If this looks like a copy and paste, that's most likely because this is basically a copy and paste of the Interest Thread packed and organized into one thingy. >_> Don't judge me, I'm new to this kind of stuff, okay?!
Anyway, here's our OoC/discussion/talk/True Sign Up thread! Feel free to discuss, comment, or post your characters at your discretion!
Here's the introduction and backstory of the RP for those interested in how exactly this RP is different compared to other ones!
Fate / Finem Venatus (Fate/End Game)
“Do you know of the the Holy Crusades, young child?”
“You mean the wars that were fought in the holy lands? Yeah, we learned about them in history the other day!” squealed the young innocent child to their grandfather.
The old shriveled man laughed as he sat down, patting his lap as a sign for his granddaughter to take a seat. “Let me tell you a story, my young child,” said the man as the child leapt onto his lap. “History is a strange thing, in the sense that we know not what is true and what is not. You see, victors decide the outcome of history, and decide who is truly the villain and the hero. Allow me to shed a little light that those silly history books won’t tell you. The Holy Crusaders were indeed a string of known wars and fights over holy lands, but they weren’t fought for the land themselves.”
“Then what did they fight for?”
“They fought for a cup.”
The young girl looked up, puzzled at her grandfather at what he was saying. “A cup…? They fought over a simple cup?”
“Not just any cup, my dear!” laughed the old man. “This cup was one that was sought by many people of different races, and those who served them were all being used as fodder for an ancient and devious ritual carried out by the most manipulative of scoundrels since before the dawn of science, and when the realm of sorcery, magic, and fantasy was no secret or silly ideal.”
“What was the ritual for, grandpa?”
“To fill the cup.”
“Why not fill it with water instead?”
“Because this was a cup that could not be filled simply by water, but with something far more powerful. Do you know what that could be, my dear?” The young child shook her head. In response to this, the old man simply tapped his finger on the child’s chest, “The soul.”
“Why the soul?”
“That’s simple. You see, the soul is something that cannot ever truly disappear, it’s essentially a source of power. While the body, heart, and mind may crumble to ashes, the soul will never die. That is why these villainous people tricked these people to fight by telling them that they would find glory and wealth, and that they would find their heaven, or nirvana. These people needed strong souls, and what better than those of brave and loyal soldiers?”
“However, before I tell you more, I must tell you who these evil people were. See, my child, during the early stages of life that we call the Birth of Humanity, there were those who were gifted with powers that they did not comprehend themselves, but others would soon fear. These powers would soon be called Verum Amet, or True Magic, and with these powers these mystics would soon find that they could accomplish anything that they desired. Sadly, the greed of man is endless, and soon they wanted more… almost an insatiable hunger for more power than they could think of.”
“Why were they so hungry?”
“Greed does things that none can understand. It changes a person to unquestionable levels. So, to answer your question, I’m not too sure. They were simply greedy.”
“What did they decided to do to satisfy their hunger, then?”
“Well, they decided to bring forth something that would make anyone’s dream true; a device capable of granting wishes.”
“Like a genie?!” exclaims the little girl.
“Yes, my dear,” laughed the old man, “like a genie. Although, this genie didn’t have any willpower or values of its own, it was a device that simply was a device to achieve things that were impossible by any other means. To achieve this the strongest of the mystics gathered and utilized their powers to create a cup crafted from the bones that were said to be from the one who first stood on this planet; the progenitor of mankind. The only thing they needed now, was a mighty source of energy that they could utilize to grant their wishes. Thus, began the Holy Crusades to fill the powerful wish granting cup with souls.”
“What happened after it was filled, grandpa?”
“Well…” the old man sighed as he closed his eyes, a bitter smile on his lips as he stroke his granddaughter’s head. “It would seem as if the greed of those mages was stronger than they had previously thought, and in an instant, just as they were drawn together by it, they were wedged apart by greed. Man became so overcome with greed that they decided that only one was worthy of the miracle the artifact possessed... and thus even more blood was spilled.”
