An important matter requires my attention, so this notification is all I can offer for now. Since I cannot post today, it could be wise to leave the shopkeeper slot open for the time being. If no one takes the position, notify me, and I'll happily fill it. Tomorrow I'll make a post continuing Joel's actions, and introduce a new character if necessary. I appreciate your patience while I am tackling other issues.

Thank you.

That'd be great! Give us your CS and we'll go from there. (:

If I can give an opinion, one reason for inactivity may be because at the moment, there is really no guiding force to push us forward other than whatever personal goals we have set for our characters, some of which are difficult to justify jumping into social situations with others. All the characters are fresh *I assume anyway* so even the players are unsure of their own creations at the moment, which is usually what happens in the beginning of RPs.That's my thought on the matter at least. You could try giving everyone a reason to gather, or something to push forward. In a lot of Harvest Moon games, the Mayor took the new guy around the town on a tour to meet everyone. That could help stimulate some interaction with everyone.

Kira's inactivity was not due to "lack of guiding force". It was due to her own lack of self competence to engage with anyone, and also not having the interest to TRY to interact past one post. She has several roleplays that she is in, and seems to have more interest in them.

I understand that the first few days in a role play are hard. You're getting used to not only the story and your characters, but the people that are behind the characters as well. There are MULTIPLE forces/events that are going to be occurring in this roleplay, but we wanted to give the people some time to be flexible and get a feel for themselves rather than just shoving event after event down their throat. We didn't think it was too hard to ask for people to play nice for a little bit as we cleaned up the ties and figured out what was going on- before we started up things.

Thats just my two cents though.

No problem Sanbe!
Thanks for the heads up- and don't worry about it.

We'll let you know what happens as soon as we know ourselves.

I wasn't referring to Kira, but rather the comment of "Let's make sure to not make it a habit, hmm?" which comes off as a little harsh considering we just started.

It's not. But things will be slow to start because of it.

I understand the frustration of slow starts, especially when someone drops immediately. But at the moment, I don't think there's any real need to worry or call others out about it. :)

At least, not yet anyway.

I can't really speak for Raddum- but I know he didn't mean it as such. He probably just wanted to really say, "I hope no one else decides to drop out" cause we've been wanting to do this roleplay for ages now. :/ We're just kids in the car outside the amusement park really excited; while mom takes the extra 10 minutes in the car checking her hair.

I'm personally sorry if it seemed that way. We just don't want to put all this effort in to be kicked to the curb.

Understandable. This is sorta why I try to make characters I can just kinda sandwich against others, to help avoid it.

As I've said before, I'm not one to quit on an RP unless it's very truly dead *I'm usually the last to post in most of them in fact* so I will stick with you guys.
And if anyone ever needs ANY kind of interaction or is hurting for inspiration, Alex's clinic is alwaaaaays open and I welcome the fun.

Pretty much this.

I've been a member of RPGuild for a bit over 2 years, and I've dealt with loss after loss of roleplays since I started. Over time it has become very frustrating to try and make something, only for those attending to skip out or just not make posts. I truly didn't mean anything harmful by the comment I made, it was pretty much like Cap'n said above. My comments can tend to send the wrong message, which is my fault, and I apologize for it as I could really word them better sometimes. I didn't mean for it to appear harsh, I was just hoping for nothing of the like to happen again.

Me and Cap'n agreed to keep this alive for the long-haul, and I need people to help me with that. I'm thankful for those who are here, and plan to stay. But having someone who isn't reaching out and making an effort for a follow-up post is not helping me. Judging by her posts instead going into signing up for two other RP's and attempting to get her own rolling without anything being sent to the OOC or IC of this one, I take it as inactivity. I messaged her a day before making the announcement I did today, and still nothing came up in the thread. So me and Cap'n came to the decision to reopen the positions, which have quickly been filled. (At least the Innkeeper has for sure. Though I am interested in seeing what Sanbe has in mind for the store owner...)

Forum RPs, the easiest thing to die since hamsters became pets.

Well, if need be I can double up as well if you find another position that needs to be filled or simply more villagers to help things flow. Posting now by the by.

Well, ask and you shall recieve.

