[ The crest of House Lilla: a purple sword facing downward, over a white field. It is meant to symbolize their connection to House Trisch, which it mimics, but also recall the story of the House’s birth, as its founder was married to a dyemaker. Their motto is ‘We Are Of Royal Blood.’ ]
Lord Findlay Lilla is the lord of Lilland, and Purpra. He is age 25, tall of height, strong of weight in muscle, light of skin, sandy of hair, and dark of eyes. He is married to Lady Elspeth Lilla, age 27, born to a country baron's House of little import. He has three son [ Douglas, age 10, Aengus, age 7, and Thomas, age 1. ], and two daughters [ Abigail, age 5, and Stella, age 3]. He has one sister [ Cunegund, age 30 ], who is married to the second son of House Dunsch-Taxi.
About forty years ago, Prince Ranald, the fourth-born son of the then-Overlord Henry IV desired to marry a girl of lowborn birth: a local dyeworker’s daughter. Overlord Henry was to have none of it. He disowned his son, and stripped him of all land and claim to inheritance. He only let him live on the condition that he march to settle the land of Almare alongside House Griffith. As he was forbidden to take his family's own crest, he made his own in accordance with his marriage, and a new house was formed from the family name of his wife's.
House Lilla fought for you valiantly over the years, but Ranald and his children are long dead, and now his grandson, Finday, rules the fiefs they fought so hard to colonize.
Lord Findlay himself is a man of narrow thinking and short-sightedness, preferring to glory in tourneys and battle rather than rule. He leaves the lion's share of that to his steward, Duncan Bannister. He is fiercely proud of his family, if only to give himself an excuse to answer insults with violence.
His eldest son is turning out much the same: an arrogant brat who treats everyone below him as a plaything, and all above as someone to challenge. At a tourney hosted last year, the lad was rooting for one of the knights to win in the final round. When his favourite knight had fallen, he drew up an arrow, and shot the victor through the throat as the poor man was accepting his victory wreath. His father encourages this bad behaviour, claiming it is how one confident in their power should act.
Lord Findlay himself has yet to do you any great service, for though he is fearsome in battle, he refuses to cooperate with any soldier not from his own house. And aside from answering the call to arms, he offers no help in keeping your realm.

[ The crest of House Orring; a golden dragon, salient over a pean field. It is meant to symbolize the House’s great mineral wealth, as well as reference the many tales told of dragons living in their deep mines. Their motto is ‘We Bleed Gold.’ ]
Lord August Orring is the lord of Cafferty, Vaughton, Pitt’s Mine, Death’s Hill, Slave’s Hill, Prisoner’s Hill, Dead Fields, and Drowned Woods. He is age 44, average of height and weight, pale of complexion, black of hair, and amber of eye. He was married to the daughter of an Ordained banker, Clemence, but she passed away at the age of twenty-eight fifteen years ago. He remarried to Lady Eleanor, age 44, who is the sister of Lady Joan Rhiwallon, fourteen years ago. He bore one son with Clemence [ Wulfric, age 25 ], and one daughter to Eleanor [ Synove, age 13 ]. He had two younger brothers, but they are long dead.
House Orring was founded by a village’s local Reed, who was granted land by the local lord in return for a service that remains unknown. Though legend says it was for slaying a dragon, it was much more likely a reward for ratting out the corrupt, petty vassal lord of the region.
Much of the land was hard and useless, but the Reed was determined to find something of value, that the same fate of his likely predecessor might not befall himself. After much searching, it was discovered that each province held vast tunnels filled with ores, especially gold. House Orring became extremely wealthy, and used their coin to buy mercenaries, to conquer yet more territory, from which they extracted yet more wealth.
When Lord Griffiths called for men to aid him in his colonization, House Orring was the largest contributor of men, for they believed there was a great deal to be gained in the potential resource findings of such a mythical and untapped land. And they were correct; upon settling, they found many places filled with coal, and the vast woods provided an excellent place to start charcoal refining operations. To this day, they have not regretted the venture.
Lord August himself is keenly aware of his family history, and prides himself on his mighty house. That said, like his forefathers, he is a pragmatic man at heart, and doesn’t place honor or pride before a profit of any kind. He is cold, calculating, aloof, and distant, not seeming to be entirely in the present, always thinking.
As can be guessed, his marriage to Clemence was purely financial, and the two shared a blatantly loveless relationship. His marriage to Eleanor was political, having wanted to seal an alliance between another of the vassals under Lord Griffiths, to ensure his protection.
His son, Wulfric, lacks the business acumen of his father, to put it lightly. He lies about the castle grounds all day, doing nothing in particular but lying around, eating, chatting with friends in the shade, or fawning over girls. He’s certainly spoiled. In fact, he rarely spends money, but his sloth is something to be marvelled at.
Synove isn’t lazy, but she’s not a very bright girl. She spends most of her days playing and talking with her friends, or in the sewing circle of the castle servants. Being a plain girl, her only suitors of yet are those who wish to forge an alliance with House Orring, for whatever reason.

[ The crest of House Rhiwallon; a white cheval separating a semy of red cross potents over a field of black. It is meant to symbolize the joining of their House with that of the Holy Order of St. Edwin’s Pilgrimage. Their motto is ‘The Faith’s Shield and Sword.’ ]
Lady Joan Rhiwallon is the lady of Rhonia, Edwincastle, Finkhills, and Frommland. She is age 27, average of height and thin of weight, pale and sickly of complexion, brown of hair and brown of eye. She is married to a clansmen, Odon, age 29, which has caused much scandal at court. She had two sons [ Victor, age 7, Arthur, age 2 ], and one daughter [ Donna, age 5 ]. She a sister, Eleanor, age 44, who is married to Lord August, and has a child of her own. She had three older brothers, but they are dead.
House Rhiwallon used to be a House of some import and renown, but ever since the unification of Lundland, in which the fought the Overlord to the end, their House has been on a steady decline. So pathetic had they become, that not decades earlier did they agree to merge their House to that of a dying order, the Holy Order of St. Edwin’s Pilgrimage.
Lady Joan’s father, Markus, was desperate to preserve his House, and so when Lord Griffiths called for men to join him in his settlement of Almare, he saw it as an opportunity to preserve himself. Unfortunately, fortune did not favour him; the houses Orring and Lilla took the best land, and any others who attempted to stake a claim were quickly cut down by either. Not wanting to suffer the same fate, House Rhiwallon stayed in its own lands.
Even more pitiful, his last son, the eldest and heir, died of dysentery. As his eldest daughter had been married to Lord Orring, to protect himself from them, this presented a problem, and so he disinherited his eldest daughter, passing the inheritance over to his younger daughter, Joan. He died several months later, after falling down the stairs and cracking his skull.
Lady Joan, known to be sickly and eccentric, has done nothing to improve her House’s prestige. She has married a clansmen of the woods, out of love, and born three children with him. The court is scandalized with her, and House Orring is still perturbed at Lady Eleanor being axed from the inheritance. It was thought that due to her frailty, Joan would not survive even one pregnancy, but she surprised everyone by surviving three, with two of them being boys.
The clansman, Odon, is a strong and tanned-skin man, who is quickly adapting to life in a castle. He still speaks with the accent of his native tongue, but is seeming more and more Lundish each day.
The three children are young, and it is uncertain how they will turn out, but Victor seems to take after his father; strong, daring, and handsome, with a light complexion mixed between pale and tanned.