“But this time, it was not with simple people, toys, or trinkets… but with the greatest of all powers that were available to them; beings called “Champions”. A mutual agreement was made, and thus a second ritual was held, which would later be coined as the “The Calling”. Do you remember those tales I would tell you when you were young? Of how there were people who rode on winged-horses, slew mighty dragons, and wielded holy swords? The tales of how some gained bodies of invincibility, while others wielded weapons forged by their parents who were gods. These were what those mystics so very sought; the ultimate familiars who were the embodiment of the heroes of those fairy tales, history, and telltales. Some, however, were even creatures and monstrosities... while some were gods themselves!” spoke the old man as stretched his arms out to exaggerate.
“With this, the ancient artifact known as the Holy Grail was born, and with its birth erupted the hundreds among hundreds of wars to obtain the Holy Grail. With these wars came legends, stories, and tales that became altered by scholars which would become the stories we now listen to today, and which only added fuel for future mages to use as servants for their diabolical needs.”
“So, what happened next? Did anyone get the Holy Grail?”
“At the time? No, but mostly because of how chaotic the nature of the wars were with no one to govern and rule over the others. However, despite the greed of man, there is a redeeming factor that will always surprise all. The possibility to that even when faced with impossible odds, man will always find a way to go beyond their limits in order to achieve their goals. The impossible was getting through all the other servants and masters who so sought the Holy Grail, while the goal was to actually get to the Holy Grail.” The little girl’s eyes brightened up with excitement at what she was hearing. “One person found it impossible to obtain the Holy Grail without bypassing all the others, and so he created something that be capable of bypassing them! This creation would soon became known as the ‘Lance of Longinus’.”
“That’s the spear that killed the son of god, isn’t it, grandpa?”
“That it is, my dear. Just as its legend foretold, it did just that. It was used by a mighty Servant, whose name was forever erased, and he showed his power by killing the Strongest Servant; the one we call the son of god. However, because of the Lance of Longinus’ power, it prevented anyone from ever using the son of god as a Servant ever again.”
“Isn't that like cheating, though? To create something so powerful?”
“To the one who created it, it was not. He found it fair game due to the chaos that was transpiring, and in his mind, I believe he thought it was the best action.”
“So, did he win the Holy Grail?”
“No, he did not. For you see, my child, even with this mighty power at his command and with a Servant capable of erasing others, it was no match for what would happen next. They united with one another to defeat their common foe. This event would forever be known to them as the 'The War for the Lance'. Sadly, even while under this single banner, it was all a ruse for backs were stabbed and friendly blood was spilled... all in order to see who could obtain the Lance of Longinus for themselves.”
“So… there wasn't anyone who was truly good in the alliance, was there?” muttered the little girl as she frowned with disappointment.
“I wouldn't say that, for there was one pair above all the others that decided that this was a dangerous path. On his own, and without the others knowing, this pair challenged the ones with the Lance of Longinus. After a fierce battle, and a mighty blow, the Servant and Master who wielded the unholy weapon were slain. At this time, the pair were left with a treasure beyond their wildest dreams; the Lance of Longinus and the Holy Grail were before them.” The old man paused as he looked as his granddaughter, who looked as if she knew what was going to happen next. To this, he smiled. “You’re thinking they took them both, aren’t you?” She nodded her head. “Well, when I first heard this story, I thought the same. Instead, the two used the Lance of Longinus to destroy the Holy Grail.”
“W-What?!” exclaimed the little girl with surprise.
“Yes, they destroyed them both. The impact of these two powerful devices caused the Lance of Longinus to become nothing more rubbish, while the Holy Grail was nothing more than a broken cup.”
“S-So, they ended the wars?! What happened next?!”
Smiling, the old man continued. “Simple, my dear, with both artifacts gone, the mages had lost their reason to continue fighting. They disbanded and the servants were no more under their control and simply faded back into nothingness. The heroes of this ordeal, however, died as they destroyed the artifacts, for it required more power than they could wield to do so, and thus they used their very lives to accomplish such a task.”
“That’s sad though… is that really how the story ends?”
“Unfortunately… it is not. You see, as the years went by and unbeknownst to all... the Holy Grail slowly returned.”
“W-What?! How could it do that, Grandpa?!”
