Tempest said Kingdom of Tuleria: MAJOR PORT to exterior world. Destabilization of the power can remove high power NPCs or throw the country into civil war.

I knew there was a reason other than 'Its the twins homeland' that the adonai twins would want to save tuleria.

I do however agree with kad about the underdark, we likely don't want to lose that, plus we have a number of drow characters remember.

Also the silver eyes thing is only one brood of vampires I believe, Diana's if I'm not mistaken. The others two broods have differing characteristics.

Nah, going with what Brovo written in the first LoR2, it's common vampires trait:
Vampires themselves are universally identifiable with their silver eyes, though some use magic to hide this trait. Their fangs can retract which, unless closely examined, makes it difficult to tell whether they are or are not vampires. Furthermore, Diana’s brood in particular, tend to merge well in the upper echelons of society and gain favour with others.

Yeah. I'm a little iffy about losing the Underdark. There's a lot of scary things down there and a lot of highpower stuff they could get access to if they capture the underdark... I also realize lots of drow characters. I'd rather deny the enemy that stuff. But in the same instance, there's other things I'd prefer not to lose atm too. Atm, its a toss-up for me about ignoring Renalta and the Underdark. One weakens us internally but offers good resources. The other weakens us externally in a very isolated place that offers good resources.

speaking purely from the viewpoint of my character, Tuleria is all he'll probably care about. Even then though, he doesn't really have a lot to his name so I doubt he'd see Tuleria as something he NEEDS to rescue, but rather something he would prefer to be around a bit longer.

So basically i'll just be doing whatever the majority decide.

My orders got pushed back to the 8th, hence why i'm still here... for another day at least haha

Well, since others are giving their opinions, I'll weigh in on what missions I think we should take and which we should abandon based on this initial info. In descending order of what I feel is most important to take down to least important:

Renalta, Underdark, Amazons, Rheinfeld, and Liveria are the ones I think we should take. Goblin Holds, Free Holds, Imperium, and Tuleria seem like ones we should abandon for the moment.

Also here's my reasoning for those choices and that particular ranking, in a hider because it's kinda long.

A civil war in Tuleria also sounds like something my character would be interested in. Lots of money and political power to be made in a civil war =P

But really:

Renalta*: I guess it's our base of operations. Plus angels. Mostly the angels. Bases of operations can move.

Imperium: They're all supposed to be dead anyway. Bloody cheaters. And Eternal Soul Gem? Sounds like they want more not-death. Hackerz.

Rheinfield*: Dat holy magic bro

Liveria*: Dat monster hunting bro

Goblin Holds: Eh. Jumpy upstarts and a shifty sounding task from the goblin guy. One mage is worth less than any country.

Free Holds*: Actual 100% demon presence. Cheap manpower.

Underdark: Mechanists are pretty sweet. They're also pretty hidden and impossible to find.

Tuleria: Eh. Liveria has a port. Let distant and important NPC's go that way.

Amazons*: Kinda seems to have the direst consequences. Plus blood magic is always fun.

No, it was totally intentional on his part. Here's a copy and paste of a Skype convo about 5 minutes before he posted.

[12:05:11 AM] Herzi: copy paste it. Don't quote it tho

I suppose I should clarify that nothing here is finished 100%. Like the angel enclave has been moved to Liveria, because I felt there were too many rescue missions. Also, Amazonia is no longer terminated society. (Poor wording on my part. I didn't mean total annihilation, I meant as a nation, they would no longer be a power player.)

Also, to clarify further so you all have more to go on from the Word of God.

Each nation brings something potent to the table. Like to counterpin the "Imperium is weak" bit, note they have two things going for them. First, the immortal regiment, which is basically the remaining 10,000 year old badasses that refused to stay dead. They operate like a single entity. Put them on a line and it will not fall. They are the immovable object for all concerns. Secondly, they are highly adaptable. They lost the colonia because they lost the magic war. The response? Go pursue one of the most powerful magical artifacts in the world so they can stop that nonsense.

Amazons? Potent shock troopers--including blood mages--and ambush predator tactics. What they lack in number they make up for in skill.

Tuleria? Lizardmen, which are basically 6-8 feet tall muscular juggernaut troops. By the thousands. They also have access to firearms, specifically cannons, which are very useful artillery.

Free Holds? Sheer irreducible numbers that they use to pin enemies down before their highly paid specialists lay waste to a battlefield. Technically speaking, toe to toe, no other nation in the world could win against them. Even Rheinfeld's inquisitions do not get far. The problem is uniting them since they constantly change leadership.

