I really want to do an epic roleplay. Something with the intense feeling from the fight scenes in 300. With the sense of brotherhood from Lone Survivor. Brutal reality of the Alamo. Moments of pure, unadulterated awesome, mixed with the heart-wrenching sadness of losing a comrade. Hopefully you can understand what I'm trying to get at here.

I really don't have much of an idea for a plot. Here's what I do have though: five elite soldiers are selected to defend [insert whatever item you want here] against [whoever you want to kill]. They choose Edinburgh Castle for it's superior defensive capabilities, and a fireteam under the command of each of the elite's. It's a suicide mission. Chances of death are high. It's going to be a war and a half.

I'll likely kill your character in some immense feat of heroism, and injure them in a way Leonidas would be proud of. Strong violence, strong language, serious feels.

What do you guys think?

I was originally planning on men. I don't know if the drama with the female would be advantageous or not, so should we wait and see what the others will think?

Hi, I know this RP is full, and I will gladly slip back into the black chasm that I just crawled out of, buuuuuuuuuuuuuut....

If you guys wanted an omniscient enemy to fight against, I would love to play as the attacking forces. I wouldn't try to "win" or anything, I just really want to brush up on my writing skills (which is why I joined the site), and this suits my area of interest quite well.

You know, rather than inventing scenarios/situations/crises on your own, I would happily fill that role. Like, I could detail troop movements i.e the enemy scaling the walls, or launching a mortar strike, or trying to air drop troops in the middle of the mess. You guys could then hamburger them as you see fit.

Just a thought.

That's... actually a very good idea. You know that this is one of the tragic victories for the good guys, which is good. Not to take away from your role, but all it would entail would be making the enemy movements and attacks a tangible post instead of a boring report on my behalf. Making it pretty (or gruesome). So what're we talking here? Russians? Chinese? I'm trying to think of a logical enemy in this situation; who'd be able to sweep through Western Europe and then land on Britain? Obviously there's going to be a bit of room for fantasy on whoever these guys are, and I'm not going to complain with whatever you choose. However, the quicker I know who it is, the quicker I can start researching the sort of equipment and tactics they might employ.

I was actually torn. I didn't know whether to have legions of orcs or something (for the shiggles because there are millions of them and they are a low tech level), or actually going for an enemy that could be viable. Either Russia or the Chinese I would say, they have the numbers and technology for there to be a proper onslaught, and I think the North Koreans could definitely have the numbers.

How about a Chinese/Russian/Korean alliance? Bonded together by diplomatic Western aggression against their various states. China and North Korea are busy fighting the U.S in the Far East, heavily depleting Nato resources in Europe. Despite assurances of neutrality to the escalating crisis, Russia launches a blitzkrieg against Eastern Europe, and Scandinavia.

By the time the RP takes place, Norway has just fallen, and Germany has been reduced to a smoke choked hell hole as Nato and Russia go toe-to-toe. With her army away on the European mainland, Britain then faces a surge attack by Russian forces using Norway as a leap pad. The Royal Navy scrambles to intervene, as does the TA and whatever remains of the army on Britain, but until they can congregate into a serious force, Scotland stands open to full blown invasion.

Regional Scottish forces are obliterated in a joint airborne/naval operation from Russia, and all that stands between London and the Russian vanguard is the castle.

The SAS, or whoever they are, have to hold off against the Russians until the British army mobilises its counter attack.

There's my two cents lol. Like I say though, go with whatever you want. Orcs? I can play orcs.