“Remember how I told you that the strongest power, is the soul itself? Well, the Holy Grail was an object that was meant to absorb and use souls. Think about it, my dear, for centuries humanity fought for the Holy Grail, but not only did soldiers, innocents, and mages die… but also the Champions that were the servants of those master mages. All those powerful souls as they were slain were absorbed into the Holy Grail, giving it powers that no mere mortal could comprehend.”
“But if it was destroyed, how could it come back?”
“Well, with all those souls at its disposal, the Holy Grail became sentient and developed a mind of its own. In fear of someone creating a weapon capable of destroying it, which was what happened, it had decided to do something that no one had expected. It created a Champion of its own, one that would carry another Holy Grail that was created, and which also held the sentience of itself. The Holy Grail that this created Champion held was the True Holy Grail, while the one that was destroyed was simply the container of its stored energy.”
“So… does that mean that the sacrifices that the Master and that Servant made were meaningless?”
“Not exactly… they allowed the world to recover and heal, and for the lives of the greedy mages to pass until the true Holy Grail could recover and select those worthy of using its power.”
“What does that mean?”
“It means, that instead of chaos like before where even innocents were killed, the next war would be contained and kept secure, while keeping casualties to a minimal. See, while the Holy Grail slowly recovered its power and began to create a new body for itself, it sent messengers in the form of seals upon peoples’ bodies. With the seals came information into their minds that told them where the town that the Holy Grail was to be located, along with the image of the Holy Grail’s Champion that they would have to see in order to be fully accepted into the Holy Grail War. The Holy Grail made its Champion the Overseer of the war in order to prevent chaos like last time from happening.”
“Huh… Alright, well what happened next, Granddad? Who were the people that responded to the Grail’s summoning like, what or who did they summon as Servants, and who won?!” squealed the little girl as she bounced on her grandfather’s lap.
“Well, that’s where this story is going… It is simply a prequel to the true story, the story of Fate / Finem Venatus, the Holy Grail War that ended all Holy Grail Wars… but that, my dear, is for another night…”
No Godmodding! Nope. Nadda. Zip. NOPE! No excuses! This rule is more lax toward npcs/Non-playable Characters, but please use your head! However, if you feel your character is being pushed around too much by other people, or if things seem to be going bad for you, then please don’t hesitate to come to me! While I can be a friendly person, I won’t hesitate to put my foot down if I suspect there to be bullying as my duty as a fair GM! >:L Chances are, given how things usually are in these kinds of settings, that there will definitely be high fluctuations on the power levels of characters in the RP. However! Do be warned that this does not in any way mean that there is a contract, deal, or some given right that because you are playing a mighty god-tier destroyer of world character that you can push people around and do whatever you want! Stronger forces will without a doubt face greater challenges and will mostly be given bounties from the Overseer for their amusement. Seriously, this Overseer is straight up a dick! While I sincerely hope from the bottom of my heart that we can all have fun and go nuts while having a good time, please, PLEASE, take into account and consideration that signing up with someone who has more power under or over their belt will definitely mean more trouble for you, both from me and the other players!I will throw this out there right now! That this is an elimination game unlike any other! I will try my hardest as the kind person I am to keep the killing from happening until we have a ground set base and have what I feel is a good point for people to start dying! However, if things happen, and I feel that you’ve gotten yourself into that situation despite numerous options to avoid it, I won’t hesitate to allow your death to happen. You have been warned! >_> Now! While the original has it that the war is supposed to be secret, you are allowed to go a bit nuts and destroy things if they reasonable and explained properly! Take a look/read at Fate/Zero and check out how that plays along, some things there happen RIGHT IN FRONT OF CIVILIANS, and that’s perfectly fine since, like I said, this Overseer doesn’t really care and can be a dick! However, if he deems that things are getting too out of hand, then consequences will be had! Simply put, if you think it’s a bad idea, it probably is. If you think it’s a bad idea, but could be fun, run it by me and I’ll give you a “yay” or a “nay”!You control your PC(s) and that is all! Wanna control that dragon npc who’s napping? Nope. Wanna play with the CEO of McDonalds who just happens to be in town? NO. Feel like stabbing the voice actor for Barney who just happens to be with the CEO of McDonalds and who also just so happens to be directly in front him? Not going to happen… Okay, maybe a bit on that last one. But in all honestly, you will probably only have limited controls over Npcs. Services such as taxis, busses, small minions, etc. are fine to be controlled. Though, if I feel it’s being abused I miiight just suspend your privileges with this in order to keep the flow of things good. Last, but not least, if you want to quit the game, just say so! If you leave all of a sudden and considering how much a sudden disappearance can affect an RP, it’ll ruin the enjoyment of others and it’ll make people extremely sad. :/ I think this happened before with the GM, and players were left to do things on their own.