Name: Pearl Phalen

Gender: Male

Age: 31

Appearance: Pearl/ Flizzo

Birthday: Fall 9

Role: General Store Owner

Personality: Compliant, Cautious, Dependable, Mild, Honest, and Reserved.

Likes: Tinkering, Performances, Collecting, Organization, Fine Clothing, and Satisfied Customers.

Dislikes: Competitive Games, Change, Physical Contact, Urgency, and Alcohol.

History: A native of Mineral town, Pearl was born later in his parents’ lives; consequently, they named him in reference to the proverb “pearl from an old oyster.” Pearl was encouraged to play around and explore his father’s General store as a child. Being around (sometimes playing with) the store’s inventory taught Pearl how to identify, handle, and appreciate resources. Additionally, watching his father conduct business during his impressionable years also influenced Pearl’s business acumen. After a long day’s work, Pearl’s father would spend his evenings watching television with his son. Together, the two would watch exuberant musicians perform, and enjoyed emulating the artists’ quirks.

As Pearl grew older, he would spend his spare time using spare clothing to create costumes and attempting to play an old ukulele. He dreamed of becoming a musical star like the fabulous folks he saw on television. Unfortunately, Pearl’s father passes away on the boy’s 16th birthday, and the young man willingly took the responsibility of running the shop in his father’s place as well as care for his mother. Enlisting the help and guidance of fellow townsfolk, Pearl quickly became a capable shopkeeper.

Dismissing his fantasy of becoming a musician, Pearl began to live a predictable and modest life with little recreation. However, when his store would close down for the night, the sounds of a strumming instrument could be heard. During a Fall music festival one year, Pearl unveiled a new persona to the town: The Fabulous Flizzo Saucer. Putting his practice and passion to work, Pearl tickled his audience as Flizzo. Now, when Mineral Town holds a celebration, or when the General Store is close, Flizzo Saucer may be occasionally found about town.

*Yawn* Well I've just woke up, Let's do this...

Name: Leon Ann Scone

Gender: Male

Age: 20

Appearance: Woop And When he doesn't have anything that day

Birthday: Fall 13

Role: Inn Keeper

Personality: Leon has the problem that his neutral expression looks like he's tiny bit grumpy. Which usually only cause a problem on the first or second meeting. But it does make it a problem if he is grumpy. Because there's not much difference between the faces. Leon is rather renown for not being on time, or even bothering. Ever since he was given the whole Inn (Maybe way too young, Leon thought) He has had to get out of bed and do things. Which is a bit of a inconvenience. Seeing as he has to go around the whole town collecting supplies, which to him is better then what he could be doing. Standing around waiting for visitors Leon feels takes way too long. But going around town everyday does mean that everyone knows him. And hopefully likes him. He is friendly, able to talk to people and not explode. Which Leon thinks is a good trait. Though that has been a few instances of him forgetting to pay the people money. Well, no one knows if he means it or if he's just really forgetful. Though he probably wouldn't pay the people money just because he's too lazy to hand them the money. Probably...

Likes: Sleep, Snow, Beds...particularly being in one, Taking gentle walks by himself, Singing when no one is around, Milk, Quick meals, Cats, Oranges, and Fish

Dislikes: Hot summer days, Insects, Potatoes, Spiders, Hyper-Active people and Waking up early

History: The scones (Who no one can even think about making a joke or Leon will tackle them to the ground) are respected people. It is known that all of them are kind. If you ever needed some place to talk, or sleep...Or for some reason hide. They were there for you. They are known as wise and helping. While Leon could technically be counted for those two if you really wanted to. He was more often or not sleeping. Or finding a place to nap somewhere in town. Of course the family was getting tired of this, so his mother granted him the whole inn. The whole damn thing. Now, While Leon didn't like how sudden this was and also the fact that he was only 19 at the time. He did have a great sense of respect for the Inn and his family. So he was now in charge. Which was a bit of rest for his mother, who was starting to get old. Of course he had set himself the job that meant most of the time he wasn't even in the inn. But he trusted the people working there. There were more experienced them him.

Edit: There you go, The images weren't working

The instant I began writing a description of La Rosa in my post, this song began to play on my Pandora.

I share Spawnling's sentiment regarding accessible characters, which is one reason why I expressed interest in the role of priest and store owner.
