OOC

So I got this stupid idea after thinking about some of the Precure Allstar movies where all the precure gather up together and I was thinking 'dang that is a lot of magical girls'. So what I was thinking was what if the magical girls got so numerous and powerful that they started their best to ever prevent evil and disasters from happening in the first place. In order to have eternal peace the magical girls have created a kind of regime devoted to protecting the peace and order of society and have essentially taken over. Frankly, most of the population backs them since after all, they are being protected, no great evils have shown up recently, and their protectors are cute girls, what could be better? Still there are those who feel oppressed by their bubbly and often fashion crazy protectors.

The world feels too cute and nice, many dangerous activities are now prohibited completely, and there are quite a few rules such as curfew that has been implemented into the system. For various reasons a variety of individuals have banded together or work alone in order to thwart the magical girl system, of course to do this magic will be needed to combat magic and these rebels have to be careful about being discovered or they could be purified. With various goals in mind from freedom to simply protesting about cute critters and colors, these rebels will go to great lengths in order to topple the magical girl 'empire' and hopefully 'normalize' the world.

I'm still thinking about the specifics but if done right I think this has some potential. Just tell me you think and so on.

So basically due to magical girl overpopulation they've kind of taken over everything and as they are magical in nature conventional weapons are useless so that's out of the picture. Most of the magical girls started out alright, ready to fight evil and protect the earth from various threats but some got power and control hungry and so have shaped the world toward their will in order to 'protect' humanity. The magical girls will have some kind of agency that directs them, telling both magical girls and even the citizens what to do. A lot of villains in the past have used negative feelings and other negative energy to do their work and so the magical girl society has set in rather strict rules in society to keep evil power from collecting.

Magical Girls generally come in two types, those who are abusing their powers and position as protectors and those who truly believe in what they are doing. There are many different types of magical girls, with a wide variety of powers, skills, and fighting abilities. Generally the girls who have been magical girls the longest tend to be the most powerful while the 'younger' ones gave a ways to go but should not be underestimated.

Frankly what I'm trying to figure out is what kind of setting to put this in. A school setting could work but that could also be quite limiting. Could be an active, full time resistance but I would prefer some undercover action. Then there's the possibility of being 'normal' people with jobs or school who decide enough is enough and get some power of their own to strike back. Not really sure.

This is precisely why magical girls should be on a timer and then become a

RE: setting. I kind of think that it'll depend on how the characters will be able to obtain power strong enough to deal with magical girls since they sound very... invulnerable. I mean if it was going to be something like 'steal the power from m.girl lair' or 'steal the m.girl familiars that could potentially grant 30-year-old-otaku-men magical girl powers', then the resistance action within a normal daily-life setting seems most fitting [to me at least]. They would band together and infiltrate the lair at night or whatever.

If it was, like, the amount of magic in the air from the m.girls' constant use which made some people are born with anti-magical girl power; in this case the 'protection' of m.girls would've reined long enough for the next generation to be born and grow up which in turn means that no one was able to successfully fend off the m.girls for a number of years and would most likely have fallen into a dystopian magical city. I imagine if this was the case then there would be no great evil to fend off which will make them either cage humanity in the dystopian city and every-so-often come down and do whatever they want with people, even going far as making it a battlefield and actually hurting the people themselves; or make them into slaves, stripping their freedom to do their bidding with the twisted sense of 'protection'.

School setting seems, um. Unfitting mainly because m.girls are governing in a city-scale protection regime... right?

Though, if whatever powers that be wanted to create that many m.girls in the first place, it seems very sinister or does not comprehend morality.

I-it's not like I want to roleplay a fat thick glasses-wearing unhealthy skinned and big-lipped guy in his early forties wearing frills and swinging a wand at... things.

Well for powers I have a few potentials that people could receive them from. 1. One of the 'other' forces that so often try to destroy of take over the world grants humans their power in order to topple the magical girls. So basically these people would be getting a power boost from a somewhat evil force though they will try to use the power for their own ends. 2. Magical girls that have gone rouge from the dystopian society of magical girls. 3. Ancient artifacts endowed with magical forces that bestow their power on certain individuals. 4. Someone who has managed to actually steal their power from a magical girl, somehow channeling the power meant for the girl into themselves.

There are certainly other methods but I think those would be the main ones. I think it might be more fun if we included all these different ways to get magical powers into the roleplay so we can have a much more diverse and interesting cast who might not always agree with what their next step should be. Variety is the 'spice of life' as they say.

My idea for a character is someone who stumbled across a magical forest that exists between dimensions and fights using the power of fruit

my idea is a guy who was raised by wizards and grew to hate magic, and wants to make sure the magical people don't rule the world.

I did a magical girl war with them symbolizing weapons of mass destruction in an arms race of magical girls, although the roleplay died.

This could be fun to join.