There are classes that have been included that we may or may not be familiar with, and these classes are the infamous Ruler, Avenger, Beast, and a new class that I made but am still working on developing; Progenitors.
Click on them to read up on the new classes!
These Servants are basically those who were worshiped, praised, or hailed as a higher being than just a normal human in life. Simply put, they are the gods in history and stories given mortal form via the Holy Grail. For example: Thor, Zeus, Odin, Susanoo, Amaterasu, and Loki would fall under the Ruler class. Does this mean that they have all of their powers that they would have in life? No. The Holy Grail may be a powerful wish-granting object, but due to its current restrictions (and for the sake of stability of the RP, while also making things a LOT less complicated), it cannot bring the full power of a god into the RP. All those summoned into this class have Divinity and Magic Resistance for Class skills.
These Servants are those who were hailed as a hero despite their wishes, sacrificed for a greater purpose, were betrayed or had betrayed someone in some manner or form, or were killed wrongly. For example: Ariadne, Medea, and Polyphemus (Cyclops) would qualify as an Avenger Servant. All those summoned into this class have the Class Skill “Vindication” that boosts defenses and resistances due to the amount of damage done to them (think of Spartacus), while also granting them temporary boosted stats the closer they are to death depending on their Vindication's rank. They also get the skill “Battle Continuation” for another one of their class skills as well. To understand how Vindication works even further, please consult this small chart:
Vindication Skill: Boosts defenses and grants magical resistances and immunities based upon rank. The more damage done to the bearer, the more their resistances and stats are increased.
A+ Rank - Same as the rest, but when fatally injured, grants three Ranks up in all Stats. Grants Magic Resistance of A-Rank temporarily (To be counted as fatally injured: core must be damaged; loss of a limb; dying; etc.)
A Rank = When critically wounded and hurt, grants two ranks up in all Stats. Grants Magic Resistance of B-Rank temporarily.
B Rank = When damaged badly, but still capable of basic motor functions and movement, allows one to gain one rank in all stats. Grants resistances to poisons and some curses.
C Rank = When damaged, but are hindered slightly, they receive a rank up in Str, and Agility. Grants Magic Resistance of C Rank.
D Rank = When damaged, but are unhindered, they receive a rank up in Str.
E Rank = Not much is given at this rank. Minor resistances and a small boost are applied at this state no matter what (5 points to Str and Agility are added).
Now we come to the Servants who have been summoned into the Beast Class. These Servants are the great beasts of legends whose death would make their slayer a famous hero. Basically, spirits summoned into this class are the ‘great beasts’ or ‘creatures’ of legends that were slain and used to make their hero more famous, although, they are not limited to just that specific condition. A creature summoned into this class doesn’t necessarily have to be a ‘famous’ beast slain by someone, just as long as they are a beast in general and have a ‘name’ or some sort of history known by the world. Examples of Beast class Servants are: Medusa, Satyr, Fafnir, The Hydra, Cerberus, Scylla, Mermaids/Sirens, Wendigos, and other creatures. Those who are summoned into this class have the Class Skill “Transformation” and “Monstrous Strength”. Transformation is theoretically Shapeshifting, however, this is a more advanced version that allows its user to alternate between their humanoid form and their ‘true’ form, along with anything in-between in mere seconds. Upon taking one's true form, they gain resistances and skills reflecting those that they might have had in life. But as a result of transforming to their truest form, their identities are automatically revealed to all.
