liquid than use her wand in most cases. By 7th year she had already decided she wanted to become a professor at the school, as the current Potions teacher had failing health, and while the old man was stubborn and considered by some cruel, he'd always had a soft spot for the young brunette. The old man stepped down after Kari gradutated and with permission from the headmaster she began to teach the course. It was strange the first few years as some students still knew her as one them. After a few years of teaching she was offered head of Wisteria and as a former student of it, she was happy to accept.

Skills:
Strengths: Potions, History of Magic, Herbology
Weaknesses: Charms, Divination, Flying
Classes: Potions, for 5th years they have the option of one class which is taught in the mid morning, (after one class, but before another) or a class taught directly after lunch.

((if i can't have the head of Wisteria I'll edit my post))

Seranity: Sorry about missing the Potions class. I'm adding it now. In regard to your character, accepted and position granted.

I will also be updating the OP with accepted characters and positions.

Quick question... and probably a stupid one... but what's the point of playing the head of a house?

Probably to provide more arrpee opportunities with the students of that house.

I'll finish the sheet in a bit, hopefully. Glad to hear I was accepted even without a bio.

Head of House is someone who's like the guidance counselor, career adviser, field trip monitor and hand-of-punishment for the students of their house. Also, the Head of House can move up to Deputy Headmaster/mistress and then on to Headmaster/mistress.

Character Name: Barnabas Maximilian Alman; Professor Alman to students, Barney to fellow staff and often called The Bulldozer playfully behind his back

Age: 69

Gender: Male

Appearance: Standing at just 4'11" with a wild ring of curly black hair atop his head, Professor Alman isn't an intimidating man to see. He usually wears a muggle business clothes beneath a subtle black or gray set of wizarding robes. He'll often wear a wizard hat for feasts and special events, but is far from shy about displaying his bald head.

Personality: Blunt, sarcastic and often cool under great amounts of stress. He's not a man that shows any form of anxiety and is commonly mistaken for being in a bad mood when he's actually quite complacent. Most witches and wizards learn over the years that Barnabas's nonchalant and gruff demeanor is just a thick layer over a genuinely understanding old man that had more paternal instinct than he'd like to admit. While an Auror, Barney gained the nickname of 'The Bulldozer', partly due to his muggle born heritage and his terrifying demeanor when rarely angered.

Bio:
-Born to a pair of muggles who were part of the American Navy following the end of World War II. Young Barnabas spent the years moving from base to base throughout the world before finally returning to New York City for a brief period of time.
-Weird events had been taking place around Barney for years, which Alma and Luke often brushed aside as strange circumstances in different parts of the world with their inconsistent schedule. He eventually received his letter to Salem and spent years excelling in a world that he had never known about before.
-After school, Barney worked for the Department of Magical Law Enforcement as an Auror through the 1970's. Gaining ranks and awards over time, he progressed to the director of departments and even spent a stretch of time defending New Orleans from a brief bout of Inferi attacks from an ancient curse.
-Wounded in the field of duty by a dark witch that he never caught, Barney's leg led to several years of the quiet life behind a desk as the Head of the entire department before his ultimate retirement. After a short hiatus. Barney decided that, having never had any children and a widower, the retired life did not agree with him and he took up a position at Salem, intending to work until the day he dies.
-Awards: Order of Merlin, First Class, and Grand Sorcerer to the city of New Orleans; former Lieutenant Mugwump of the Eastern Coast Confederation of Wizards, former Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement for three years before being urged into retirement.

Skills:
-Strengths: Deep well of knowledge in all forms of combating Dark Magic from his years of experience. Even for his size, his spells pack a punch, although he doesn't cast as much magic as one might think. He has a strong intuition and usually goes off of his basic gut instincts. Quick thinking on his feet and creative with his outlook on problems, it's easy to see why he made it to the position of Deputy Headmaster.
-Weaknesses: Virtually unable to cook or brew potions, possibly due to his stubby fingers and their lack of dexterity. He can't run or do much more than hobble with his cane and can't use his leg without it. Physically weak and he was diagnosed with a weak heart, attributed to years of being hit with hexes and not seeking the proper medical attention.

Class: Defense Against the Dark Arts, Head of Gladium and Deputy Headmaster
-Barnabas has O.W.L. level courses on Monday mornings and Friday evenings before dinner. He likes to open and close the week with a great deal of work for his students. When they pass through the doorway into his classroom, no student is physically safe from being thrown head first into defending themselves for their life.

I'm also working on a (male) student and (male) Gamekeeper!

Is there any way we can take the 'Purebloods only' part out of Viserious? I like the ambition, cleverness, cunning, resourcefulness but it doesn't really need to be tagged as evil, does it? JK Rowling even said that after Voldemort died, Slytherins were no longer as inherently evil and the curse or stigma was broken.

What I guess we could have his the highest population of pure bloods there so maybe the whole house isn't defined as having a dislike of half-bloods/muggles but a large majority of them are? I was also planning to make a Viserious character but she would be a total bitch and possibly a bit of a villain until the actual villain is revealed?

Removing the pure blood idea is fine. I dont see a problem there at all. It was just tossed in from copy/paste. Also, betelgeuse, I love the character. Character and positions approved. Though, I warn you about making toooo many characters. You might bog yourself down. Also, I would request that you hold off on making a second adult character until we get some more applications (letting everyone get a chance to get the positions they desire).

Lastly, Potato, I have no problem with you making somewhat of an evil character. I indeed have a villain planned, but personal sub-plots are okay as long as they aren't toooo big.

Haha, there really wont be a 'wait' but having a devious character will definitely throw in a new dynamic which might be fun. :)

So, what you're telling us that this evil villain is in the midst of the students and/or teachers? Interesting, interesting indeed.