The only reason the Goblin Holds is doing as well as it is is because the Free Holds saw the imperium as a greater threat. Xixis is however an extremely potent mage, and what the goblins lack in raw power they make up for with ingenuity. Stuff like mastering the Asimov Worms.

Every nation brings something very potent to the table. Don't write one off out of perceived weakness.

As well, something that seems utterly horrifying can still be salvaged. Some nations you help will have the incentive to aid the ones around them if they get in trouble.

Finally, keep in mind geography. The more demons can streak havoc in a nation, make it unstable, the more likely they can start an invasion from that location. Some locations will naturally last longer than others in terms of resisting the invasion, corruption, etc.

The ultimate goal should be to keep as much of the world going as possible and contain the threat. Writing off the northern half of the world to a force that quintessentially has infinite numbers of disposable people to throw at you is unwise.

So Word of God is to write off the southern half of the world instead. Let's do this, people!

Hah. This is why I prefaced my thing with a note about it being based on the current info only. Just as the mission statements are not at all final and conclusive, neither should our chatter about what we'd prefer right at this moment be final and conclusive.

But that extra info about what each nation might bring to the table is really nice to have. Some kinda of blurb about each nation to that effect would be nice to see paired with the mission statements.

I had something in mind, and then Jorick convinced me, and then with Brovo's post I re-convinced myself. I'm personally partial to saving Liveria, Rheinfeld, the Free Holds, the Imperium, and the Underdark. However, I'm reconsidering again because of Brovo, so yeah.

So who should we save? Geographically, the best bets would be Renalta, Liveria, Free Holds, Tuleria, and the Underdark. That would allow us to surround enemy forces while maintaining some mobility—being Tuleria across the Blood Sea, ships between Liveria and Tuleria, and the underground tunnels for pretty much any surprise attack ever. However, the Underdark would be hard to defend, and so it is the one I'm most willing to drop, despite our Drow brethren.

In terms of military advantages, I feel like Rheinfeld is the top choice, followed by Liveria's angels, then the Free Holds, and finally the Imperium. However, Tuleria's ships are important for mobility, so throw that onto the list with the Free Holds, even though I consider them more of a utility. The other armies I feel we can afford to lose.

Unfortunately, that gives us some tough choices. After even more deliberation, I'm now vouching for Free Holds, Tuleria, the Imperium, Rheinfeld, and either Renalta or Liveria, hopefully whichever we choose can back up the other.

What about the missions you say? I'm not really considering those yet, waiting for Brovo's post. This is a preliminary study based primarily on the tangible geographical and military assets of each nation, which are far more set in stone than "ooh princess".

Well: since everyone has analysed the crap out of the limited infomation we have, I'm just going to throw this one out there and say that, as it stands, Alicia would want to go to Liveria no matter what. As a character, she would struggle to go elsewhere unless told to by someone high up that it is important.

To add one seemingly missed strand of analysis: An alliance with the Amazons would be hugely beneficial. They are mostly unaffected by infighting (The holds, Imperium, etc.), have access to the Blood river and, perhaps most important, stand to gain the most out of Blade's help. They are the nation that is made weakest if not helped and since they are characteristically passionate individuals, are most likely to be very loyal/appreciative to Renalta.

Murderok Level Up

Upgrade: Heavy Hitter
New: Adrenaline

Customs:
Upgrade: Manbreaker; Murderok has well and truly ensured that he's learned how to craft the oversized bolts for the Manbreaker and has several custom head designs to affix upon them, such as the gutspiller, a wicked moon-bladed bolt head designed to spill a mans guts into the ground (or just bisect him completely if he's close enough) and a serrated design for biting into stone and wood to affix climbing ropes (or make it REALLY messy to pull out of someone)
New: Gore; Murderok uses the heavy horns during a charge to gore his enemies, the sight is messy and hellaciously demoralising to most folk who really do prefer the sight of most people with their insides, well, inside instead of gracing a minotaurs horns like a necklace of sausage meat.

Gryff Level Up

Upgrade: Charger
New: Endurance Training

Customs:
Upgrade: Battlefield Physician; Gryff has become more proficient at dealing with battlefield injuries and even some off the battlefield injuries.
New: Reverse Physician: Gryffs talent at basic healing and stitching someone up has lead to an increased skill and knowledge of where exactly he can hit to open someone up in the optimum manner with a bow or blade. At least a basic knowledge at it anyway.