These are perhaps the most unique and complex of all Servants, in the sense that they aren’t actually ‘real’ entities to begin with, and are perhaps the weakest of the Servant Classes except perhaps for a select few of ‘heroes’. The Servants of the Progenitor class are actually beings that are actually what one would call a ‘stock’ character, or one without a true name. To put it simply, take the stock character ‘Feral Child’ for example, and you might immediately think of Tarzann, Enkidu, or Atalanta, who were all raised since birth by animals, but they would not be summoned, but the concept of Feral Child itself would be summoned. Instead of having a famous hero, you would have a concept given a human form that takes on the traits of the concept that it is summoned as. In this case, if one summoned Feral Child they would receive a man/woman capable of heightened senses, good reflexes and mobility. The downside, however, would be that their intelligence wouldn’t be on par with others and they wouldn’t be capable of performing complex things. Another example would be the Black Knight, you would not receive a hero who was known as a Black Knight, but instead receive the concept of the idealization of the Black Knight. The Black Knight would probably for example not care for causing destruction, harming innocents, and fighting in plain sight, and would most likely go out of their ways to face those who are on the justice spectrum rather than the evil spectrum, despite their Master’s reluctance if they have any. The Class Skills of the Progenitors are Versatility and Counter Hero. Versatility allows one to step outside their bounds of their class of Progenitor, and temporarily borrow the powers of another Class as long as it ties into the summoned “hero’s” concept, with the greater the rank the longer the borrowed powers last. Counter Hero lowers the rank of those that face the Progenitor based upon its rank, effectively leveling the playing field to a more suitable level for the user. The higher the Counter Hero rank, the more targets that can be targeted with it at a time to have their stat ranks decreased along with how much their stats are decreased by. Things such as Noble Phantasms and Skills wouldn’t be affected by Counter Hero however.
Now, with all that said and done, there would be a grand total of eleven (possibly ten if I remove Progenitor) classes to choose from when creating a Servant:
Saber, the Servant of the SwordLancer, the Servant of the LanceArcher, the Servant of the BowRider, the Servant of MountsCaster, the Servant of MagicAssassin, the Servant of the ShadowsBerserker, the Servant of MadnessAvenger, the Servant of VengeanceRuler, the Servant of WorshipBeast, the Servant of CreaturesProgenitor, the Servant of Concepts

Show who they are in the RP, rather than tell~Stats: (From E to A+, E being the worst, A+ being the highest)Strength: Physical prowess.
Endurance: Ability to take hits.
Agility: Speed and flexibility.
Magical Energy: One's reservoir of magical energy.
Luck: Well... just how lucky is your character?
Class Abilities: From E to A+, a single Servant will clearly not have all of these! Also how strong these abilities will be depends on the individual Servant that is summoned. These are the Skills your Servant gets depending on the class they were summoned into. Here's a list, under Class Skills. See the previous post above for the Class Skills of the new Classes. For the designated Class Skills for each Servant Class, click on one of the following based upon what Servant class you're interested in: Saber, Lancer, Archer, Rider, Caster, Assassin, Berserker. As for the newer classes, please refer to the previous post above for their designated Class Skills and use your best judgment!Personal Skills: Special particular powers that depend on the Heroic Spirit's character. Basically, these are the individual perks that your character has by who they were in life. Click Here for a list of abilities and how they work. Feel free to make your own if you can't find what you like in the list~! I will be allowing a maximum of five personal skills, but be warned that the Servant must have a pretty good reason to have that many skills under their belt, and I will probably remove some to balance the Servants out.Noble Phantasms: These are the weapons and powers that are unique to the Heroic Spirit alone! These are usually named and are very symbolic and relate heavily to their legends. These are the Servant's Ace in the hole and without a doubt their greatest possessions. For those curious and are struggling to make a Noble Phantasm, take a look at this page for a good idea. Also, for the sake of the RP and to make things easier for everyone, please don't have anything involving ‘absolute’. Like a weapon that will always hit, or will always strike the heart, or anything like that. This can ruin the fun of others and I'd like to avoid that as much as possible. Also, feel free to have this blank to the public, but PM me the Noble Phantasms, since I will definitely need a record of these.
