The train ride really didn't take that long, surprisingly - the journey from New York to Massachusetts apparently wasn't that long by train. Still, they reached their destination in a flurry of steam and with a shrill ring of a whistle, the Salem Academy students were allowed to disembark. The luggage didn't have to be dealt with; thankfully. Instead, like every year, it would be loaded onto carts and carried up to the school.
Much like the Zephyr, Salem liked to stray from the typical traditional qualities of the wizarding world and branch out into Muggle technology. So, whenever all the students were loaded off the train, they were guided towards an array of large, open-air carts that used a pulley system to close the height distance between them and the academy. Unlike the Zephyr, the school liked to show off wizards incapacity to replicate Muggle technology perfectly.
The carts would have gave even the bravest of people some serious nausea as it made its rickety way up the hill. It was following tracks of course, but it shook that much that one would think it was driving itself.
Ailsa hadn't particularly interacted much with the other populace of her cart in the train, so as soon as humanly possible, she left their company and returned to company she was fine with - herself. Letting out a satisfied sigh, she tapped her fingers mindlessly on her legs and closed her eyes to block out the images of the cart. There was very few things in this world that Ailsa Carrow is afraid of but poorly designed Muggle transport was definitely one of them. That's the primary reason why she hid herself in a corner - she would be properly embarrassed if Tai found her like this.
