I'm introducing religion! Yay!
Christovampiric Genesis
This belief is closely intertwined with Christianity. Vampires of this following believe in an almighty being that created the universe, although according to them, his true name is not Yahweh, but Baal, and the Bible got it all wrong. However, the main breach exists in the story of Jesus. Although vampires agree that he is the son of God (Baal), they believe that Jesus was the first vampire. His powers and miracles were the power of pure Vampire Blood, untainted by a human form.
According to Christovampiric Genesis, Jesus was the Lord's second coming to this world, and he came offering the chance of divine blood. However, the humans were unworthy, and they hung him from a crucifix, torturing him in broad daylight. However, after his death, Jesus returned to this world to grant divine blood to those he believed were worthy. However, those who accepted his blood, also shared a deal of his pain, which would separate them from immortality. They would be burned by Crucifixes, from which Jesus had hung, and in which his blood had soaked. They would be killed by a stake to the heart, the spear that was jabbed into Jesus' side. They would die from a shot to the head, the Laurel Crown Jesus wore, and the water that had been blessed in the name of Yahweh would burn them. These were the penalties that Jesus had placed on the vampires for failing to accept him and their divine heritage.
After this momentous event, Yahweh the demon devoured the world. Christianity arose, and spoke the name of Jesus in glory, all the while celebrating the very artifact that had been used to kill him, glorifying the brutal torture they had subjected the Lord's son to. They spread their belief like a swarm of flies, and Yahweh took the place of Baal in their holy book, the Bible. Vampires were forced into the darkness, hiding from human eyes, hunted like animals for the divine blood they carried. However, in time, their power grew, and more joined their ranks.
Now, like all religions, their are multiple ideas within this belief. I've listed the main ones below, for your convenience.
Old-Bloods.
This faction believes that Jesus came to destroy the advance of civilisation. They believe that to grow more civilised is to leave behind the source of life, and to become something less. You leave behind love, hate, and effectively the fire that keeps one human. Or, in this case, vampire. These vampires tend to hate humans with a passion, and are some of the oldest. Darren is a part of this group. Their powers are often more animalistic, and they live like wild beasts, hunting for food. This, to them, is how life was meant to be.
New Bloods.
This faction, while small, is popular with the more peaceful vampires. They believe Jesus wished to connect the heavens with Earth, and that he spoke to the humans as such. According to them, Jesus forgave the humans on his deathbed, and wished for the vampires to be the bridge between humans and heaven. The followers of this belief are often in strife with Old Bloods, although they agree to a simpler life-style than humans, like most vampires do.
