The Dominion War is over, many ships are still in dry docks across federation space undergoing repairs and refits. A few new ships have just been completed and now with no war they are being re-purposed to diplomatic, scientific and exploration vessels. The USS Cutlass is being sent to explore the inner Alpha Quadrant and make first contact with any new warp capable species that they find along the way.

In order to avoid entering the territory of the warlike Breen who had allied with the Dominion during the war the USS Cutlass has been ordered to make way towards the center of the galaxy for about 200 light years before heading towards Denab.

The Crew

Each player will have two characters, on from the following list, and one minor character. The major characters are of the rank listed but the minor characters can be any rank you want from Crewman to Master Chief Petty Officer, and i will allow one Ensign (two including mine), I don't want fighting over the Ensign position so it will only be available to the players who choose a major character with rank of Lieutenant, since they have the least Bridge time (well, except the counselor) and the Ensigns are the only minors who have Bridge clearance (unless specific authorization is given by the CO or XO)

Name: Bella Toselli

Race: Orion
Pre-Academy Background:Bella's real name is unknown because she was found as a two year old aboard a damaged freighter by the Federation Starship USS Venture NCC-71854 as the only survivor.
She was found in critical condition her frail form somehow hanging on to life even though the ship's atmosphere was toxic. Her condition shocked the boarding party because she was starving and severely dehydrated.
Rushed aboard the Venture she was in critical condition and for several days CMO Dr Vitto Toselli struggled to keep her among the living.
Having no name to call her Dr Toselli decided to name her Bella for beautiful in the hopes that giving her a name would give her a reason to hang on.
Bella became the most popular child on the Venture receiving a constant stream of visitors, one such being the Doctor's Wife Anna.
Once Bella was deemed healthy Anna Toselli who operated the ship's lounge as a civilian contractor offered to serve as her guardian.
Ditto her husband would joke years later that it was love at first sight as he watched his wife grow deeply attached to the young Bella.
Anna had her husband convinced in a short time that Bella should be more than their ward so they formally adopted her.
Bella's child hood was somewhat normal for a child raised on a Galaxy class ship till the day she hit puberty and her physiology shifted radically.
Like all Orion females she began giving off powerful pheromones that attracted unwanted attention to her and disrupting a diplomatic negotiation.
Bella was forced to take inhibitors to cease her natural pheromone release along with her sex drive. Bella found focus on school work as a substitute for her pent up mental energy and excelled in her courses as a side effect.
Her mother Anna Toselli an Operatic Diva instilled a love of music into her daughter and cultivated her singing voice from an early age
At 15 she went on tour with her mother performing in such places as "Teatro La Fenice, Venice, Teatro di San Carlo, Naples and Opéra royal du château de Versailles, Versailles.
Bella was considered a Diva at age 16 and could have chosen to be a much sought after member of any Opera company.

Academy Background: Entering the academy on her 17th birthday Bella proved an exemplary student. Having been raised on a Galaxy class the Venture she had enough experience with Star Fleet Directives, Regs, Orders and Technology that she had an edge on most of her classmates.
She attended premed courses while at the academy her experience helping her father allowing her to show I higher degree of understanding. Her scores academically were the highest in her class and she graduated in 2nd place.

Post-Academy Background: Once she graduated she applied and was accepted to the Seleana Medical School Luna where she shone as a student eventually graduating she was in her classes top 10 in fact she was 3rd.
After Med school Bella did 2 years intern on Star Base 415.
She now has applied an been accepted as the Cutlass CMO hoping to at last return to her roots as a star traveler.

Other: Bella is excellent at reading body language sometimes almost seeming to be empathic
Her physiology requires that she take inhibitors to limit her pheromone excretion which not treated can cause disruption among the male members of the crew. Because of the inhibitors Bella has never dated because she knows such close physical contact could still result in something she doesn't wish

Name: Serena Taylor
Rank: Dr, Lieutenant
Position: Ships Counselor
Race: Human
Pre-Academy Background: Serena grew up in Southern California, with an essentially single mother, after her father left to serve in Starfleet. When he was home, he was loving and exciting, giving her fair reason to idolize him and want to follow him into space. However, she was never interested in the more physical aspects and focused instead on the people around her, and the new experiences his exploration allowed.
Academy Background: She graduated ninth in her class from the Academy for her regular schooling, and third in her class from the psychology track. She loves learning about anything and everything, and spent much of her time in the library. She will often go on learning sprees, following connected topics for hours into obscure sources.
Post-Academy Background: She spent a year as an Assistant Counselor onboard the USS Thunderchild (and received a stellar recommendation from her superior, Counselor Fleur) before being assigned to the USS Cutlass as her first solo position.

Position: Medical Nurse
Race:Vulcan
Pre-Academy Background:Your average Vulcan life, although because of her interest in alien physiology and spending time in space, she chose Starfleet over the Vulcan Science Academy. Her parents were disappointed, but allowed her to continue on her own path.
Academy Background: A star student in her class, although not number one. This is not because of her intellect, but because the environment didn't suit her.
Post-Academy Background: She attended Starfleet Medical school as well, again graduating in the top ten of her class but not first. She has been assigned to the cutlass as a precursor to possibly becoming a surgeon.

your minor cant be a Lieutenant jr grade, that is above Ensign. A nurse would be a Petty Officer, so based on your background i would probably say change your rank to Petty Officer First Class.

Pre= Born in Shikahr as an Orphan he always felt left out by other Vulcans and struggled to control his emotions as he saw them more as an asset than a crux he wasn't very high in his class and decied to join star fleet because of the low scores and the desire to find out more about emotions.

During= While he wasn't the best scientist in Vulcan he was the best in his star fleet class although his piloting skills were not as good. He didn't have many friends and he was always awkward as he wasn't used to people displaying emotion meaning he got used to working alone.

Post= Until recently he had only been working in labs on planet or in orbit for weapons research mainly on Mars. So when the opportunity arose he quickly grabbed it to escape the mundane and hopefully make some ground breaking research.
