"So, you're Cruz Meister... I heard about the technomages but I thought they were extinct...", the principal said to him. "You are not wrong. Our race is almost gone, unfortunately. The classical types of magicians were against us, so they decided to attack. Few of us were managed to survive...", he explained. "I see. And I can say you're one of the survivors?", the principal asked. "I was a child, so my memories of everything are quite few. I even asked my Personal AI about information, but I had no success. Before you can think, my plan is not to destroy the other magicians as revenge. I simply want to understand more about the elements and how are they able to control it...", he said. With that, the principal got up and got to the test room. Cruz followed him, as he wanted to see how skillful he was.

After a while, Cruz left the room with the results. "Hmm... I got 95 on Write, and 44 on Practical... this means I am not skilled into battle.", he muttered to himself. Suddenly, his teminal started to bip. He pressed a button and a floating screen appeared in his front. "Any information useful, Lhermite?", he said. A seemingly human figuer appeared on the screen. It was Cruz's Personal AI, Lhermite. Every technomage has one. "Lord Cruz, I stored your test results on the database. Also, can I take the advantage and store your room and class information as well?", it said. "OK, you shall. As I can see, I am in Class B. Assigned to Room 110.", he said. "........ Data storage successful. Awaiting new orders, Lord Cruz.", Lhermite said. Cruz gave a little smile and turned off his conversation with Lhermite. With that, he moved on to the room assigned.

Theo was running out of ideas to get students to challenge him and he was starting to get frustrated.
Theo walked into the lunch room and sat by himself.
"That's It!" Theo said climbing on the lunch table.
"ANYONE WHO WANTS TO BATTLE ME FOR MY RANK MEET ME BEHIND THE ACADEMY , NUMBER OF CHALLENGERS DOESN'T MATTER......that'll be all." With that Theo left the lunch room and headed towards the back of the academy.
A near by teacher herd Theo's announcement and went to the roof to spectate the battle.

Theo leaned against the wall waiting for his opponent(s) to arrive.
Three students stood in front of Theo and one of them said "we're here for your offer."
" State your name and practical ,you can call me Theo and 68." Theo said getting in his fighting stance.
The three answered with "Philip, 83 / Mike , 80 / Zack , 85."

The teacher wondered why a class B student would challenge three C students with a practical of 68.

Mike and Philip flanked Theo while Zack swung his sword at him.
Theo blocked Zack's sword but was knocked to the left by a bolder hitting him from his right side.
Mike holds Theo still why Zack walks over to them.
Zack swung his sword ripping Theo's shirt and cutting his stomach. Theo screamed in pain as Mike throw him against the wall.
" Damn it I'm not as strong as I used to be."
Theo said punching the ground.
"Sir you can you just have to use Imp to unlock your full abilities." Theo's robotic arm reminded him.
"I hate relying on demons but I have no choice."

"I'll kill my self sending your demonic ass back to hell."

"What the hell!" The teacher shouted out of shock. " His practical raised to 97 , that's impossible!"
-Behind Academy-
Theo's left eye shifted from blue to red.
"Is he dead?" Mike said taking a step back.
Theo grinned and opened his right hand.
Water in the shape of a whip spawned in his hand.
Theo swung the water whip at Mike. Mike tried to dodge it but it caught his feet. Theo pulled Mike closer to him. The closer Mike got the more he could see electricity forming around Theo's robotic arm.
When Mike was under him Theo grabbed him and tossed him in the air.
As he came down Theo punched him with his robotic fist sending him flying into near by trees.
Zack and Philip was shocked and was a little frightened.
Theo shifted the water whip around his fist like it was a glove.
He dashed towards Philip showing how much his speed has increased and punched him his stomach. Philip fell to his knees grabbing his stomach in pain.
Theo didn't hold back and kicked him in his face sending him tumbling a few feet.
Theo turned his attention towards Zack.
Zack held his sword and stood his ground.
"Bring it fresh meat." Theo said in a demonic voice. Zack charged at Theo and swung his sword. Theo caught the sword and breaks it with his robotic arm.

Tyler woke up as he headed to the cafeteria to eat. He saw a person challenge everyone to a match and decided to follow. He watched him thoroughly hand three students their asses on a silver platter and clapped. "Well done. I do believe that I want to join in now. My rank is 52 as well." He explained to Theo as Water began rising around him into semi solid whips.

Delilah shrugged as she lead her through the halls, "Well the ranking system is pretty simple. It's based on intelligence and performance. You base line rank depends on your entrance exams. You can improve this ranking either by improving your grades or challenging people with a higher ranking to battles to increase your ranking too. You'll increase one rank when ever you win a fight. You use the gauntlet to help initiate them."

She explained before continuing, "The top ten students, like me, are in class A and are also on the student council. The first ranked student is Student Council President." By this time they had gotten to her door, "And here's your room. Does that answer your question?"

"Normally, I wouldn't be able to do this, but you've fix my health up by a not so insignificant amount. If I had been this well during my exams, I daresay my final grad would have been a 100 on the written and a 90-above on the practical . . ."

Meruin nodded in acquiescence and closed the door, taking a deep breath. Delilah was mistaken, but that could work out well in the long run. What Meruin was dong wasn't a display of power, it was the building of it; this room was now her workshop, power-source, and hospital all in one. As long as she retained a connection here, her health wouldn't drop below 45% and she would be free to cast weaker spells repeatedly without having to worry about herself.

If she could somehow find a way to make it so her health did not drop below 65% then . . .

Slick could feel the heat of the rising sun. "When'd it get so late? Gonensai Rin." Slick turned and headed out of the cave, leaving a scale of his, shed and a trail of monster corpses.

"Another challenger ,well my name is Theodore Grimheart , I believe my rank is 47." Theo said rolling up his sleeves.

Theo's right eye became red like his left eye and grew horns and a tail.
He sat on the ground and crossed his legs and arms.
"Look Tyler was it I'll give you two choices fight me and I summon a spell that destroys 1/3 of the academy killing you and a countless number of students or we don't fight and I ask you a few questions choose wisely." Theo said as a spell circle spawned under him.

" Ok. Let's talk." Tyler said as he quickly ran his eyes over Theo. It appeared as if he had a demon sealed in him

" My arm told me that there are some powerful magicians in the student council and I need powerful magic to perform this spell. "I'm in. I want to be number 1 anyways. I just need to begin upping my rank." Tyler agreed as he began making mental plans. " What rank are you now? You did just defeat three students at the same time after all." He asked.

"I'm still 47 your rank doesn't change when you defeat a weaker opponent." Theo stood up and walked away.
"I'll come get you when I find out more about the student council cya around."
"Hey what is your rank when we use are combined power Theodore?" Imp asked telepathically.
" That's what I'm gonna go find out."

"Bye." Tyler said as he turned around to stare straight at some people glaring at him. "Let me guess, you want to fight?" He asked as they nodded. "Fine. Let's go." He replied simply as water formed around him and began whipping them.

*One battle later*

Tyler panted as the water wobbled around him and fell. He glared at his last opponent as they fell to their knees. He looked a t his gauntlet and smiled. He was now rank 50, two steps closer to number 1. "I'm going to go to sleep now." He said to no one as he passed out.

Cruz walked as he looked at how the school was. He was not used with things as they are now, so he thought that a bit of exploration would help him. Hmmm... all of the doors are similar... made of wood, with doorknobs and the need of keys to lock and unlock... how different., he said. Soon, Cruz reached his room and opened it. "I guess I am not sharing my room. Lhermite, did you got any information about a roommate?", he said. The screen appeared once again in his front. "No, Lord Cruz. As far as we have information, you are the only one that owns this room.", the AI answered. "Good. I will talk to the Principal later so I can discuss an arrangement over my room. Set a reminder for that.", he ordered. After a while, a beep could be heard as a reminder was set. Cruz turned of the screen, dropped his bagpack at his bed and got outside.

"Lord Cruz, look out!!", the AI spoke. Cruz was almost hit by a fireball that passed over his head. If it was not for Lhermite's warning, it would have been a powerful hit. When he looked, another student was aiming him. "So, you're the technomage kid I heard about... I'm finishing you here, abomination!!", the other student said. Cruz walked back a little. "B-B-But, what did I do to you? I do not even know you!", he answered. "Shut up! You technomages are a disgrace for the rest of the magic race! I'm taking you out here and now!!", the same student spoke and shot another fireball. Cruz evaded and started to run. Is... is this the way of things in the outide world?! How... how violent...!!, he thought.

Theo stopped and sat at a bench near the entrance of the academy.
"Arm why does this fell like déjà Vo." Theo asked his robotic arm.
" I cant determine the abilities of déjà Vo but Imp may know why."

Theo jumped off the benched ,walked into the academy and headed towards the principals office.

Sol landed at the bottom of the hole and looked around, he sighed, he hated to leave Rin by himself but there was no point in looking around here and getting lost. He decided that he would have to leave and come back later. Sol took out a blue stone from his pocket and threw it into the ground. The stone embeded itself in the ground, Sol made sure he had the other stone in his pocket, they were a rare pair of items that allowed one to teleport to each other. If he caught a even a hint of Rin being here he could come back immeditaly. He jumped back up out of the hole bouncing off of the walls and propeling himself with wind untill he reached the top, then started running back to the school. If he couldn't help Rin now he would just have to become stronger and increase his rank so he could pay back his debt. He also had to find Slick and beat him up for not even considering looking for Rin.

Delilah hummed to herself as she walked walked across campus. It was still fairly early, and she needed to report to the war ground. It should at least be amusing to watch the first years fight.

Sol ran around the corner and found Delilah walking around. "Hey Delilah, anything happen when i was gone?"

Tyler stumbled through the hallways as people began to give him a wide berth. He had fought more students again and gone up another rank to 49. He had fought in full view of everyone so people were wary of him now. When observed you would notice he was burned in places and other places looked like they had ice covering him. In short, he needed medical treatment. He continued limping as he passed by Delilhah and Sol. "Should've figured that twins would work well together." He mumbled to himself. He fell on the ground and began coughing and tried to get back up. He fell again and stayed on the ground for a bit.
